      I do lots of video to hep others and testing and have a variety of units and generations of units so I don't have to disassemble system and reassemble to test or video. Blessed to have opportunities to help others. Thanks

    Great video Doug. Wish you did more. I have a Mega 360 on order with a Gen3N Helix Mega 10 DI waiting. Hope you make a video on the Mega 360 one day.

    Doug,
    Was just about to purchase two 12” screens and the 360, than at that last minute discovered that 360 mounts are not available on the wireless trolling motors. My question is, have you ever considered how the 360 could possible be mounted, a custom fab, to one of minn kota’s three wireless trolling motors. Alternatively, I understand there is a hull mount 360 transducer which requires that a hole be drilled through the bottom of the boat. Do you have experience with this. I fish a great deal of heavy moss and a 360 trolling motor mount could be an issue.

    Great vid. Which helix unit (screen size/pixels) has better clarity when using the 360? Also does a mega imaging unit make any difference since the 360 isn't utilizing a mega imaging transducer?

      @DougVahrenberg  Před 6 lety

      HELIX 10 has the Highest Pixel Count Per Inch which gives more clarity but the image is smaller. I was running HELIX 10 at the bow but I use HELIX 12 often for 360 Imaging because of the size of screen. It's a combination of both for details and ease of seeing the details. MEGA Imaging is only for the DI & SI same pixels in the screen so there is no difference in details displayed on the screen.

    you should do a video of how you run all your graphs on tournament or practice day

    • @DougVahrenberg
      @DougVahrenberg  Před 6 lety +1

      Not much difference. I use less Imaging at the console and more mapping to get to the places I have already found to fish is probably the biggest differences. But that would be a cool video. I'll add it to the list of ideas.

    Hi Doug do you have a video on how the heading sensor works with the 360? I’m installing both 360 and HS/gps and trying to understand how they work together. I’ve herd that the heading sensor will allow for accurate waypoints when using 360. How is that when the hummingbird units already have gps in them? Thanks

    Thank u DV, I'm holding off with HOPE the 360 is upgraded! I'm upgrading my solex 12 on the helm to the bow and putting the Solex 15 w/Awesome mega image at the helm. I also know you're a diehard Skeeter owner! I'm getting a Skeeter myself soon. Question is there a structural difference between FX vs ZX? Besides the bells and whistles, the trailer's are a given but what the key differences? Thanks in advance!

    • @DougVahrenberg
      @DougVahrenberg  Před 6 lety +1

      Not sure what you want upgraded. 360 is amazing as is. There is no comparison between Skeeter FX & ZX totally different hulls and boats. FX is like driving a fine Imported Sports Car. ZX is like Muscle Car fun but not in the same league for total package of handling and features.

    I see your using this on a Helix10 what model is it. Would the 360 work just fine on strictly a Di unit or what do you suggest. Price is important for the retired part Time fisherman these day. Love all your Vedeos. I watch them all. Thank You

    Doug, what are the images within the black circle? I get an abundance of returns within. I've never seen many fish returns looking forward, always under the boat. I will try Brandon's settings. I see that your doing more with your settings. I will get back on the water as soon as I swap out my mega transducer. Stopped by HB and they gave me a new one.

    • @DougVahrenberg
      @DougVahrenberg  Před 5 lety

      Those are fish below or away from the boat. If your in 30' of water and see returns at 20' range they are either 20 below you to 20' out to the side of you. Watch the shadows that means they are suspended in the water down and to the side.

      @@DougVahrenberg alright, I can deal with that...ok another question. I have a helix 12 Gn2 SI Mega. Ok now I already had a splitter cable for my 1198C and everything worked perfect. Now upon upgrading units I was unable to acquire DI but SI was spot on to include switchfire. So HB gave me a new transducer in which it had done the same exact thing with no DI view. So I came back home and plugged the mega ducer in straight and came back to the lake and I had DI views along with SI views, but no bottom coverage with switchfire. I can't remember what was the splitter cable number for my 1198C, but they told me that 9M SIDB Y is the cable that I need. I wish I knew if there was a mega splitter cable????

    • @DougVahrenberg
      @DougVahrenberg  Před 5 lety

      There is different Y cable for MEGA Imaging units that the previous models since MEGA has dedicated DI element you need the MEGA Imaging Version: 9M SI DB Y humminbird.johnsonoutdoors.com/accessories/cables/9-m-sidb-y-9-pin-side-imaging-dual-beam-splitter-cable

    Thinking about buying the 360. I have helix 10 mega at console and two helix 7’s on the deck all networked. Two questions:
    1) if I buy now am I going to see an upgraded version come out this winter and regret it? I know that is hard to predict but thought I’d ask.
    2) I have a fish and ski that sets up out of the water more than a bass boat. I have a minn Kota Terrova with a 54” shaft which I know is huge so is this going to cause me issues?
    I fish lake of the ozarks as my home lake and finding brush piles is a must!

    • @DougVahrenberg
      @DougVahrenberg  Před 5 lety

      360 does not fit on the Terrova. There are some third party companies selling some accessories but I have no experience with them. Or you can use a transom style that mounts on the back of the boat for 360 Imaging. It may hard to see small details on the HELIX 7 and the 7's would need to be Network version to use 360.

    • @davidbrandjr657
      @davidbrandjr657 Před 5 lety +1

      How is the imaging on the transom mount? Is it almost as good as the trolling motor mount? I’ve heard you can offset your boat positioning on the screen if mounted on the back

    • @DougVahrenberg
      @DougVahrenberg  Před 5 lety

      It's the same 360 Transducer just difference in mounting method. You can set 360 Offset Position. I've done videos of the original 360 which was all transom mount.

    Doug, Which transducer are you reading the deep from? Have helix 12 at the console, and helix 10 on the bow and will likely add a 10 or 12 to the bow this offseason.

    My dad is looking to upgrade from an 1197 to either onix helix or solixbut I'm not sure what the difference is on them. If you could give me the short answer without having to watch all the videos I would appreciate it. Thanks a million.

      ONIX was replaced by the SOLIX and are the Premier/Flagship Product for Humminbird. They have more advanced and expandable operating system and feature crosstouch screen touch buttons or touch screen. HELIX replaced the Core Series of units and are the breadn butter units with time proven reliable operating system. Button only control.

    • @DougVahrenberg
      @DougVahrenberg  Před 6 lety

      SOLIX can share all. You've given me new idea for a Video Series and will work on this since I have a wide variety of units on this boat.

    Hey Doug, just got a boat with 360 but but no compatible graph for it up front. Looking at helix 10 gen3 or can get helix 12 gen2 for $200 more. Your opinion, should I go with technology or screen size you think as far as between these two? Thanks for input.
