It was 2020, remember? Italy was in lockdown. The streets were empty, he's performing in an empty Arena di Verona, which is still used for opera, and even pop music concerts. It is over 2000 years old.
This song became an anthem (Fai Rumore, that is, make noise) for Italians stuck at home who sang it from balconies and windows.
The Verona Arena is a Roman amphitheater - like the Colosseum but 50 years older - built in 30 AD. It is still in use today and is used for opera and contemporary performances, music, theatre.
And yes, in 2030 two thousand years will have passed since its construction.

Arena di Verona has around 1900 years of age, it was built by the Romans, it can't be used as a soccer field. The Arena was empty because of the lockdown.

Fai rumore means maje noise it's a song about distance and incommunicability that's why it took a special meaning under covid19 lockdown. When you've lost somebody but that person is still within you and no matter what you do wherever you go her/his essence stats you and the silence if her phisical absence become so unbearable that you would like to shout fai rumore make noise. That year Eurovision was cancelled and a tv show named "shine a light" was organized in lieu by EBU and the Dutch broadcaster for which every country in tge contest except Belgium provided a clip of their act performing the song that would have competed. It was not a contest just an occasion to shine a lught in ths dark moment everybody was living. Italy sent this clio with Diodato performing in.a empty Arena surrounded by empty streets in Verona.
