I feel like they understood Price in MW2019 but they must've fired the writer for MW2019 cuz MW22 & 23 are just not as good as 2019.
Well, the original writers left back in 2021 *or was it 2020?* so the sign was there.
Ya I remember reading an article in like 2020 I believe that the original writers left. Makes sense why the story went so downhill ever since with the multiple plot holes

You can tell in this video perfectly the shift in the direction of the campaing between MW19 and MWII.
Writers were changed, MW19 aimed and prepared the story to be a more grounded milsim like COD 4 with some action from classic military movie references...
MWII and MWIII be like: Add Fast and Furious/Marvel to Modern Warfare 🤓
MW19 Clean house & Lone wolf (I think it was called) made you feel like a an actual SF team moving on a terrorist cell. They have failed to keep that feeling.

That's where we could have had more cold war flash back missions of that type to build on the Zakiev handing off to the Barkov & Makarov story line.
MWII at least had excellent characters, Story was odd but otherwise it was good, mwIII is worse then vangaurd tho.

The exact point the MW story unravels is Recon By Fire because it turns into DMZ, and then Convoy turns into a Warzone vehicle section, and every mission after doesn't hit the same.

Old Shepherd was way better than the new one. He was a man of action, he got his hands dirty and was very pragmatic with the things he done. His men would fight to the death, and be sacrificed on a daily basis just so his plans could see the light of day.
The new one was just a pen pusher. He sent his men to do the dirty work and hid himself behind a curtain or smoke and mirrors, and not even his men were loyal to him, like it was shown in the courtroom scene.
I mean he's a politician in the new mw so it makes sense while he was a patriotic general in the original

I do like how Reboot Shepherd takes his death like a man. He knows Price is going to kill him and doesn't beg or show fear. He even is snarky in response to Price's quips before he dies. It makes me like him more as a villain and IMO makes him feel much more competent than before that scene. One of the very few good things to come out of MWIII for me.
I mean the newest one is more realistic, which the reboot is always trying to do. You won't see a three-star much less a fucking four-star general out there in the field. We get a prime example of what can happen out there to a general when we fucking obliterated Gorbrahni with a missle.

Man MW2019 promised sooo much.... It was soo good and then MW2 and MW3 totally fell flat.
MW2019 Clean House mission is better than those 2 games combined
imo the mw2 reboot is still a good one, but mw3 is so disappointing

Thing is, with lower graphics games you can modify them any time and make them more interesting anytime, you can. Now With ULTRA GOOD GRAPHICS, you want to edit something to make it more fun, and you have to pay a whole developer team for weeks to do that.
they end up not editing the game and reviewing it because its simply not worth the money of nowdays graphics

to give a bit more context, and i am no expert but im informed enough to understand that the OP viewpoint is naive, with new age games its about the complexity of the models, that is more vertexes = harder to render and also attributing to more complex collisions, and then shaders which draw a heavy load from the gpu because of highly multithreaded processes, these are what makes new age games so "ultra good" compared to older games, but they have virtually no effect on the actual mechanics nor the process for making mechanics, bullet trajectory works exactly the same way, movement and physics works exactly the same way, the only thing that has changed between now and the first shooter game ever made in that regard is our increasing ability to simulate reality (pendantic way to say more realistic physics), the graphics have little to no effect on the mechanics, the only thing i can really think of is collision logic and bounding boxes which what im guessing is its moved from simple polygon bounding boxes to using the actual mesh geometry itself as the bounds (i forgot what thats called but it has a name), the real issue is the sheer amount of work put into the graphics which takes away from the mechanics, i wonder how many people spend time on the actual game design
im also forgetting the increasing complexity of the uv's/texturemaps or whatever, the texture complexity im assuming sort of scales with the model complexity

OG MODERN WARFARE was so memorable and the story was direct to the point no shitty cut scene... And I also remember some few dialogues on the OG...

Idk why but the voice actors for Soap and Price in MW3 2023 decided to just deepen their voice for no apparent reason and it makes them sound like edgy GMod admins.
ghost's voice sounds the most natural even though hes the most edgy one there

All of them doing it probably means they were told to talk deeper, or some editing was done to make it sound deeper.
The MW reboot lacks two things that would elevate them a lot: A memorable score and a better tension build-up during the campaigns. The reboot campaigns feel too much like they're going nowhere archwise and the music is forgettable at best.
Yes!!! I was actually getting invested with the mw2 reboot score but then they drop this doo doo only cool music is the campaign menu music at best..
as long as you disregard that mw3 exists, the reboots are not bad.
MW3 2023 was the Most Mid one out there. Mw 2019 and Mw 2022 are decent and can patch my needs.

Personally i think this represents the different eras of the military. now im not a military guy however it felt like back in the day there were less protocols and you could 'improvise' or go off the books in a sense. unlike today where everything has to be documented and all the congress hearings and such. nonetheless OGMW2 for the win

I think you can't change by any way who were Soap and Price in the original Modern Warfare, it was another mistake of Activision
The worst part about this is if Call of Duty had been anything other then Modern Warfare with the plot botched (The reboots are forcing it too much) then Price might be fine. Since he's been showing up even if killed since the first Call of Duty. Just don't put him in a reboot.

the thing you guys dont understand (that are complaining about the story and graphics) you need to understand that the aproach taken in the OG COD was more dramatic giving it a bit more fun to play arround and the new reboot is more realistic as they say "reality is often disappointing", which is the case here. In todays worlds, conflicts are handled more behind the door then in the open so yh i do agree that the OG was more fun but i cant complain about the new one being more realistic

the older games are just so much better in every way possible, story, voice actors, character models, I cant help but think the new MW tries too hard to be the old MW, think they would've done better if they just gave us something completely fresh rather than reusing (and ruining) a good few OG characters like Gaz,Soap,Ghost (only thing wrong with ghost is the character model now that the old voice actor is back that's good but the character model looks so shit, looks like an anime nerd designed him, was fine with makarov although he doesn't seem to have that same eerie evil essence the old makarov seemed to have, dunno just think the new MW tries too hard to be something its not
The interrogation of Valeria is the biggest crap in modern cod, is a joke in older COD's she will be tortured in the new ones, they just talk and negotiate and the person magically give up all information.
They didn't even kill or captured that lady.
i dont thnk this campaign deserved as much hate as it got but its easy to understand why it did when they failed to recapture the magic of the originals so badly. that being said somehow i find the new version of gen shepherd to be even more deplorable and hate-able than the original despite the fact that his betrayal is much less straight forward and brutal.

MW3 2023 was rushed most deffently i think if u take away gameplay nad u just watch the cutsecnes its good but if u throw it in its really fucking bad, also i dont like i have to keep up with the warzone stories to know why Alex / Graves are alive i wish if they where gonna reintroduce these people it should have been done in this game or in the next games campaign it also dosent make any sense of why like Valriea Aleandrjo wasnt even mentioned other then like, the court scene, they said that this is like to get the for seen "Modern Warfare 4" that we never got witch is fine but i didnt want it like this- i wanted a good campaign game play like MW2019 AND MW2 2022, Then MW3 Comes out another good campaign, Then MW4 with like 2 year gaps while remastering the older games like resident evil is doing, where they did RE2 RE3 RE4 then after RE2 - 3 We got 8 then DLC then 4 Then i think its gonna be RE6 Re, then 9 DLC, Then another DLC or a rush on 10 i think activision is taking that mindset from capcom. The original Price feels more like a villain, or at least not a hero. He feels like a bad person. The new one feels like a good person who does bad things for a good reason

To be honest, both Prices are pretty much the same, the only difference is that MW19 actually had Price explain why he is so brutal in his methods, vs the Original Price who's never actually called out on it. MW19 tried more to make Price have a reason for why he's willing to get his hands dirty and his perception of the world around him.
