Pavlova is very much a Christmas dessert in Australia. Our Christmas is our summer & our summer's are scorching so aswell as our Christmas lunch & dinner being mostly cold salads, prawns, cold ham & cold chicken with pav to follow as it's light & fruity that mixes well in our climate with a few cold beers. Us Aussie's & our sibling rivals across the "ditch" the Kiwi's are typical sibling rivals as we argue with each other over everything from sport to dessert.
