  • Here is a quick view of what NMEA 2000 Data can be displayed and how it functions on the Humminbird SOLIX. This is connected to my Yamaha 250 SHO. Hope it helps you learn more what all a Humminbird can do!

Si the NMEA 2000 is strictly for later model engines that can adapt to it. Other than that with Humminbird & Minn Kota theirs nothing else to use that port on the Back of A Solix fore. If I'm understanding correctly. Thanks for another great Video

i just hooked up my 115 sho to the helix 12. I cant get the fuel guage to work or fuel remaining to work. The helix doesnt give me any option to set up my tank size or anything like that. It does show the fuel use reset but thats it. Am i missing something?

Sold me on Solix 12, how do I connect to Yamaha 115 SHO??

You need NMEA 2K Backbone to connect SOLIX to Backbone and also components from Yamaha to Connect Motor to the NMEA 2K Backbone

Watched the install video and you mention the backbone unit. I’m new to all this. Is that part of the motor?
Will this hook directly to a new Suzuki Df200a?

NMEA Backbone is sourced from the numerous suppliers of NMEA 2000 Network Cables and you will need to talk to your motor supplier to what is required and if they offer NMEA 2000 compatibility. The Humminbird SOLIX allows direct connection to the NMEA 2000 Backbone cable.

Could I take this and replace it with the build in Lorance in a Nitro Z21. The Lorance is used to show the same stuff as that.

Yes you can if you have the Lowrance NMEA2000 Network you can use that connection to hook direct to the Humminbird SOLIX

No link. Bur NMEA 2000 is an industry standard protocol for connection and data transfer. Doesn't matter brand they must work together.

The NMEA 2000 Gauge it will work for sure but the specific boat functions I will have to see if that is a function of NMEA 2000 or special software for that boat only. Neat idea but I also think of the consequences if something has and you have no control of your boat.
