"Stop Me If You Think You've Heard This One Before" is a song by the English rock band the Smiths, written by singer Morrissey and guitarist Johnny Marr. The song was first released on the group's 1987 album Strangeways, Here We Come. Marr's music features a larger sound, courtesy of a 12-string Gibson ES-335, and one of his few guitar solos with the Smiths. Morrissey's lyrics allude to alcohol and deception.

There is a breathless, relentless, stream-of-consciousness vibe about this song resolving in the oddly plaintive but very northern English couplet - ‘Who said I lied because I never, I never/ Who said I lied because I never’. One of my many favourite Smiths songs: you sing it extremely well, Adam.
Awesome version mate, really good. This is one of those where the melody is based around a few tension notes, with that constantly shifting Marr harmony. When he finally resolves the tension in the melody (e.g. 'my-y-y-love') it just sounds so good.
The original has evolved.this is beautiful..on the next step, beyond..
