Man, you have taught me so much about Sony, Canon and Fuji cameras but more importantly, I’ve struggled with understanding aperture, ISO and shutter speed after watching so many other channels try to explain it but you have some strange power to finally help me understand the relationship of those three…FINALLY! I’ve been binge-watching your videos and just wanted to finally leave you a comment saying thank you for your consistent delivery to those of us who aspire to become better photographers and videographers. Your camera and product reviews are so helpful and your reinforcing basic knowledge throughout your videos in such a personal direct way like we’re hanging out with you in your studio is extremely unique and welcoming to view. Please keep it up! 👍👏
Wow, what an incredibly kind and thoughtful message. Thank you for taking the time to share this, it means a lot.
@markwiemels what accessory I need to buy if I would like to use my alpha lens on my ZV E10?

Great info. This will help a lot of people with Canon EF glass grab a little ZV-E10!!
hi mark
Please get and test against native lenses!
It's shocking how well it works.
@@markwiemels I don't understand! Adapters always have focus issues. How did they do this to be like native?!
@@chowhar I have no idea, I’m only sharing what I’m experiencing. This one is a new release, so maybe the technology has improved.
Thank you so much for the great tutorials, please do more videos for Sony ZVE 10, im so grateful for video like this!
Thank you for sharing this information. A new revelation for me.
Owner of Sony ZVE10 here, yea stay with the kits lens until got the money to buy better lens for my vlogging & studio. It will take time but I agree with you. Will buy the adapter.
This was so helpful you just got my sub. Appreciate this man. I’m looking into starting my journey in photography and this helps me a lot
Great to hear!
Just got a zv-e10 such an awesome little hybrid camera! The Sony 11mm f1.8 is my next buy.
I think the Viltrox 13mm is better than the Sony 11, just my opinion, it also goes to 1.4 and had less distortion, being 13 instead of 11.
I’m going to buy the adapter and the 18-35mm to try it out. Thank you for your video! I’ve been looking to find a good overall lense with a big aperture. New to video world but I’m excited to try this out. Thanks again 🤝🏻😎
Hi Mark thanks for sharing! I just bought my ZVE10 and had money just for 1 lens (viltrox 23mm F1.4). I hard about the adapter but didn't know the advantages you pointed out .
Great info man!
Thank you for this. I went ahead and bought it
Awesome, I think you will enjoy it. Just as an additional tip, that I should have included in the video. It can be a bit of a 2 in 1 lens, with the look you can get, it has a really interesting vintage look at f0.95, but stop it down to f1.4 or f2.0 and the image starts to look more like a modern lens, with higher contrast.
Thank you so much for this video .
Thanks for the video. Which budget lens would you recommend for food photography?
thanks for the info. very informative
You are most welcome.
Excellent video!! New subscriber🎉 I just bought the sony Zve10. Could you recommend a macro lens? I want to record videos and take photos of jewelry
Hey thanks great info!!
I have the zve-10, 18-35, and the mc-11 adapter. Maybe the 7artisans is better than the sigma adapter, but mine does not function as well as a native Sony lens or a native e Mount sigma lens. If you are pulling focus manually, then the issues don't matter and this lens is just beautiful to shoot both photo and video. While it does have continuous autofocus in video, it hunts like crazy past the 30mm focal length and at 35 the hunting occurs 50% of the time becoming essentially too unreliable to use. The hunting issue goes up considerably when using active stabilization to try and squeeze out additional reach There are a few other quirks I have noticed, like the focus assist magnification in DMF doesn't work, and the only way to put it in manual focus is with the switch on the side, and because of that I can't pull focus manually on my weebill s gimbal through a usb connection. Again, if you are focusing manually, or are behind the camera and can run your scene again if you experience hunting issues, then this lens is in a class of it's own. Really too bad sigma hasn't re-released this for e Mount, it would be the best selling aps-c lens by a mile. Fyi my lens and adapter are fully updated with the latest firmware.
I will have some tests of this adapter, with that lens, on the channel soon.
Great video Mark, any suggestions or recommendations for Nikon FX lens bracket accessory out there?
Is the adapter available for other mounts like Nikon F.. (as in F lens-to-Sony E camera)? Great video. I'm shocked by the 1.5k view count it deserves WAY better than that.
Wow! So having followed you using my M50 mks i & ii where I bought a speedbooster and various adapters for EF/EF-S lenses (including the Canon 50mm f1.8 & f1.4, shorty forty, 85mm f1.8) to find I could use them natively on the ZV-E10 is an interesting proposition. Many thanks Mark for the heads up.
great idea thx u. i just brought ZVE10 and looking for a lens.💖
Thank u for the vid!!
Awesome info!. Any recommendation for a macro lens for dental photography?
Thank you SO much for this video. Could you recommend a good Canon wide angle lens that would work with the adapter and my ZV-E10?
i´ve tried 2 adapters on my sony a6000 for ef lenses. both for around 90 bucks and with both i couldnt use continuous autofocus when shooting video. in the end spent 600 bucks and bought the tamron 17-70 2.8 as an amazing alrounder.
Thank you for nice info, Mark Wiemels
You are most welcome.
I think you should mention "AUTO FOCUS WORKS WITH ADAPTOR!" in the beginning of the video. For a long time we have an impression that yeah adaptor works, you can put any lens on it, but you lost that AF, which is a deal-breaker. Until 4:55 finally I know OK, AF works, this can work. Because AF is important for most people, so it should be mentioned right at the beginning. I think you should even change that video cover picture to some big bold red font of "AF Works!". That will be encouraging. Video is informative, keep it up!
I bought the ZV-E10 and started to get stressed with the money I will have to spend in lenses, I'm a canon user and I have a lot of lenses that now I can use buying the adapter, BIG THANKS FOR THE INFO!!!! you help me to save a lot of money 😀👍🏻
How to use A Mount lens on ZV E10? Thank you so much for this amazing info!!
I have the Sigma MC-11 adapter. I updated the firmware and it is going ok with Canon glasses. I haven’t use Canon glasses much but I will soon.
I love my Sigma Art Series 24-105 F4 or my 85mm f1.8 with the speed booster adapter on my ZVE10. Bought it for 120 bucks and it is a bang for the buck.
The speed booster is even better than a normal adapter, brings in more light and you get one full fstop better (f4 becomes f2.8 on the ZV-E10 and its reducing also the focal length with factor x0.71) etc. The ZV-E10 is a great second camera I always carry with me and also use it as a webcam.
A couple of great lens choices Mark. The Sigma art series is phenomenal and the 40mm pancake from canon is fantastic for the price too.
Yes, I would have bough a Sony sooner, if I knew how well my canon lenses would work!
@@markwiemels i just got a sony zv-e10 with the kit lens i want a better lens more wide for vlogging just also good for videography webcam and photography the cannon RF50mm F1.8 STM is 79.99 rn refurbished. i guess my question is is it worth buying for ALL those reasons above ? i already have a gimbal for vlogging
@@markwiemels or get wide angle adapter for kit lens ? I'm on a budget
Thank you very much for this video. This is exactly what I'm looking for. Would you please recommend 2 canon lenes where one lens has a range approximately 18mm to 105mm and a the second lens around 250mm or so that are good but don't break the bank? Any light you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
What settings are needed for autofocus on video to work with this adapter? I have a zony zv-e10 and a sigma 18-35 lens. because now it's not autofocus. I bought this adapter after watching your video. And I hoped that everything would be as you said.
Thank you for very helpful videos. I just purchased the Viltrox booster for for EF to E Mount. What good Canon zoom lenses would be the best for video and photo?
Great content! What’s your Sony Zve10 lens recommendation for a street interview shoot?
Recently I got a Sony a5100 as a present.
The unique lens I have for this camera is the 16-50mm. I have some Canon lenses like 50mm, 24mm pancake, and 35-85mm.
Would you recommend me to buy the 7artisans adapter?
I'm looking for a wide angle vlogging lens with good stabilization on it for my Sony zve10 camera. What would you recommend?
Hmm🫢 I have some Canon lenses to try with that mount 👍😄Thanks for reminding us about those lenses adapters😊
I need to know how these canon lenses compare for video and Sonys oss stabilization. Please make a video showcasing the video abilities. Thanks!!
Hi, can you make more videos about this adapter? I am using A7II and I dont want to buy the Sony 24-105mm F4 because it is so expensive! I already have my Canon 24-105mm F4L from my 5D III and wondering if that will work.
Omg! I didn’t know this Ty! I didn’t know I could use my ef sigma lens
Im looking at this camera for filming my plants and videos, as well as macro shots. Thoughts? No experiance other than using my phone
Loved this video. Do you have some examples of photos and videos shot with these lenses and this adapter. Getting a ZV-e10 for christmas for video but currently using a canon 70D for photos so I would love to be able to use my canon lenses!
There is an update video on my channel.
Excellent
I tell you , this is game changing. Like you said Sony lens are great but expensive. This allows us to use Cannon lens to expand our options, for that I thank you for sharing. So if the lens has a zoom function will that work with the ZVE10, and if the cannon lens has a manual and auto fucus switch the camera can adapt and Auto focus ? Thanks for a great video .
Yes, everything should work as per normal. It has on all the lenses I have tested, I'm shocked by how well it works.
I just bought the adapter and the sigma lens, when I try to zoom with the camera, it doesn’t work well. Sometimes it show me a pop up telling me about RAW and JPEG file! You guys know about this issue ?
Hi Mark which firmware version are you currently using on your 7artisans ef-se adapter?
What we really need is a test of the zillion E to EF adapters available when the reviews are so inconsistent and people are whining that half of them don't work half the time. Presumably, for 100 bucks the 7artisans one works very well. But I wonder if the Commlite one is just as good? Or the new Movo one? Or the Viltrox ones? Or the random weird ones nobody knows the name of even...
Hey, love the video, and just wanted to ask for any lens recommendations for basic filmmaking (short films, docus, etc.) What would you recommend?
I'll try this 7Artisans adapter. I have Canon 100mm F2.8 Macro and Viltrox Adapter but the focus doesn't work great. I hunts like crazy and never focus perfectly/ I don't know that could be the problem and not really sure if the Viltrox adapter is compatible with my ZV-E10
Hi, I got some really old lenses, made by "Soligor" and "Prospect"... Could I use them on a Sony ZV-E10 with 7Artisans' EF-SE lens adapter?
Great video!!! My question is do they also make this adapter for nikon lenses as well? Thank you.
Yes they do!
Do you have sample shots, sir, for each lens?
If one relies on eye-detect AF absolutely nailing focus in video, then one wouldn't take any risk with adapted solutions. It's cheaper if you shoot non-demanding stills or if you manual focus your video. However, if one manual focuses for video, there are so many other choices out there.
In my testing of this specific adapter, this is no difference between a native Sony lens and the canon lenses I have tested with this adapter. The performance has been identical, I am honestly shocked it works in the way that is does. I would have agreed with your comments here, until I used this adapter.
Love this! Do take note fam, you need to update the firmware or else the aperture function will be wonky, alongside its autofocus function. READ the manual by all means.
Can I use Nikon lenses also like AF-S 55-200 or NIKON AF-S 18-55 ?? is there such adapter ? with sony
zv-e10 Thank you
2 things keep me from purchasing the E10. The often mentioned rolling shutter and my concern that this late in its life cycle, a new improved model will be coming out very soon. This would be my first camera. I don't want to regret the purchase and I want it to be the only camera I buy for a long time.
Thanks, I have fixed them, i think, the site was down so I put in a few options.
good tip. but make sure you take into effect the change in the lens focal length as adding the adaptor on will change the lens focal length.
no, it doesn’t not change anything.
Idk, the lens range is one of the main reasons for choosing sony over canon. Lots of options at lots of price points without involving adapters.
Mark, does using this adapter change anything regarding the focal length since the sensor is further from the lens using this adapter? might seem like a silly question but considering how focal length determines the viewing angle, i would think we are adding a crop factor ontop of the already 1.5 crop factor an APSC camera already has.
thanks, and good video otherwise
No, no change.
If i use full frame lenses on this adapter with the ZV E10, will I get the crop factor? How it works?
Why the 50 mm has better lowlight as the kit lens? Also does the 40 mm have better lowlight too? Lowlight is important to me
amazing
Great explanation! Does the autofocus work on video mode?
Yes, I have an updated video on this, its better than the kit lens.
@@markwiemelscan you share the video results. I want to get an adapter for my zve10 but i shot mainly sports videography and need great continuous AF. Hoping i can use my Canon zoom ef lens 70-200 f2.8 on my zve10. So you know if that will work and have perfect AF for video mainly
Thank you for nice info, Mark.
I am now trying to make a decision to buy a new camera, primarily for still portrait photography. Which is the better choice between Sony ZV-E10 and Canon m50 ii.
Thank you!
I would choose the M50, it has an EVF and better raw files for photography.
@@markwiemels Thank you very much for your prompt reply. 🙏
@@markwiemels After I watched many of your videos which are very good and informative. I think I might want to invest in Sony or Fujifilm. Canon EOS M line is discontinuing in favor of EOS R. I would like to buy lenses and be able to use them in the future when I upgrade the body 😢
@@minnami778 I think that’s a reasonable choice, just don’t buy a zv-e10 for photo, it’s not a good photo camera. I personally would go Fuji.
@@markwiemels Currently in my country, the only Fujifilm model available for entry to the prosumer level are T-200 at $685and the X-S10 both with kit lens 15-45 at about $1000. Not so many options here.
This would work on any Sony camera, right? Sony A6700, for example.
Hey Mark. i have a ZV E10. Can you possibly send me the link of a good second hand site. Looking to buy that adapter and possible sony 16mm lens.
Hi - I need some help! I have an old Konica Minolta camera and I want to get back into photography but want to use the lenses I already have for the Minolta because they are AMAZING! What digital camera is compatible with Quantaray Lens? Please help! I purchased the Sony ZV-E10 because one video I watched said it was compatible with Quantaray lens since Sony bought Minolta. But I just picked up the Sony ZV-E10 today and my Minolta lenses are NOT compatible!
Ive bought this adaptor and tried it on a tamron 70-300 and a Canon75-300 image stabilisation work on both but not the Auto Focus, ive installed the latest firmware, am i doing something wrong ?
I am trying to decide if this is the right camera for me. I would primarily use it for vlogging and making videos but I am worried that the auto focus whilst taking a video makes a lot of sound? This is what I read in the comments. I would like to make videos with nice lenses to look good but I don't know what lenses to use
Get an external mic!
I got the sony zve10 and a friend gave me the sigma 18-250 lens and he told me that i have to get an adapter. Is this one good for that lens???
Can we use this adaptor with Sony A6700 as well?
But what’s the name of the adapter? I know you’ve posted a link, but I am in europe and it gives me so many different adapters XD and the links work differently when you are somewhere else …
Thank you! Are there other adapters for the Sony EV-10? This one won't be delivered until December 😫
No that I know of, that work well. Probably why this one is out of stock.
@@markwiemels I found it. Can’t wait! I also bought a lense you recommended in another video! :)
Will it work with Sigma 150-600 ?
So shall we buy kit lens or skip it?
Hello, can we also adapt canon lenses on zv-e1?
Ha, I have all those Canon lenses already, and I just bought an a6700. Nice!
But does it REALLY work great the autofocus in the Sigma 18-35 F/1.8 with this adapter on the ZV-E10? Cheers!
Yes, I have a video showing this, should be pinned in the top comment.
Very dumb question here, so sorry about that. This will work with all Sony interchangeable lens bodies with the E mount?
Always best to ask, to the best or my knowledge yes it will.
Which lense would u recommend for zoom
So, I didn't know this. But I also have a question that MIGHT sound dumb. I have a Sony A6000. Is everything you said for the ZV-E10 true for the A6000 as well?
It would be nice to put names on the screen of adapter and/or lenses.
I am looking at this camera for overhead shooting of art tutorials. Is this a good camera for something like this? And what lens would be best. I am looking at 1-2 feet over head for my projects. Thank you for any advice!
Yes, it’s a good camera. I would start with the camera and the kit lens, more important will be good even lighting. So look for some videos about how to like a video like you are shooting.
@@markwiemels wonderful Mark! This really helps a lot. I’ve been searching for a while with so many cameras out there. This one stood out to me. Thank you for your very quick reply! I really appreciate it!
Thanks so much for this video…I bought a Sigma 16mm 1.4 for Canon but I was thinking of going with the Sony Zv 10 instead of the M50. I was going to return the lens but I’ll just get the adapter. Thank you so much 🙏🏾
Unfortunately that is an ef-m lens, not an ef lens, so it can’t be adapted.
@@markwiemels oh man so the EF-M lens can only work on Canon Mirrorless? Then I’ll probably just take it back. Thanks again.
@@kdubsosolid yes, ef and ef-s can me adapted, ef-m can not.
Does the adapter work with only Canon lens? I have 4 Nikon lenses
Saludos, una pregunta, esta cámara trae flash?
Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS I + sony a7s3 = video autofocus works ?
Yup just like my Canon M3 : ) Does the ZV smoke the M3 or about same?
Photo image quality would be similar, Video quality is better in the Sony, as if the autofocus for photo and video, build is nicer on the M3.
Please help me decide
Which is better option
1. Zv e10L with kit lens (16-50 mm) + another wide angle lens
Or
2. A7c with just kit lens (28-60 mm)
A7c would be my choice.
@@markwiemels thank you
Hi. Is this adapter still the best in market or I can find better one ? Money is no problem
I don’t have enough to experience to say, but I do see others having lot of problems with other, more expensive adapters, that I don’t with this one.
You forgot one specific thing - it depends on the focus motor .
Usm and stm lenses work better , most non L or Stm lenses uses micromotor and they are slow , unreliable and painful to use.
True.
I had an adapter for Canon lenses but it couldn't read the aperture as I was adjusting it in camera. It also wouldn't respond to auto focus very well. How did you get them to talk to each other?
This is brand new adapter that has just be released. Seems to work better than any of the previous models by other companies.
Hey could I ask a favour if you could do a video please on nikon z mount lens to sony e mount zv-e10 please with s 50mm f1.2 please 🙏
What about the stabilization with different brand lens
Is this good for video recording on this Camera? I just ordered this camera! :)
yes
Mark , can i stabilize footage with catalyst browse if i use this adapter? Tq
That is a very very good question, I suspect so, but would need to test it.
I got one but it only worked with my 50mm. My other cannon lens with the same mount did not work for some reason and support refuses to get back to me.
Hi Mark,
Can this lens mount be used across all Sony cameras (A7RIV) ?
if it has the amount feature im sure it would, if not amazon has a good return policy
