Battlefield 2042 is an upcoming first-person shooter video game developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is the seventeenth installment in the Battlefield series and the successor to 2018's Battlefield V. The game is scheduled to be released on November 19, 2021, for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and Series S. Unlike recent Battlefield games, Battlefield 2042 will be merely multiplayer and will not have a single-player campaign and will feature cross-platform play, a first in the series.
Similar to its predecessors, Battlefield 2042 is a multiplayer-focused first-person shooter. As the game is set in the near future, it features futuristic weapons and gadgets like deployable turrets and drones, as well as vehicles that players can commandeer. Players can now request a vehicle air-drop to any location. The game also introduces a new "Plus" system which allows players to customize their weapons on the spot. The class system was significantly overhauled. Players can assume control of a specialist who falls under the four traditional Battlefield gameplay classes of Assault, Engineer, Medic and Recon. These characters can wield all the weapons and gadgets players have unlocked. Each operator has their own unique skills and gadgets. For instance, one of the specialists is equipped with a wingsuit, while another is equipped with a healing pistol. The game will launch with 10 specialists. Levolution and destructive environments from Battlefield 4 will return, and extreme weather effects such as tornadoes and sandstorms, which can lift players into a vortex and drastically reduce the visibility respectively, will also be present in Battlefield 2042. The game will feature seven maps at launch.
The game has three main gameplay modes. "All-Out Warfare" encompasses "Breakthrough" and "Conquest", two staple modes of the series. In Conquest, two teams combat against each other to capture control points; once control points in a sector are captured, the team will control said sector. In Breakthrough, one team must try to capture another team's control points, while another team must defend them. Both modes can be played with and against artificial intelligence. Other modes included in the game are a cooperative multiplayer mode called Hazard Zone, and a community-driven platform called Battlefield Portal. Portal allows players to create customized multiplayer modes and features select maps from past Battlefield games. In addition, players will be able to modify core gameplay elements such as health, weapon loadouts, and movement through a web-based scripting application.

As each match can now accommodate more players, the team had significantly expanded the size of the maps. However, instead of simply creating huge maps, the locations in the game were designed based on the idea of "clustering" in order to funnel players towards a particular direction where they can engage with other players. Daniel Berlin, the design director of the game, described the maps as "several smaller maps stitched together". The decision to include artificial intelligence for the All-out Warfare mode was made early during the game's development as the team believed that it would be a good entry point for beginners. Ripple Effect, formerly DICE Los Angeles, led the development of Battlefield Portal.

Since i have been asked this a fair bit, REASON to my color setup - in the science research i have from my motor control unit at uni, Humans naturally base red as "BAD, Threat, Risk, blood, e.g" so i wanted to trick out my brain and reduce my ability to recognize threats by switching up to blue been enemy and trick my brain out so i could set myself a little more and reduce my reaction time.
But in saying this, i found even though i was able to get used to Blue been "Enemy" the blue blends into dark textures more then red, yellow, orange e.g so i have turned it back to red for now, and friendly been yellow, and squad purple. i found i was missing easily 3d spotted targets cause of this so this was my little experiment to myself.
Normal people: I want to make my reaction time fast as possible. EB Knispel: I need to decrease my reaction time :D But man, for real its not easy to watch. Its mess with my mind

Seriously can’t wait for the 2042 guides, I know they may be w lot of work to make but I benefit from them so much!

Great vid. I love racking up 30+ kills in my tank games. Gets the adrenaline pumping when you are literally on fire and have a stream of rockets you have to juke out to win. I can't count the amount of times my passengers bailed on me out of fear but I survive
They always bail out don’t they! Death really isn’t something people should worry about in BF. I always stay with the tank until it blows up

Hey man great game. Gotta say though the hud colours are pretty tough to watch from a viewer's point of view. Red is just so deeply ingrained as the enemy colour it's impossible to see it as anything else.
Yeah I know. I did it to really test myself and fight the stigma of red been enemy. I probs should of highlighted that in the voice over I was doing some testing and wanting to challenge my eyes UI wise

I get why people don’t tank aggressive though. With there the amount of thing that could counter you, with the turret movement the way it still it is hard not to get overwhelmed with the sheer amount of things that can hurt you. Not a fan of the rocket launchers as the seem to be able to snipe you from half way across the map and the class system the way it is 90% of people have a rpg
Yeah the rockets seem to have no drop, cant even tell what classes have the rpg too

So if you want to pick a “sniper” specialist, equipped with medic kit and rpg, yeah, you can do this silly thing

Hahahaha, yeah wasn't the best idea, it looks nice, but the blue blends into shadows well, maybe a sky blue might be better.
Great round. That game mode is good for big scores on attacking.
Not enjoying Armor this game but buggies and Hovercrafts are super fun and OP. Had some 100+ kill Conquest rounds with a 2 man Buggy crew and 30mm cannon.
May have been server at the time but I found TOWS to be very slow and jittery/laggy. 4+ consecutive hits don't kill a transport chopper wtf lol.
I love this tank, I've been considering buying the game because of it. It's my favorite!

What are your keybinds for the tank? you switch in and out of first person so quickly and frequently. Also, your aim is insane. You hardly ever miss.
Any tips for avoiding C4 monkeys? Having a hard time avoiding them. Also c4 from parachuting enemies. As well as it seems like absolutely everyone has M5 launcher...
At this moment, don't camp and sit in the one spot too long. You can kinda out run them but really isn't a counter...It's broken.
The lack of clear hitmarkers when hitting other tanks is very annoying and less satisfying than previous games.

Third seat 60m nades, has good dmg and infantry clear around closer ranges, other options are meh
If you wanna farm infantry and ignore vehicles for the most part go Heat.

Hey Knispel idk if you've checked it out or not yet but the wildcat is a force to be reckoned with once you unlock the 57mm cannon and some of the more advanced gunner weapons. Highly suggest you check it out!

Can you change the tank driving controls where the bottom stays going one way without moving the stick in that direction? Like pushing forward always makes the tank go forward no matter where the turret is pointing
As far as I have found, sadly no. If anyone does know if you can and I'm just a silly sausage I would love to know I expect they forgot to add it.

How do you correctly play aggressive without going on a suicide push? To me aggressive is trying to push towards the enemy, but they can easily overwhelm you. What is the correct way to do it?

I haven't tested yet, i have been very reluctant to use it cause in comp it was banned, and if it is like bf4. Really cheese against tanks
Yes you need a lock, it's damage output dosent seem any different tbh and there is zero splash damage so stick with the first shell.

How do you scope in?
These HUD colors ain't it fam. The warm colors I.e. your reds,orange etc has always been for enemies. It's a little off putting to see red friendlies
Was playing around with the colors just to toy with my brain a little. im on Red enemy's and yellow friendly's atm
the worst one iv seen is enemy/friendly's set as black, i did that once and i kept flicking to my own teammates thinking they were enemy when not 3d spotted 🤣🤣

TOW looks a lot harder to Pilot then TVs... but seem still fun.
It's scary to think of attempting Driver TOW... can the Driver really afford to self distract on TOW Aiming? Then again, ya might have times when it's unsafe to Seat Switch to your TOW...
Man I swear whenever I get into a tank or heli there's a constant stream of rockets flying at me as what seems like the entire server swaps to rockets to kill me.
But if an enemy hops in a vehicle? You'll be firing your rockets by yourself as you watch tanks and helicopters slaughter your teammates as they put up fucking shields with Irish, or try to Batman away with McKay.
Please show us your settings. My tank can barely turn and feels so shit compared to BF4

Making kills is not what's it's about to win a round.
Capuring and holding flags is a much bigger challenge than making kills.
Sometimes when i drive my tank, im in the process of capturing a point all by my self, without any infantry support.
While i'm fighting off an killing 10+ enemy soldiers who try to prevent me from doing so.
But when i eventually capture a point, my team is often not make any effort to keep the captured point.
Quite frustrating.
The longer as you fight alone in a tank against the enemy, the more reinforcements keep coming trying to kill you.
I also do not use the 'third person" camera, due the fact that in reality you can look arround your tank from the outside.
And i want to play it as realistic as possible.
Why do you have blue as enemy? Is it a colour blind thing?

I managed something similar 112 kills and 0 deaths.

I beat this today against mostly bots on a private server, I find a mixture of tactical, and aggressive playstyle works best in the T28.
Defenders on breakthrough facing way to many vehicles Tbh! No fun to play it!
Highly agree, defenders should not have to vs 3v1, sweet spot is more a 2 to 1 vehicle ratio when comes defense (excluding aircraft)
