The Sd.Kfz.234/1 or 20mm Puma is an absolute menace in low tier tank battles. It is an incredibly fast armored car with an autocannon that shreds anything. I don't know what Gaijin was thinking putting it so low, but it's one of the most busted tanks in War Thunder.

At this BR range all nations teams are hit or miss
Also funilly enough Germany absolutely stomps at this BR

The turret traverse was buffed a month or two ago...it used to be around 11 degrees a second; it was also a 1.7 BR vehicle before the buff. The SD.kfz 140/1 was also buffed; it was when the Snail added the Sd.kfz 222.
Geez. These two vehicles with the same traverse speed as the 222. That’s insane.
Oh good then. I remember testing it when it first came and the turret was extremely slow.

This tank initially had a scouting feature... But was removed...
Hey spookston, would you be willing to give war thunders single missions a try? I think it will be informative about the effort gaijin puts into their game.
The Dakka Puma (20mm) used to have god awful traverse for what it was due to it being made manually cranked while the Pz. II with the same turret has the electric turret traverse. They gave the puma the Pz. Dakka turret.

Pretty sure both vehicles always used to have 14°/s traverse but now the 234/1 has the same traverse rate as the 222 which seems absurdly fast with 40°/s. It’s faster than even the FlaK 38 found on the Flakpanzers.
He's right, it used to be much slower, and it was still amazing.
Pro tip: if you're having trouble controlling a puma at high speeds (or any other fast vehicle) try driver assist mode! Press whatever keybind you assigned to it, and as long as you hold it, you're pretty much steering with the mouse, insanely useful to keep vehicles like this under control at high speeds.
When your damage output is measured in dps while everyone else is in dpm
I wound up getting a couple days short for getting the Obj 279 so I settled for this instead, and by God am I happy I did.
I worked like a maniac to get this and the Obj 279, them and the p59 are my brain dead trio

@@ICECAPPEDSKY The Pak Puma is my dream tank for Germany, I would take Gaijin adding a 2nd chance to get it over the Panther II or 10.5 Tiger any day. I do have Pak Track but its just not the same without the ridiculous speed.
The fact that this vehicle used to have 64mm of pen was downright criminal
that went for all of the german 20mm now you cant even side pen a sherman hardly anymore....

yeah i dont think 64mm pen for an autocannon is balanced when you're facing reserves, consider the flakpanzers and panzer 2s are still the most busted low tier tanks even after the nerf
@@theoneandonlyartyom yeah panzer 4 with long 75 aphe and apcr at 3.3, usa Sherman with 76mm Cannon and no apcr at 4.7 5.3 and finally apcr 5.7. This game will definitely give you cancer if you don't play germay or ussr

Keep in mind that the Puma has steering on all axles so you might think it drifts more than it really does.

Funny I had a 16 kill 6k masterpiece yesterday and at 2.7 with the 50mm puma getting about half of it......love the vehicle it's amazing

You should play the Japanese top-tier Type 93. I've seen some gameplay of it and it is quite funny. It has a top speed of 125 km/h, and I heard you like fast vehicles, so I feel like you'd enjoy playing it for your viewers!

Yup, absolutely a monster. I started grinding Sweden, and these things are the bane of my existence when on the opposing side, and my absolute favorite friendly vehicle.
Your videos always make me excited to watch them. The game play and suffering make them relatable.
for those wondering, the Sdkfz.222 is basically the same thing (has the same gun and pretty much the same turet) on the Sdkfz 221 chassis, at BR 2.0.
it's about as fast, not as maneuvrable, but considerably smaller too
downside is that it has about as much armour as a L3

Hey Spookston, lately a found myself playing KV-85 and it's an absolute beast for 4.7 and gets a decent amount of downtiers as well, you should give it a try.
this with the black camo is one of my favourite menace machines
and im glad missions dont allow for tanks under tier 3 to be used cus i would be using them a whole lot more often

Hey spookston, it would be nice if you were to compare the first Abrams you unlock (M1 Abrams) vs the last one (M1A2 SEP), it would probably not be gameplay but i would really watch it.
The M1 sucks, the M1A2 sucks less but still has the worst weakspots in the game at top tier besides Arietes.

I think it would be interesting to see you play the Strv m/41 S-II. Its essentially a Swedish Panzer 38 with APDS. At 2.7. I have been grinding Sweeden recently and it seems totally broken until you have to fight an Su-122 or T-50. Otherwise it's quite good.
The driftiness is a feature not a bug. It has all-wheel steering so when you turn right the back of the vehicle goes left.

Hey Spook, you should play the Semovente 75/46 M43. It's a deeply overshadowed italian tank destroyer which can deliver an heavy punch but it's deeply ignored the potential it has.

The chinese got the sdkfz 222, not the 234. Exact same turet as this one (standard 20mm turet for scout vehicules) but 4 wheel and not 8 still fast and dangerous too
How does this compared to the 50mm Puma? I just came back to WT this time picking the chinese tech tree but it doesn't feel much different to the 50mm puma to me:
day 10 : you should try the jagdtiger sometime. it's extremly slow, doesn't have a turret, gets uptiers all the time, and most importantly, you'll have to play with german teams. the very definition of suffering

Hey spookston you should revisit the T54E1, with the recent APDS changes it has an insanely powerful APDS round that pretty much pens anything.

little hidden gem that i have founded when i grinded the kill skins for it is the t26e with that little addon armor it is able to bounce most 20mm and even some cannon shell
This vehicle is a blast, especially with playing with Leo's. I was playing with two there friends, and was keeping pace. Managed to shred a ZSU-23-4 and then got spapped by a KPZ-70. Was worth the God Mode. Or just driving full speed in a straight line sideways and not getting hit casue your fast as huck bro.

I got the 140/1 back when the starter pack was on sale for only $2. I have it in a lineup with the DAK, the puma, the 222, the normal panzer 2 and the flakpanzer. The lineup is named "violence"

Since you tried the 20mm Puma, you should try the mid tier puma, the Pak Puma (75mm).
Driving through those streets reminds me of one of CoD 1's (or 2, can't remember) Africa campaign missions.
The TES5 Skyrim battle song really suits the Char B1 bis when it comes around that corner - I'd probably freak out if I was basically in an armoured car against that beast.
Since you can use event rank 1 event vehicles to grind events now, this has been my go to event grinder.

The puma is a very cool tank it’s basically the AA squeezed boi but of course just slapped the 20mm on the puma so it’s a very good and fast tank I’ve wanted to get it for a while now but cause. Y email doesn’t work I sadly can’t get any marketplace tank. Bur overall it’s a nice and very fun tanks anyways Like always nice video and I’m glad I managed to make it early.
Can you switch emails? I had to swap emails like 3 years ago and used old purchases that I had made as proof for the Gaijin customer support.
