Starting at 6:54, your face is me with every Sohyang performance ;) Arirang Alone was first one I saw from her and it totally drew me into her world. It's pure magic. Rarely we see such performances these days I think. Love your analysis on So Hyang performances you've done, hope your channel grows very fast. I think your English is great and I understand everything. Also enjoyed first video in Italian. Like tyler already suggested please do "Everyone" next. It's a Korean gospel song and this performance is another masterpiece by So Hyang, especially since it's her main genre. It's like spiritual journey/experience.
If I could make another suggestion, I'd absolutely love to hear your analysis on Lisa Gerrard, Australian singer. I don't recall any vocal coach ever reacting to her and she's an amazing contralto (true one), that is so rare. I'm not sure if you know her (many people really don't) but for general public I think she's most known for Gladiator movie music score "Now We Are Free" and "Dead Can Dance" band There is an amazing performance of song "Sacrifice" that is truly haunting. did you know that sohyang is the professor of music in Southern Korea University ? she is that accomplished in 1996 she almost didn't have a start at all as she just got married but then got cancer in her reproductive system she prayed to god that if he helped he she would dedicate her life to him .. as a result she cant have any children but 23 years later she is a strong god fearing singer she won numerous competitions so much so that she dropped out of competing so others would have a chance to win I just love her so much and to think she s almost 42 and still going strong

I love so Hyang . She is fantastic. But I have a request that you react to her closest and best friend, “Park Ki Young”, I like Park Ki Young because they have about the same vocal range but Park Ki Young is a tad more versatile and can belt them with equal emotional impact and power in rock, pop, soul, jazz flamenco, and classical ( opera).

Arirang is a mythical mountain in early Korean history but no one knows where the mountain exists or where the word truly comes from ... there are many versions of Arirang songs depending on the Region ... this particular version is associated with the Korean War and the suffering pain and loss of the families who have been cut off from one another in the North and South due to the War and since because of the DMZ many of the references are metaphors to the separation and the Korean peoples hopes and dreams for reunification ... there have only been I think 2 instances in the last 70 years where where the North and South have allowed families to meet briefly and this song was sang at both meetings also The S. Korean Ice Dance team used So Hyangs version to skate to at the Winter Olympics in S.Korea ... this song is considered the 2nd National Anthem of the South and every living soul in S. Korean knows it ... if you go back and look at the lyrics now you will see more meaning embedded within them ... in addition I should also mention that Dokdo is an actual small Island "in the east sea" that is Korean and acknowledged as such in Historical records but there has been a dispute over it with Japan for many years because Japan has tried to claim it as belonging to them ... there is a camera on 24 hours a day 7 days a week to keep watch on it

Most reactions to this don't talk about her movements and I'm glad you did because it's something I noticed right away. This song to me feels like waves taking a ship home, and the way she moves her hands and body feel like the wind in the sails.

Another gem of a singer that might be hard to find outside of reaction videos, because she is so new to professional music, is an woman who goes by "Yebba." Her actual name is Abbey Smith, she's from America, and has unreal vocal abilities, she also pours her heart into every performance, I think you would really appreciate her. The traditional video to start with is "My Mind" at Sofar New York, it's the performance that started everything for her. It was her first time performing an original song. If you react to it I will continue with some more backstory there, her journey has been an incredible one! She and So Hyang are the top two active vocalists around in my book, so I know all about her! (She is only just starting to work on her first album, so you also won't need to worry about copyright issues with her, which is a nice bonus)
Yebba is a gem. I do know her already 💖 it's on my list too I will surely do a video about her!!

ARIRANG contains a series of mixed emotions, called as a.k.a "HAN" in Korean, such as sadness, happiness, hardness, bittersweet, anger, melancholy and wish/hope all in one as a accumulated blackhole. Since Korea had been invaded by China and Japan for last five thousand years, they underwent so many tragedies being slaved, kidnapped, raped, and murdered. In spite of these, Koreans could overcome against internal and external issues by hardworking while being formed as song formation when they were working. This why ARIRANG feels like a bomb of so many kinds of emotions.
I do appreciate to those countries saved Korea from Japan's illegal occupation/colonization. We could not see the light of independence if those countries did not help us against Japan. Thank you, world. Thank you USA.
