thanks for the video and cute sounds of your daughter playing. i found when i took apart the switch that there was just dirty parts during the manufacturing process. so i used a file and cleaned off the contacts. there seems to be a pcb board with single lcd in the center with a power regulation board underneath that. often the cheapest part is the one that makes the item not work like spring, switch, adapter plug, etc.
Helpful👍.. the reason the white part you removed was not fitting is that the metal part (flat conductor) protruding out from the black part needs to be adjusted to fit in the white part tightly..
On my two year old T6 the torch appeared to be quite dim compared to new. When doing continuity test on the tail switch, found that it varied between 11 and 30 ohms, replacing the switch solved the problem. It looks as if the original switch was underrated for the load causing it to run warm guring full power use.
what is the purpose of the small metal piece coming out of the side of the switch? I'm doing a reverse engineering project and am confused as to how these switches work

So when the button is depressed and makes contact with both contact strips, the circuit is completed -this is my understanding... The smaller contact seems to only make contact with the inside of the tail cap shell, so I am confused as to how the circuit works. Do you have any insight into this?
@@UltimateDIY so essentially when you press the button the central pin joins the two contacts together. What is the path of electricity then? From the battery to the pill and then to the LED then back through the casing to the tail cap where the contact points are connected by the central pin... Then back to the battery I assume? This may be a stupid question but if electricity goes through the casing how does that not electrocute the user?
That I think is the path. It's only about 4V and also, you are only touching one of the polarities at a time. For electrocution you would need to touch both and the voltage would need to be about 50V in dry and 25V in wet (that is for AC, for DC I don't know)
I thought for sure my problem would be solved with your fix, but it still doesn't work. It's not even a year old, but naturally, there is no warranty. I feel ripped off!
As an engineering etc with 42+ years experience, I can tell you push button switches are garbage. There is no wiping action to keep the contacts clean.

I've had a 500$ flashlight and I've had several of these and quite a few others of various price THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME DAMN SWITCH

It basically takes electricity from the central pin to the case when you press the button.
