- LC70 DPF Switch can be customized by your Toyota dealer to permit early manual DPF regeneration starting at indicator level2. Factory default setting will permit the use of the DPF switch starting at indicator level7 when the system is unable to complete an automatic regeneration. Customization allows more flexibility as to when manual regeneration can be performed and is particularly useful for owners that operate their vehicle in areas of dry vegetation

Darek, I had mine changed to Custom mode 2 a few years back, and have done several burns using the DPF button but the vinyl floor mat on my Troopy has melted from the huge amount of heat generated (by a stationary vehicle without airflow) and the lack of heat shields above the exhaust and muffler. I did a burn last week with the vinyl mat removed and easily measure 140 degrees C on the floor. Toyota need to address the lack of shielding. I crawled under a 200series and it has considerably more shielding further down between muffler and floor.

New to this and just got my 2015 200 series.... Why do a manual burn in the first place? I thought it just counts up and then does it automatically?

The customisation procedure itself is simple enough, however Toyota has not authorised us to share the document. Nunawading Toyota does not charge to perform this procedure.
How long does it take to finish the burn on level 2? And can the car be driven using the manual burn?
This burn from level 2 took 11 minutes to complete. Engine was already at operating temperature. Most of the Toyota DPF models will change over to automatic regeneration when the vehicle is driven after initiating a manual regeneration, however we have not confirmed whether that is also the case with the LC70.
That switch with custom mode comes from the factory or I have to apply from dealer?
Switch is installed at the factory. Custom mode is applied by dealer on request.

Thanks for this video is the custom mode only for level 2 ? I would like to set the custom mode to start at level 5 by my command , means if auto was not successful then I would be able to do at level 5 not 2, is this possible ?
Custom mode enables you to perform regeneration starting at level2. You can choose to perform the regeneration at level 5 if you like. It’s not restricted to level 2 only
@@nunawadingtoyota8134 great I would assume the dash warning light will not come up all the time from Level 2, am I right? also auto burn will carry on as factory setting all the time from Level 4, am I right?
@amirrezapakroo7434 DPF light will illuminate for a few seconds every time you start the engine to inform you regeneration is available. Automatic regeneration will continue to operate as normal. You can even start manual regeneration and proceed to drive the car and system will change to automatic regeneration.
Is thus at an expense or as a customer courtesy?
