Why did the King not open Parliament?

👏 Its good to see the Prince back in Tonga. Although I don’t agree with some of his extended family members titles being reinstated, it’s too confusing. The title of Prince loses its power if every other male relative is a “Prince”. The Kings children should ONLY hold the titles. They need to follow King Charles lead and downsize. I’m not sure how the other “Prince” serve the Tongan people anyway?

To be frank it is Children and Grandchildren of a Monarch that receive HRH Prince & Princess titles. The only HRH Prince's in Tonga at the moment are TRH's Crown Prince, his son Prince Taufa'ahau and Prince Ata (Kings younger son). King Tupou V was the one who granted the HSH (His/Her Serene Highness) titles to previous Hon. Sitiveni Tuku'aho and Hon. Kalaniuvalu-Fotofili making them present HSH Prince Tungi and HSH Prince Kalaniuvalu-Fotofili. The only hereditary HSH is HSH Prince Tuipelehake since his title was passed onto him when his Uncle & Father passed away. That's when HRH Tuipelehake went from HRH to HSH. And predicted in the future to go down to either Hon. Or Lord Tuipelehake. They're just curtsy as HSH adding on to their Noble titles through their Royal background. But truthfully there's only like 5 Princes and 6 Princesses left (RIP HRH Pilinisesi Mele Siu'ilikutapu).

Also there's a lot of Honourables and being honest there's way too many Noble Children thinking too highly of themselves and using this title for their own😂 Hon. Is only ever for Princesses children, Baron's children, and Eiki Tauhifonua (Nopeles that don't use Lord as a title and rather stick to Hon. ---)

@@darkness6723 my take on it is this - unless you actually serve the Tongan people you shouldn’t get an honourable title either! This kind of entitlement is antiquated and off putting to be honest. When the King of England - King Charles is downsizing and we’re still entertaining this, what does that say about Tongans?!? The Kings eldest children are well educated and are great ambassadors to Tonga. But all the extended/cousins are just embarrassing. If you don’t see them on social media flexing their titles 🤢, don’t worry they’ll to you who they are?!?
