Sertab Erener (born 4 December 1964) is a Turkish singer, songwriter and composer. With her coloratura soprano voice, she started working as a backing vocalist for Sezen Aksu, and with Aksu's help she released her first studio album in the 1990s. Because of her education in classical music, she initially had difficulties in performing pop music. Although she did experimental works from time to time, she eventually preferred to focus on making pop music instead of avant-garde works, in order to make her music heard by a larger audience.

I'm a brazilian who loves to find out new music from different countries. I discovered that song a few years ago and even though I don't understand the lyrics, it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen when it comes to voice. I absolutely love her

Love the way she knows extremely well when her voice will pop with the microphone when she thins her vocal chords for opera parts, and moves her head/mouth away from the microphone so often to avoid that, that's really experience..
Not to mention the violinist.. she was amazing as well especially the solo at 07:39

The voice has often been described as an instrument and I really get the sense that she is 'sitting in with the band' literally and figuratively and 'jamming' with them as one of the group...

Sertab is a master vocal artist with his own vocal techniques. she became the champion in the Eurovision contest in 2003. There is no way you can criticize his level.
There is no Arab influence in the song or its singing. I do not agree.
you missed her point. she's taking about the short, heavy vibrations she adds in a couple of points, which is reminiscent of ululation (though different from it). this is not usually found in western music as she does it, it's different from your standard vibrato.

There was a live version with demir demirkan (couldn'T find it on YT but found it on dailymotion) where the "ooo" transition is much smoother. Although maybe it sounds like that as the quality of the video is terrible :D

please react to NF, he is a criminally underrated artist who can sing and rap and he has some very famous songs too!! He also has amazing music videos with scenes that feel like movies and the cinematography is done so well. I think you would enjoy reacting to some of his songs.

I understand why you prefer live videos, but I would recommend an artist by Portugal (perhaps your first video) of a studio song. It's by the greatest singer songwriter this country ever had, called José Afonso. He had a unique timbre. I'm sure you'll love it. Don't need to understand. Just feel.

don't really enjoy listening to Sertab's pop-style rendition. She breaks down each phrase into pieces with that downtuning at the end of words, and it doesn't give a sense of the overall cohesion of the phrase. Moreover, there are a bunch of out-of-tune sounds added there (sometimes). In her classical rendition, she doesn't do this. 🤷😕
Not true at all she sings very clearly in general every word. This is a acoustic Version and gives her maybe a other feeling . Shes not out of tune at all . Is very hard in sitting hitting such long and high notes .
