I love these kinds of reviews, and makes me wish I was back in UK again.
I noticed the hybrid jacket. I think it will be windproof at the front and back but still let some heat escaper. I have something similar from Decathlon that is only quilted at the front and it is great for cycling on those dry days that still have a bit of a wind chill, and the heat and moisture can wick away throught the arms, shoulders and back, but still keeps the windchill (from cycling speed) out of my torso.

I’ve recently brought the OEX self-inflating pillow, used it on two separate wild camps now - I really rate it, and it properly self-inflates..
I use mine in combination with the the Luxury Pillow (red one) they also sell, as I’m a side sleeper and need the extra height.

My son has the kids version of the Peter storm synthetic insulated jacket, it's been great, and still looks good after a year of use and abuse. When I worked in the tent department at Go I modified a north ridge col, cutting the weight down to 1.6kg from 1.9kg......head office copied most of my modifications and the col lite was born....sadly I got no recognition for that, but it became the bobcat 1, which still needs improvement (inner needs attachment to outer on rear guy point, and more guy points to pull the rear panel out for more internal space.

I have the Regatta Anderson V hybrid jacket in red and black. It is more of a lightweight jacket but very comfortable in chilly weather, with a shirt and jumper on as well when it gets really cold.
I have just bought the OEX Hiero stove last week from Go Outdoors in Wakefield. I tested it when I got home in the kitchen and it took 1.38 minutes to boil 400ml of water. This is the amount of water you would need for a boil in the bag meal to cook and also for a hot drink too. I watched The English Woodsman on You Tube test one a few weeks ago and it boiled more or less the same amount in just over 2 minutes. The comparison Jet Boil stove took nearly 3 minutes and literally costs twice as much. The Hiero Stove costs around ÂŁ45 in Go Outdoors and ÂŁ50 in Millets. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap stove.
Another recommendation I want to give a shout to is Nikwax TX-Direct. I bought a gallon of it from Go-Outdoors about 5 years ago and used to waterproof all my outdoor gear. It's fantastic stuff. If say your gear has a water rating of 5000 HH. TX-Direct will double it, maybe even triple it. Water literally beads up and rolls off.
I even used the TX Direct on a cheap Lidl tent and in 3 years of wild camping, it has never leaked. I have re-done it once again though.

Just getting back into hiking so I was at a branch of Go Outdoors in the Midlands today too. I am new to the camping thing and still learning. Doesn't an inflatable mat insulate you from ground?

Regatta can't be beaten for the price of their clothes. Just don't expect any of it to be waterproof when they say they're waterproof except their 'boil in a bag' type stuff. But then you'll end up wet from sweat! Haha. But all other regatta clothing is pretty decent 👍

At one point around covid times, the Tamar 2 was ÂŁ30, and the Avon 3 DLX ÂŁ60. Now the Tamar 2 is about ÂŁ70 and the Avon 3 DLX ÂŁ120. If the Eurohike products ever become reasonable again I'd be interested. I purchased a few Tamar2 and Avon 3 dlx, a Rydal 500 in green (not that blue!) and a Sandero 4, all not worth the current prices at all.

I bought a Peter Storm hooded puffer jacket in a sale for £19. I have always shied away from Peter Storm, but for £19, how could I go wrong. I am overall impressed with the jacket, however my only complaint’s about It is that it has no internal breast pocket and most importantly, there are no zips on the external pockets. Which if you off hiking or, any other type of activity, you could easily lose something like your car keys! So you can only really use the pockets to put your hands in! It would s only a minor gripe I know.
