Does the add-on switch have a led like the primary switch? We have the primary switch set to glow when it's off. That behavior doesn't seem to replicate to the add-on switch.
Hi, Deon. Because the add-on switch doesn't connect to power, it does not have an LED indicator. If you have additional questions, our U.S.-based consumer care is also available at 1-800-654-8483, M-F, 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Central Time.
The instructions do not show a connection to a second or third add-on switch but say you can add up to 5 add-on switches. How do they wire? Does the traveler wire just get a parallel connection to additional add-one? It would be nice to know this before I just connect it that way and do a smoke test. UPDATE - I connected the second add-on switch to the neutral, ground and the traveler wire to the same traveler wire from the previous add-on switch. I used the red throughout for the traveler and the black for the switch leg (load). It worked just fine.
Hi, Gregory. We're glad you figured it out. There are several ways to wire four-way switches depending on how the home is wired. If you ever install another smart device in a multi-switch configuration, instructions for some common setups are available at byjasco.com/electrical-wiring-support. You can also contact our U.S.-based consumer care at 1-800-654-8483, M-F, 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Central Time.
Hi, Chuck. The exact process for adding a device is determined by your hub brand and is done from the smart switch in three-way configurations. An example of how to get your smart device into pairing mode is available at czcams.com/video/JwtVKID9tAw/video.html. If you need additional assistance, contact our U.S.-based consumer care at 1-800-654-8483 M-F, 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Central Time.
