The musician at Birdy's party was Yo-yo Ma, award winning cellist. Hugh Grant actually was playing Blanc's partner.
The reason they showed that Blanc knew Helen halfway through instead of later in the film is a reference to the famous tune from the beginning which was a clue for the mystery box. When you layer it over itself, it creates a new tune and that’s what they did with the film.
Notice how each beginning starts with the knock on the door.
One of the brilliant pieces of direction in this movie is that so few people recall what a Glass Onion actually is. At the top of a lighthouse, the Glass Onion is the faceted glass ball which focuses the beam of the lighthouse, and is turned to make it flash out over the waves in the darkness. They called it a Glass Onion because that's literally what it looks like, but in order to focus the beam and produce the flashing lighthouse revolving light effect it also partially obscures details on the side.
The brilliant directing move is that immediately after the murder occurs on screen, we're plunged into darkness and chaos descends and the cast scurries about like cockroaches, but the darkness is illuminated literally by the glass onion of the island's lighthouse. Giving us a sequence of confusion while the beacon of truth shows us only snapshot glimpses in the dark and invites us to find full illumination.
Artfully constructed scene. Well done. I've seen the movie dozens of times and only just now picked up on it during this reaction.
If you re-watch, you'll see a lot of little details. My favorite is that Serena Williams is reading Gravity's Rainbow, the book which Blanc said, in Knives Out, that nobody has read.

great movie, great reaction! I like how yall pause to say what your thinking process is at the time, instead of either not saying it or talking through parts & missing stuff.
imo i think the halfway reveal that she was her sister & working with Blanc is better, because if it waited until the end a twin sister twist may have felt cheap & the part where she got shot had an extra layer of sadness to it briefly.

Great reaction. I have seen a dozen Glass Onion reactions and you guys kept in the dialogue unlike many reactors, which made yours stand out. First saw gou guys on Knives Out, another great reaction. I immediately subbed. The way Blanc dresses reminds me of Cary Grant in the Hitchcock movie To catch a Thief.
