I like the paper plates in between plates. I purposely purchase mismatched coffee cups from trift stores so my guests dont confuse each others cups. I also suggest moving ahead a shower curtain, sheets and toiletries

I’ve moved tons of times in my life but your tip for paper plates between the plates as well as the colored box stickers is great. Oh! And the trash bag for hangers! Nice one!
Nursing homes will give you the boxes Depends come in, there are a a nice size and I used them for cds, DVDS and books.

this was the most practical moving tips video so far
I’ve moved about 10 times in two years, which includes three moves in 12 months. The best advice I would give anyone is to load the bed last. That way it’s first off the truck and even if everything else is a mess and still in boxes, you have a place to sleep.
I’m good at packing and organizing. Way better than unpacking!

I have a friend who has moved a lot and she makes a chart and has a different color for each room. She uses those colors on the boxes and places color labels on the rooms so movers can easily check the chart and then find the correct room for each box.

Lovely video - made me smile as I work room to room, creating a worse mess than before. @3:15 You're using up wrapping paper! YES! I keep looking at that pile wondering what to do with it - trashing it without use seems like a waste :) Also: Don't underestimate the value of socks and other clothing that can be loaned to the moving process and not needed asap. Small breakables tucked into a fluffy sock (one each) and then tucked into a tote to be unpacked later to retrieve the socks made for a fun and easy wrap.

For dogs, give them CBD oil and a bone with peanut butter. Give them a quiet place to be. I have dogs who are excitable and one who has anxiety ALL the time.

Great tips! I'm wondering if you or anyone else you know of has offered a video specifically with tips about combining two fully furnished homes. I will eventually be moving my entire home into my fiancé's home and it feels a bit overwhelming, since we will have so many duplicates and both of us will have lots to get rid of
What do you’d think about using Space Bags for moving bulky items like blankets, comforters , towels, etc? I have a very limited space and don’t have room for many boxes in my car
You can also use a trash bag and a vaccuum if need be
I think that's a great idea!

Very interesting tips, Chessa! And delivered with a very pleasant voice and pace. But I must admit I still have to get over the horror I felt when you quickly disposed of unusued bottles of cleaning agents and the glass jar in that little waste paper basket. I can imagine that you may not have the time to sort what can be recycled or not, and maybe there is no recycling program in the city where you live. As a resourceful person and as a mother, maybe we can expect to see one of your neat videos make suggestions about recycling. Especially the cleaning products that rarely have expiry dates can be given away to avoid contaminating the environment.
I’d add that most cities should have hazardous waste drop off locations for safe disposal.
I just want you to know I hate moving... and I appreciate all the tricks I can get.

I wish I could do the pet care option for my cats but they've only been in the house we're moving from and can be skittish around strangers. One of them is much more skittish 24/7 and im "her person" that she's the most bonded to so I'm very nervous to see how this will turn out in a few months. Fellow cat owners does pheromones help with moving stress???

f you live in Houston don't use AB Moving------they say they have insurance---but they won't pay you if they screw up your possessions. We had many things come up missing. A safe--how can you loose a safe? Our DL and marriage license is gone. Title to a truck is gone. It was in the safe --who looses a safe.??

When I move, I just pack a suitcase like I'm going away. So clothes make-up, body wash, hand wash toilet paper, as extras!
