"I could kill you right now, nobody would hear you scream!". Funniest line I've heard in a long time.
Psychopathic mind
Robbin Williams was so talented, he could play any genre.
He could play any genie
I realized there are two deceased people in this clip Robin Williams and Bob Saget RIP
Robbin started out as a Mime in the New York Streets 😊😂
Salut Robbin !
Robin Williams actually worked as a mime in NY's Central Park in the mid 1970's. The prime time player working with him here is Brad Hall, who is the husband of Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Ah.....thanks for the info. Appreciate it.
Julia is there in the huddle at the end
It's been known since the 70s
And this amazing performance was live... crazy
on a saturday night too, no less
Nothing like reading a paper like there is NO NEWS TODAY HONEY! SEE IT'S EMPTY.. ALL EMPTY 🍷🤓
Kudos to the one who played opposite Williams. I imagine it was really hard to not break
Brad Hall, who ended up marrying his costar, Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine from Seinfeld, Old Christine, Veep etc)
My family went to a mall once and a mime was performing. To everyone's surprise my 6 year old niece became hysterical. We asked him to break character and he finally did, but while that helped, we finally had to just pick her up and go back to the car. At home, she slept for a while, then was fine.
Anyone have the same experience? Anyone know why?
Because mines are the worst?
Brad Hall didn’t break but I don’t think think he was much of a cast member or actor 🤨
The best mime artist I've ever seen. A physical echo. Flawless. There was seemingly no end to this man's talents. This sketch should be on the syllabus of every performing arts academy.
The world is a poorer place without you Robin Williams. X
Paul J Taylor: ever heard of Marcel Marceau or Jean Louis Barrault ? Probably not, since you are an American !
@@stranraerwal Williams was a jack of all trades and master of them all. Whereas other greats only excel at a few things at most. I wonder if constantly changing states of mind for the sake of acting led him to depression.
@@stranraerwal yeah i was going to say, he's probably only seen 1 mime in his life- robin
@@Andytlp He was not suicidal. He had lewy body dementia.
@@ianmichalski7997 oh
That "God man, how real!" line broke me.
He should have used... a silencer...
I can't help feeling like this brilliant bit was done just for this comment to be made decades later.
Can't you just see the sketch writers a minute after this aired? "Oh duh! Why didn't we use a silencer!" The neighbors were knocking before the shot, so they didn't need to hear the bang to come in... the shouting already had them involved.
2 French jokes!
@@mosart7025
Even thought ,,,they helped in the revolution .....
Americans
Dis like the French*
OMG. LOL.
Robin was always stupendous in his art!
Young Robin = loads of raw talent. Thank you for using all of it for us Mr. Williams.
Robin Willians is a genius.
He certainly is Ander
*Williams
Williams. Unless you mean somebody else...
Was.
A real genius his brain never stopped he's making peaple laugh in another universe I hope this kind man has found peact
his death still hurts 😭😭😭
He didn't realy kill him. He was clearly breathing. Must have been blanks.
Every time I've seen him on films he beings
Me joy and appreciate his skills
Robin's brilliance, talent and creativity was unending. We love and miss you Robin, and are so grateful that you will always be such a positive highlight in all of our lives.
My goodness I'm exhausted from watching this brilliant performance.
Robin Williams was amazing actor...
And He Always will Be
@@prodigiousatea7767 Yep, his work is eternal.
@@sauravdagaSDaga1984 Absolutely
Robin was a real genius. Miss him so much. The world is such a darker place without his incredible spirit. RIP.
I think this is just a documentary of what it would have been like to live with Robin Williams.
Wow Robin was buff
he used to train wrestling
Just look at them legs!!! 😲 1:10
Did ya get a look at the "unit" on Robin??
Robin was beautiful in every way.
I never realized how small his body was. With that big square jaw and costume the way he usually was, he seemed to be about football-player size.
For some reason I can just imagine them practicing this sketch, and Robin says 'Why is this mime called Mimer? I want him to have a real name! This is a real person! '
Director: 'Uh yeah alright, if you want. You can pick the name then.."
"It is René!! *grandiose mime action*
Robin Williams - there a well known photo of Robin Williams performing as a mime in central park in New York. A great reminiscence for Robin.
Yeah, that picture led me here. He looked amazing in that photo.
I read that Garry Marshell (Happy Days producer) says his sister introduced him to Robin Williams, who was a mime street performer taking acting classes.
I wonder if the Juilliard story is real? That they told him to leave because there was nothing left to teach him.
For someone known primarily for his voice acting he actually made a good mime.
Before he was a comedian and actor, Williams began as a mime in New York City in the early '70s. This is him doing the same stunts he performed for crowds in Central Park around 1974.
He actually did that before his acting and comedy career started
He is not known primarily for his voice acting. Are you high?
I miss Robin Williams. He was a great comedian and a fine human.
Probably the best skit ever on SNL. Just perfect...
Ever? Really??
One of the best things ever made. RIP LEGEND 😭
Robin Willians may you R.I.P
Robin moved really fluidly, it looks to me like he had some kind of dance training.
and possibly a nice supply of some kind of drug or something...
He was roundly trained in all forms of movement at Julliard.
He was a mime for years before standup.
Good god that was brilliant!
Robin started a street mime in NYC. But you already knew that, right?
For those that don't know:
Williams played a mime in "Shakes the Clown". Bobcat & Kenny's [w/plenty of other over-the-top performances] Independent Film [IRS] of '91.
Shakes the Clown, the Citizen Kane of alcoholic clown movies. And one of my all time fav movies too.
Thats why im here, i loooove the movie shakes the clown! Underrated clown movie gem. 🤡 ❤
Robin williams as Renee as Jerry the mime!! XD
I miss you Robin Williams you're the funniest actor we know and you will also a nice one too
Wow, this prequel to Shakes the Clown is a different genre all together.
this is so brilliant
He was amazing!! I grew up seeing his movies. He was an amazing actor.
Rest in powerful peace my favorite celebrity (and homie) of all time Robin Williams 🙏💞⚘⚘🎶✊
R.I.P in peace sweet prince
Yes, he should rest in peace in peace, because everybody needs double peace...
:^ ~)~
There's a hell of an echo in this coment :p
It's weird to see him so quiet.
Mimes are people too, y'know!
Ohh man!!! I miss Robin Williams so much. He was and always will be the BEST!!
jesus he was amazing
so good on so many levels
A mime is a terrible thing to waste. 😥
So talented and so sad. RIP Robin 8-)
GENIUS. RIP
Robin Williams once said, "A mine is a terrible thing to waste."
Mind
@@zovalentine7305 I think you missed the joke lol
A few years ago, I saw a pic on some site of Robin doing mime in Central Park circa 1975.
I really wish there was video of him going after a heckler as a mime.
That had to have been great. Wish I had seen it!
You know the old saying: A mime is a terrible thing to waste!
I laughed just looking at the thumbnail and thinking of the possibilities with Robin
Wow!! Robin Williams was a great actor and a great mine too. 😍🕺💃❤️
Good sketch. I enjoyed this. It reminds me of Steven Wright's line "If you shoot a mime, should you use a silencer?"
This has the modern energy of a Key and Peele sketch!
God robin was just on another level of talent
Genius!
Awesome!
Genius!!!
Robin William was a legend comedian and always be a legend
When I saw this clip years ago is always broke me up when Williams acted like he wanted to go to the bathroom too
I miss Robin Williams comedy, but he must have had a soft spot for mimes. Even in the movie Good Morning Vietnam where he played a disc jockey and there was dead air on the radio, he came back on and said, "... and that was Marcel Marceau's Greatest Hits." 🤣
He worked as a mime.
Rip robin
Very hilarious! It was actually giving me Marcel Marceau vibes.
talent
yes _
RIP Robin Williams!!!
great video _
Love it
Never thought I'd see a sketch where Robbin doesn't talk, but here we are.
RIP, oh captain, my captain.
first time i ever heard robin this quiet
Robin is breathing in the last few seconds - mimeing is hard work!
He has buns of steel.
Notice he knew to stop too before the next shot....that's talent.
RIP
He can be funny without saying a word. Freeking genius!
Clever sketch. 😄
🤣🤣🤣 I never saw this. So funny
I seem to recall Robin telling James Lipton in his "Inside the Actor's Studio" interview that he used to do mime out in New York City, but that he had to give it up because "a mime is a terrible thing to waste."
His suicide makes me sad !!! every time he makes me laugh !!!! R.I.P God gives you peace !
LOL. That's very funny.
Goals
Robin Williams actually did perform as a mime in Central Park back in the 70's.
A lot of levels at once here
Didn't he used to do mime in San Francisco before he got famous?
In front of The Met in NY
Rip
Throw way back😳
Wow what a sketch
Per Billy Crystal, “Mime is money”.
With skits like this you'd think that mime would have survived of US TV, but instead the execs were happy to have killed it off with real firings.
A mime is a terrible thing to waste...
I was 4 years old when this aired 🤯
He was a freakin genius
Fun fact: Tim is Brad Hall. Debra is Julie Louis Dreyfus. They met on SNL and are still married.
it is insane how talented robin williams was
He was a great actor. But his death was a saddest part of his broken life. Rest in peace sir we all love you so much.
Broken? He had a fantastic life.
I think he was diagnosed with parkinson's disease and he didn't want to live like that. My aunt had a stroke and I think she was in her 80s and could no longer walk. She spent the last 2 years of her life, bedridden. That's not a life. I prefer euthanasia.
Nothing like reading a paper like there is NO NEWS TODAY HONEY! SEE IT'S EMPTY.. ALL EMPTY 🍷🤓
RIP Robin Williams
He really filled out that leotard 😏
Robin Williams was a mime!
I have no idea if this story is true or not but apparently Robin used to do his mime act to pay for his classes at Julliard, one day his teachers heard about it and decided to go watch his act. The next day which was actually a few weeks from when the class was supposed to graduate his teachers told him he would be leaving Julliard since they had nothing else to teach him.
It's crazy to think we know one of the people in this sketch so well, almost as if they were a family member because of their raw talent and energetic humor. Yet we have no idea who the guy playing the mime is :/
Wow man for real feb 2 24 Bismarck North Dakota
RIP Robin Williams.
Come on, man! A mime is a terrible thing to waste!
Well! He had a nice body didn't know
Miss that dude 😢
