I'm not saying you have to make 7 second thermaling turns ... just showing you it's possible, when needed!
Good advice for relatively new pilots, scared of strong bumpy thermals: just turn tighter instead of running away. Less likely to be stumbling in to the bumpy edges of the thermal, less likely to loose the thermal, and more G loaded wing will be more stable and feel more comfortable.
Very helpfull👍👍👍Thanks
if you can heli in a thermal does that count?
I sure learned a lot from you. I believe you may have preemptively saved my life
Not me I'm never doing this....uz rbrace
Me: does literally anything
Greg: you wanna change that
I'm a paraplegic and just started trike paragliding. Stoked!!
Your bravery is really what makes you fly!
Stay elevated stay safe. You are inspiration to anyone who wants to fly. Kick ass bro much love👊
@@kylewolfman thanks I really appreciate your comments🙏
Hell yeah dude!
Thats amazing! I'm just getting into this sport, I am so excited to begin my flying journey! Hope yours has been going great so far! Remeber skys the limit brotha 🤙🏼
Just got my licence in wilderness with my instructor Ben, absolutely life changing sport and love ur channel
Watching Greg's videos: you DON'T want to change that :-) :-) :-) Keep up the amazing work Greg, the paragliding community is lucky to have you!
Amen brother!
Im not a paraglider, nor do I partake in any sort of recreational flying. Not a huge fan of the free fall feeling either. But I must say Greg, you videos are great. I've watched quite a few now. Your presentation is tiptop and the content is very enjoyable.
I have zero intention of getting up in the air but I keep watching 👍🏼
I just got a HobbyKing R/C paramotor. Flew it once so far and cut a shroud with the motor. Still...
Been flying for many years now and still learning, never can learn enough.
This is worth far more than £10 a month for sure! Experience and knowledge from Greg over his many years of flying presented in a clear, concise, practical and easy to take in and understand way with Greg's good sense of humour. Thanks Greg this is going to transform my flying! Can't wait to see this next series!
Thanks Greg, My name is Hodo....After spending 20 years in the high-rise window cleaning industry and not jumping off the building without a rope and secure gear; telling myself Hodo....don't jump. Its time i learned to fly like the birds I have loved to watch sore. I love the heights, love the gear, and want to sore. looking forward to your courses and knowledge in this New adventure.
Starting my training in february, can`t wait! Glad I found your channel to improve myself later on.
This is the best compressed tips I’ve seen for paragliding! Great to see the mistakes and what to do correctly
A lifetime of experience in just a few minutes!! Thanks for the effort. Will watch the video again!!
I'm a paramotor pilot now and I'm very interested in learning to paraglide. I love these videos, Greg, because you are honest, humble, cheesy, and wildly informative. When you make mistakes, you own them, like when you got stuck in the desert!
I'm subscribed and hope to someday paramotor in the morning, hike up a hill and paraglide late morning to early afternoon, get some late lunch, then paramotor into the sunset. Can't wait!
I'm starting my course in South Africa Port Elizabeth soon . This has to be the most comprehensive channel for PG .. Awesome content ..
Hiya Mark. Fellow PE pilot here. All Greg's content is awesome and instructive and I feel like I've learnt a tonne just listening to him. That said; the wealth of experience in our local conditions that both Cal & Ben bring to the table is not to be underestimated. They make things very practical and digestible and you will watch your flying develop under their tutelage. Happy landing and I'll catch you on the hill.
@@theapretorius9563 who are Cal & Ben?
Thank you for this, I'm just getting into paragliding and this is gold.
Greg - youre a fantastic guy... Its a pleasure to watch you explain this with such patience and love of flying.
Greg, thank you SO much for putting these videos out. I have watched all, and I mean ALL your tutorials and vids and as a new P2 pilot, cannot express how helpful they have been. Hope to come and fly your site in England some day.
Glad you like them! I hope to escape from my site in England soon :-) I think I'm genetically programmed to be a migratory bird...
I just watched your video on swoop landings, that happened to be the first thing I wanted to get instruction on, and there it was. Where I trained the instructor stood at the top of the hill, never seeing my landings, and never giving any input that I could use to make my landings softer. I have spent most of my time as a paraglider pilot wondering how much more my knees could take. Now that I have watched 3 of your videos I have several techniques I am anxious to try. Thank you!
These entries are always simple and concise with their discussion of complex ideas. I am incredibly novice but these videos bring confidence into my springtime training!
You rule Greg!
Wow, so much condensed knowledge, and I confess I do few of these things and I definitely need to change that!
I prefer these short and straight to the point videos. Thank you Greg.
Hi dear thanks alot for your kind guidance im joiner in paragliding I used your instruction all form take of to landing even my cotch got shoked because my preference growing v fast thanks again
My regards
Aysar from Iraq 🇮🇶 Baghdad
Over the years you help me so much. Thanks Greg
Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge!
Very clear explanations.
I love the detailed attention to color grading. Evolution in paragliding vlogging! Thanks for all the content Greg. They help tons
You're the 1:1000000 who notices the finer details, and that gives me a smile. A lot of what I do is not on the surface ...
Greg, don't change you. Your great man, probably saved my life preemptively . it's pretty cool the way you talk right into the camera hahaha like you're looking for us in there
Great material! I love everything you put out, always learning something! :)
a lot of usefull tips that are often overlooked in regular training. You have my subscription!
Great content, can't wait to start flying again!
Excellent information as always. Thank you Greg.
Love it, keep it coming mate.
Short but useful info and tips 👍
Love this video Greg! As a novice pilot, I appreciate so much the content you have provided and especially videos like this one! Keep it up.
Saved the video....clean and neat. Must revisit it constantly! Thx Greg!
Love all your videos! Keep up the good work!
Congratulations with the 10.000 subs! Always good helpful content from You Greg :)
precious tips and tricks...
in our dayli paragliding those tips could be the difference between a good flight and an incident... thanks for sharing... I love number 7
Nice video, thanks Greg. I love paragliding, there's always something to learn!
Damn I love this kind of videos. I just did 5 flights in my life and it feels so good to know about the theory before learning it the wrong way. There is such a high amount of information in a 6min video, where many CZcamsrs would artificially stretch these information to like an hour or so. Very impressive!
sempre brilhante nos conteúdos, informações chave para o piloto melhorar sua segurança e aumentar sua performance. obrigado greg
Nice one again Greg! Great to pick up tips even when not able to fly during this nasty weather (in Holland). GrtzAart
These are great tips, I've watched it several times already!
This is very helpful thanks !
You are getting me so ready to start flying 👌summer 2021 will be the start of my paragliding career!
Great info, I’ll keep having a look at your videos to gain some further knowledge.
Top notch advice as always. Thanks so much Greg!

Digging the concise instructions, very clear.

Thanks Sonny, the simplest methods are the best ... glad I can help you get more out of this incredible sport.
Clear, crisp, concise! Love it!
Cracking new video. I like the change in style and format for this content :) hoping for some better weather to get out and try it soon :)
mixing things up a bit by going through the archives, because flying is like ---------
So pleased to have come across this channel.
Hey Mate love the video will definitely be watching more content of yours. As I just started my paragliding training. Today was the day I got towed.
Cheers
I'm not a pilot yet, but happy to see I'm doing the first 3 rules 🙂 I stayed with my start with the As and Cs, although several people have showed me how they start just with the As and brakes. I've started GH early, after about 5 winch starts, and experienced some gusts. I will never leave the Cs, they are my saver! 🙂
No. 10 will go on my to-do list for GH practice.
Approaching is getting better, but flare is not consistent yet. And I'll remember the tight turns when I'll first fly a thermal.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! 🙏🙂
Good tips, concisely presented.
Regarding tight turns in thermals. May I suggest that SOME thermals are wide and weak. A steep turn would give up climb rate in these. More accurately it would be : "use a bank that keeps you climbing at the highest rate" which is sometimes shallow. But be willing to go steep when the tightness of a core demands it."
Of course this head knowledge must turn into skill developed through application.
Thanks Jeff, and a good point! I'll make a much more detailed thermaling video which will go into optimising climb rates, but if I was to give ONE piece of advice for progressing pilots trying to thermal better, it's turn tight. I seldom see pilots turning so tight they are sinking out, although it is technically possible.
Thank you for all the content!
Hi @fly with Greg, thanks so much for the tip, nice video, and explanation, would like to have a video how fo counter the roll movement, thanks 😊
Sir you sir are the master I wish I could train with you I've never para sailed but am totally willing to learn right thank you for the time you put in just a great teacher thank you.
Good things to keep in mind for sure. Well thought out video, thanks for sharing.
Love your vids, great info. Thanks brother
Redoing my ep and then cp in March. Love your videos Greg. Lots of good advice. Thanks
Best of luck!
Signed up at your website Greg and can only recommend it to other pilots. I have been flying since 2014 and found a lot of very useful information presented in a way that makes it easy to understand. Keep up the good work Greg and hope to see you on a launch site somewhere :-). Kind regards from Norway
Loving these videos Greg as a student doing CP at the moment these tips are like finding nuggets of gold in a mountain of often confusing and conflicting advice - keep up the amazing work 👍👍👍
Great to hear! Go easy on those tight turns in the beginning, you'll give your instructor grey hair! It's just something to work towards...
@@FlyWithGreg - will do - Paddy has enough grey as it is 😉😉. Not much flying at the moment here on our tropical paradise that is the Isle of Wight - hopefully some high(er) pressure heading our way soon 🤞🤞🤞
Thanks for helping me learn!!!!
Brand new to the sport and your videos have stood out above all the rest. I look forward to advancing in skill and perhaps flying with you one day.
Solid advice Greg!
Yet another brilliant video! Keep them coming Greg👍🤙
Thanks Marcin! I'm planning to do a lot of video work over winter :-) Next summer, we're ALL going flying!
Nice set of clear flying tips to fly by!

This is pro!bably my most favorite video you have made greg!!!! Your awesome bud
thank you very much for this useful video Greg
another cool video greg
keep'em coming!
So glad I found this channel. Hope to get on a mojo after school in the near future. Stay elevated stay safe 😎
Those are essential to flying safe. Nice video of putting those together so every pilot can run those scenarios through their head when its needed.
Love the videos Greg!
subscribed a while ago. I watch all your videos and I owe it to you to jumping into this amazing sport earlier this year. A little too late into the season though being that I live in Colorado its going to take me waiting till next year to finish my P1. I am saving for my first canopy and gear set up now. I am a skydiver and have found I have picked it up fast and thats what drove me to the sport. I cant say enough how much your videos are inspiring and extremely informational! I know I can always learn something from one of your videos. Hope to see you in the sky one day in the near future!!!
Cheers Miles! If you want to vlog your learning progression, I'd be happy to feature you here ... greg@flywithgreg.com
Thank you. Great knowledge.
The lockdown where I live has just been lifted and the weather is warming. Cannot wait to get back out there.
Great food for thought... thx Greg 🖖

My most amazing instructor .. big Salut
These are great, thanks Greg! :)
It took 3 long years for me to learn these things with lots of experimenting. You summarised beautifully in a few minutes!
