The 800V active ride suspension is an engineering marvel
People don't realize just *how* overpowered it actually is. If you'd give 100% on all 4 shocks simultaneously, literally the whole car would jump up.
What a great car - thank you for reviewing! The GT will stay very rare on the road but it's the track toy of choice right now.
The Weissach pack will be very rare but the regular GT won't be that rare.
Thanks for the timestamps! Made it easier to skip Kyle's unneeded thoughts.
Lol
Yeah he honestly makes me never want to watch this channel again.
I feel like the fighting between Tesla people and Porsche people is silly. I feel like you are not looking for the same thing, people who would cross shop a plaid with this doesn’t seem like a demographic that exists. Tesla is a family car with crazy straight line speed for showing off and having fun on regular roads or a drag strip. The Porsche is a driving dynamics focused car. All about those corners, with hopes people could even track them now and then. The plaid is great but is NOT a track car.
How come a plaid track pack for 110k spanks the Ferrari enzo or maserati mc20 around the green hell then?
Also at 104' braking from 60mph the stock plaid outbraked most anything in it's sedan segment. So it's not just "straight line speed" 👍🏻😎
I agree entirely, both cars are great but for entirely different reasons and for entirely different buyers. Many people can only dream of being able to afford either of them, and those that can afford a plaid, including the track pack, likely also aren't cross shopping for a Porsche Taycan GT. In the end, though, this benefits all consumers since it creates competition and competition invites innovation, which eventually trickles down to cars most people can actually afford. Remember, folks, if you can't afford to buy it twice, you can't afford it.
I think Tesla and Porche should have done a 1 for 1 swap with this GT, and the Roadster so they can save each other the trouble of getting one to test.😅
I cross shopped the plaid and a taycan turbo s and went with the plaid w/ track pack. If the taycan had a NACS port, and one pedal driving, I would’ve been more interested. For me, I just could not justify 2x the price for the slower, less range, non-Tesla charging network, no one pedal driving option. The taycan did have better steering feel but grip was pretty similar, and the plaid can do from any mph what you had to do launch control in the taycan to feel. I’ll likely get a turbo gt next, once they goto NACS. I come from a long line of BMWs so I’m used to numb steering but still great road handling, and the plaid checks that box, with more lateral grip than my m5 competition. The hate is always funny tho
I’m considering the Taycan Turbo GT and for a variety of reasons I would not be caught dead in a Tesla of any sort
this purple color is AMAZING
The Tesla Plaid base price was 131k and went up to 160k with options for two years before Tesla dropped the price because Plaid sales dropped like a rock. 😂
A very nice refined review, great work Jordan!
Truly incredible interview and very interesting track footage. OOS is setting the standard. Well done Jordan.
Jordan is awesome at this kind of reviews 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Well, that’s it, my house needs a his/hers Oak Green Cross Turismo and that purple Turbo GT Weissach. 😂 Too bad I didn’t win that PowerBall a couple days ago.
They're starting another one soon. Feeling lucky?
You really know your business and found out some nice details. For example, the luggage box and the functional vents with the Weissach Package.
Well done Jordan. Very enjoyable review.
Awesome review
Amongst the top automotive content nowadays!
Your content is fresh, keep it going!
Taycan and a Cyber Truck 😂 Jordan is spicy haha. Wouldn't be mad at (being able to afford) that lineup!
Porsche is prof that there is proper drivers EV with Taycan Turbo GT ❤❤❤❤ love it. Jordan another awesome video 😊. Out of Spec team keep up with great work and greetings from sLOVEnia 😀😁
man, this was awesome, not a speed person but this was exciting, what a beast of a car, envious, good job Porsche
Jordan ! You are awesome at this!
Great video - it actually influenced my purchase decision
the sound of that turbo, god damn
@futuristic_car_channel turbo time
Cool car, i like that you can get it gutted but also as a usable daily. They should update the 2 fps speedometer though. In the end, I think Id still get a plaid for a third of the price, but I like that theres competition in the enthusiast EV space :)
German Engineering at its best ❤🎉
Timeline in the description is broken, i dont think you need the milliseconds
They like precision around here.
Great review Jordan! Phew….if money was no object and kids didn’t need to ride in the back seat this car would be on my short list. 😂
Kudos to Jordan, for keep hanging on and asking questions, while Lars casually pushing the boost button.
Can you explan or comparison attack mode and push to pass?
This time when you will get it for the cannonball run, pretty sure beating the record, please contact EA to have functional chargers ready. 😉
Very cool car! I worry though for all the previousTaycan, this is a serious upgrade. How is the software?
The GT looks great 😃
So, can we get a Taycan Dakar next? 😉
I’d sell my house for it.
The Monteblanco circuit is in the province of Huelva, not in Seville...
17:02 Must be a second turbo in that metal hump for the turbo gt 😊
This car is amazing but doesn’t make any sense. With the Weissach package you transform a practical sedan into an impractical 2 seater sport car that won’t be able to handle a track 30 min season
For the same price you can buy an actual track car from them.
If you opt out the package then you get Plaid+ track package performance for 2.5 times the price
Again you could buy a Plaid and a Cayman GT4.
The question that nobody asked is how slower is the standard taycan turbo gt on the racetrack compared to the one with the weissach package?
Can we get an update video on the R1T ownership experience
removing the back seats are just weird, they should just offer a Coupe version.
11:03 looks like british racing green
❤it!
5:17 I spy a Rivian!
Jason in front of me. I've been waiting for his video. Come on Jason 23:33
I don't get why people are fighting between Porsche and Tesla. I think it's awesome that these two companies are in a nonchalant competition to achieve the best sports sedan in the world, and the consumers benefit from this. I've driven both the Plaid and Taycan, and both are amazing to drive.
Exactly! In the end, this kind of competition mainly benefits the consumer and invites a ton of innovation! Maybe in a few years, we will look back and remember the days when EVs didn't come with active ride suspension as standard and laugh.
Daggum this thing cost wayyyy too much but is very nice.
The Model S looks so old now!
It does, but keep in mind it is actually pretty old and hasn't been refreshed in a while. I'd like to see what the new refresh will bring to the Model S.
14:44 Wow, it is a high speed courier car for organ transport 🤯
you guys are all over the planet, loving it :)
Hopefully no curbs were injured during the filming of this video! 😂
Have no fear. 🫡
It will be interesting to see how many of these things Porsche can peddle at that price. No rear seat would be a deal killer for many.
only the GT with Weissach package has rear seat delete
back here to re-watch and help out the stats since KC said nobody seems to care about "spicy EV's", as this video (so far) hasn't done as well as he hoped...🥺#SPICYEVS4LIFE
Porsche killing it, again. Just think what their e-911 will do. Meanwhile, your two-car strategy includes a CT? As a gag I presume?
Nope that’s the genuine truth. 🤷🏻♂️
@@Jordan_Schiefer Why?
@@jarrodf_ I enjoy driving it, I love the tech, and they nailed the steer-by-wire, sound system, and UI/UX. And I like the bold design. I know many hate it but I like unique vehicles.
@@Jordan_Schiefer Believe Silverado also has steer-by-wire and four-wheel steer; Silverado would be my choice if I needed a work truck, and Rivian otherwise. But to each one's own.
I'm gonna guess this thing is purple sky metallic.....? It looks very blue to me though
Got to say, it’s fun watching Jordan. Great review. Do I dare say the Kyles thoughts was most boring part of this whole video.
I’ll have 2 please
Porsche marketing must be steamed that they lost out to the CyberTruck.
I love Tesla, and this car is awesome. They are all awesome mainly because they are electric. Just charge them in the morning, and evening. That way you can brag that they run on coal!😁
Funny enough, the 2-speed transmission was probably the single biggest downside of the taycan turbo s I test drove, imo
Now to dig out 1/2m dollars for this..
Cool story. The Weissach isn’t available in the USA. And model s plaid still lighter than the Weissach which tells you how much of a porker the Taycan is to begin with.
Thank You everybody for All that you are doing for our Planet Earth....
Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste 🙏🏻 😊 🌈 ✌ ☮ ❤
i would take the porsche tycan turbo gt over a plaid. however because of the price difference.
i would take the soon to be revealed model 3 ludicrous. i like the speed of the model s, but its too big. the. model 3 is a much lighter and more tossable car and unless i wanted a more luxury oriented experience or wanted a bigger car, im taking the model 3 ludicrous with its insane performance in a straight line, around corners, the price, and the feel of the car in general.
Porsche is trying to compete against their own 911 Turbo or GT3, this is not enough of a compelling argument to switch.
This isn't competing against either of those cars. This is the ultimate EV for those that want an EV. For those that might previously have considered an EV this gives those people an option of something much better.......if you can afford it. Get your GT3 and get this
I'm suprised they didn't require a helmet. I guess it's Spain though.. 🤷
Of course your metrics are bad on this video, not only is there no Kyle in the Thumb nail, dude has his arms crossed, negative body language! This video is doomed! Also the algorithm did not push it to me even though my CZcams viewing is like 60% OOS, I had to seek it out after it and it's sagging performance were mentioned 2x on the OOS podcast and Batteries Included, idk if it's the topic bc I don't have the money for a Lucid but I watched all the charging vids, maybe just do a 10% challenge with the weissach pkg except at 120mph+
You guys need a next level Autobahn 10% challenge
Sexy car
The fact that everyone compares every new car to Tesla just proves that Tesla is the best! In reality this car competes with the Lucid Air Sapphire and literally ONLY that car….
Oh god, let's see the tesla fanboys cry about price... as if price and 0-60 are the only metrics people use to buy cars.
If that was true, a $40k 1000hp mk1 golf should be one of the greatest cars in the world...
..if you worried about price then porsche is not for you.
But did you see the price!!😂
99% of the audience worry about price.
@johny.5381 i cant i have to repeat myself...then its not for you.
@@jeffsteyn7174 but did you see the price...lol
Cant wait to hear about them cry about better reliability 150k warranty, better tech, better range, better efficiency, better value, better safety. You wont because they arent hating in the comments section
The Turbo GT looks amazin!
I think the weissach pack is stupid and only exists for the numbers and headlines.
A 2.2 ton car with four doors should have a rear bench, it doesn't make a huge difference.
As for the Plaid and Tesla haters, the Taycan gives the full power for 10 sec, unlike the plaid, and it only took Porsche 3 years to match the Tesla's performance, and just like the last time the Taycan came out and beat Model S Performance and all the Tesla haters cheered, an improved Model S is around the corner, and most likely will be more powerful.
The Taycan is amazing, good looking, great handling, but I feel the Plaid's powertrain is still superior.
I'm still holding my breath on a Roadster V2 at this point. I'd love to see what Tesla can really do when they push the price higher and make a car around the 150k to 200k price range that is actually meant to compete in this space.
How is the Plaid's powertrain "superior", if it needs 3 motors for the same power as Porsche gives with 2 motors though? Not to mention the Taycan's battery could actually give you ~1.300 hp (1.100 amps & >850 V).
The whole attack mode thing is primarily for thermals, however, it had higher straight line speeds before every corner on Laguna Seca compared to the Plaid. So it's rather a toy like "nitrous" from early 2000's tuning cars. The Plaid however still needs a complete stop to switch between track & drag modes, which also affects top speed for some ridiculous reason.
In terms of track performance, Tesla needed four years and illegal compound to actually fight against the Taycan. And how it's just left in the dust in every metric besides straight line acceleration.
@@BVZTIIIwhat happened with the illegal compound on the Tesla? I am unfamiliar with that
@@almac9203 on the Nordschleife, it ran its 7;25 with the Track Pack, which includes Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R tires, which, according to the official German version of Tesla's site, aren't street legal. Furthermore, it ran on ridiculous amounts of camber, of which I'm not sure if that's part of the Track Pack either.
And on Laguna Seca, it ran on prototype tires that Sebastian Vittel (YT) called _"very similar to Cup 2 R"_ and which still don't seem to be released. Furthermore with an active wing that didn't make it to the production Model S.
@@BVZTIII that sounds like the Tesla Model S wasn't a production Spec car and ineligible for production car lap records!
Please don’t wear sunglasses or a hat when filming.
I really, really hate those stupid fake sounds the fossil manufacturers insist on being in their cars. They can probably be turned off though.
I think Porsche charges $500 for the added sound so you don't have to worry about it and it can be turned off.
Absolutely waiting for people (again) to buy these, own it for couple of months & resell while posting "6 month ownership and regrets" videos 🤷😂
People who can drop a quarter million on a car don’t do that.
The fastest thing about the Taycan is the depreciation.
If you can realistically afford a Taycan, depreciation is the last thing you care about.
The Tesla Model S is the worst depreciating car in the industry
Show less speak
Tesla fanboys are punching the air right now 😂
Yeah right, you can get two Plaids for the price of the GT, so why would you imagine them being competitors?
Not at all, they are cars in entirely different price brackets. It's like comparing a Porsche Taycan GT to a Rimmac, they aren't even in the same league when it comes to price.
@@DzeiEidz The Tesla Plaid base price was 131k and went up to 160k for two years before Tesla dropped the price because Plaid sales dropped like a rock. 😂
@@DzeiEidz you get the inferior car in almost every metric though. The price has a reason 🤷
@@BVZTIII I really don't get this logic. Might as well compare it to Prius. Or Nevera. Stay in the price bracket.
The subject matter of Out of Spec videos are great - videos are just too wordy.
Its mindboggling how Porsche fans cant shut up about Tesla.😂 seems like an inferiority complex or something.
Obviously Porsche drivers don't care about Tesla. Just referenced in this context since Porsche broke both EV records.
@@jarrodf_its a pity that none of the Porsches you see om the roads atm can beat Tesla S Plaid, a family sedan, which is mass produced and owned by tens of thousands today, though. The Taycan youre refering to is special made and owned by almost noone. Yeah so cool🤣
@@shaolin89 You were the one who raised the topic of inferiority complex...
And 10 years from now, it will be an unrepairable boat anchor
Like your mom.
@@SpottedSharks Yep. My mom is very old now, a lot older than these POS electric cars will ever be.
Just like any current supercar, gas, electric doesn't matter. Gas cars have electronics too you know!
@@fleecystheking They do, yes. They aren't easy to fix either, but an electric car is all electronics, plus the fact the battery itself will be next to impossible to replace.
@@theprofessorfate6184 I'd love for you to point me to actual supercars that are EASY to get parts for and repair after 10+ years.
The battery itself can be opened to replace its components, you know. It's not that bad!
Another car nobody can afford
Its not ment for everyday ppl m8 if your looking at Porsche for affordable cars your looking in the wrong direction😂
It’s definitely made for a certain market. They aren’t even set up to make enough of them that even if they did try to sell them for $100,000, they couldn’t keep up with demand even if it was profitable.
But does it have FSD and a yoke? It’s worthless to most consumers otherwise.
Lol, nice sarcasm
Had me at first then saw the account name LOL
Nope but it has the safety feature of limiting full power to 2 seconds. Worth every penny 😂
Just so stupid to call an EV turbo anything. Porsche also has way too many models/variations
No thanks. Way too small. Way too impractical.
Right, a hypercar better be practical for the weekend's grocery shopping...
Not for you
I will take a GR Corolla with a taycon interior except leave the manual transmission in there
