I'm usually a silent veiwer, but I just wanted to say: I loved this! The vibes were warm and cozy and the drawings were so sweet! I hope if you feel more comfortable you can continue to serve us this lovely content :)
Aww
Girl don’t be self conscious. We all love you and your art. I love your coloring and enjoy watching you color and draw. This video is awesome. 😊
Howdy! Painter and photographer here. Thank you a million times for helping ease the stigma of drawing from reference photos that aren’t taken by you. The issue isn’t in using them for reference, it’s in making money off of them.
When building your skills at your art, there is no need to reinvent the wheel in the process. Take it one step at a time and work up to taking your own reference shots.
Lovely sketch seesh!
Dude, yes! Draw strangers that are at the mall food court/anywhere. I can’t wait to see more of your series!
🌹💙🌹
I love the series idea!! art vlogs from you would be amazing omg & if you did sketching in art museums/parks etc. too
voiceovers are scary - idk how people vlog in public it makes me so nervous! but probably once you're used to it it'll be easy
You’re so brave! I’ve never been able to go places by myself without wanting to crawl under a rock, lol. There’s something about your art that’s very rare and magical…it seems almost living; it’s absolutely fascinating. I haven’t been watching many art vids lately, but I’m feeling a little inspired now…thanks! 🎨
What a lovely video!! I'm always super impressed by people who are brave enough to draw in public, let alone film!! And Toronto seems such a nice city, it'll be nice to see new places and buildings.
This was so cozy! You inspire so many artists, and putting yourself out there will inspire others to go out and draw! Loved it!
'Cafe Hop' what a great idea.. I love it! and I love your style.
Love seeing the whole process and that you keep the reference up the whole time. Really helps to see it come together that way.
I’m not the type to comment, but since you bravely filmed in public I wanted to bravely (ha!) comment and say that I loved this. Thank you for the work that went into this vid and for being an awesome source of inspiration to so many 💜
aw thanks so much for watching and for saying hi Jennifer! :)
I just want to say that you really don't need to talk! I enjoy just watching without listening to anyones voiceover. It's calm and relaxing 🥰 keep up what you're doing!
Thank you for stepping out of your comfort zone and making this video! It was so cozy to watch and I loved seeing your drawing process.
This video calms me so much and also motivates me to draw also ❤ if you’re comfortable I’d love to see more of these!! You did an amazing job with recording, music, and subtitles 🙌🏾
Sketchbook Cafe sessions are always a lonely thing for me, even if someone approaches me while I'm doing it (they are not artists). I'm glad to see someone sharing their talent and experience because I always wonder what other people experiences (and sketchbooks) are like. Thnx for sharing!
Would love to see more like this! Maybe sketching people in the cafe? But the food court sketching sounds good too
Thank you for taking 2.5 hours to bring us a 15 minute coffee break! This was the perfect addition to my morning break. I am so glad you had one little spot of real time drawing footage. The sphynx was my favorite, you gave him such personality! Kudos for doing this despite being nervous; I get anxious just drawing in public and I’m not even filming!
aw i'm so happy to hear this video accompanied you in your morning! Thank you for your kind comment! :)
I love this style video. Cafes are so cozy. Great music too. Yes, I'd enjoy seeing you draw people in malls or anywhere for that matter. Your art is amazing. It's also nice seeing you in the video. You're adorable.😊 You look exactly like you do in your drawings. So pretty....
I love the cats what you are drawing its lovely to sit and watch you its peaceful what you bring thank you for the lovely videos you do keep up with them I love them its like I am there watching you draw.
I admire your courage for stepping out of your comfort zone! Such an inspiration!
Thanks, Chris! Great video. About drawing people...sounds like fun! But do what makes you happy and the rest of us will be interested to see what makes it fun.
I do enjoy these relaxing videos as life is too chaotic these days and all I care for content wise is just chill vlogs.
These kitties are so adorable! And I don't think I've ever seen YOU. You are beautiful as well! Thanks for sharing 💜
i'm so happy you're back!!! love your art & your videos
I absolutely love the idea of sketching/drawing/creating art in a public space. I completely see where you’re coming from with getting over the self-conscious aspect of recording yourself in public! I’m still at a weird point in my CZcams career that I don’t feel comfortable half the time filming in my own home, especially if my husband is home which is crazy because I love him more than anyone. I really appreciate you sharing this content with the world though because I think it is a small step to helping me get past that part in my own comfort zone. These sketches are super cute by the way!!! Now I wanna go sketch some kitties :)
I don't even like my husband looking at me when I draw... maybe it has to do with my anxiety.
@@sarahMuahahaha I feel that 🤣🥲
@@breannadawnart same goes while I'm cooking... I don't like when people hover over me...
@@sarahMuahahaha my thing is I try not to cook unless my husband is still at work 🤣 I'm probably doing it all wrong but if he can't see, he can't know 🤣🙌🙏
@@breannadawnart are we twins?? lmao 🤣
i love what you’re doing!!! ❤ you’re taking small steps to unlearn to be self conscious, teaching your brain that it’s ok being umcomfortable and.. doing what you want anyways!! HUGE 🥰 i love that for you!!!! ❤
also i really enjoy the “no-music” bits, just sounds of life hahaha as for suggestions for the next episodes… maybe play with real time footage? or the bigger jump cuts like you said 😊 i’m excited to see what you create next ❤
will def try and sprinkle some real time footage in the next episode, thanks so much for your comment! :)
A really nice video. The cafe was a lovely, warm place out of the rain. You did an amazing job, moving the camera to find a different angle, and finding better seating for nicer light.
The cat sketches were a great idea, and by cat #3, you captured the expression very quickly. Loved #4, too.
Thank you for that zoom in at 05:15 that's the only one I could focus 🤣
I LOVE this kind of content! So relaxing and inspiring. Please keep them coming ! 💖
It's strange how most artists including myself can gain inspiration in cafes ,I seem to relax more in that environment
I'm glad you're experimenting with subtitles. Narrated videos are fun, especially if I'm going to work on art while I watch but if I'm only going to watch I really enjoy having subtitles. I feel like it forces me to focus and be more deliberate about what I'm watching. Plus, it helps if this is how you actually enjoy creating. It's way more fun watching a video where the creator is enjoying what they're doing. At least imo
I enjoyed the format and that you're trying new things. Looking forward to whatever you do next 😊
This is going to be a really cool series! It’s cool seeing you work live, and i really enjoy the reading + music; it’s really relaxing!
Love, love, love the kitty drawings! I loved the way you set up this video. Please do more of these!
Since you asked, I gotta say I'm really digging the pace you've set so far in your cafe series - full content and all, no jumps. It's both relaxing and super interesting to watch/read. Plus, getting to see the whole drawing process really helps in what I'm learning from you : ). I could spend my whole day binge watching your cafe stuff! LOVE IT!!!
Amazing set up and love the vibe! Keep up with the series ❤ I see a lot of people who draw or do work in public. So don’t worry! If people stare it’s because they are curious of what you’re creating. ❤
I liked seeing the full drawing, I glad you didn't skip parts! Also I know it takes you longer but I liked the illustrations begging more fleshed out and detailed 💗 Well done doing something scary! I hope you enjoyed it afterwards and that you keep pushing yourself x I would enjoy seeing your drawings of people in real life. Thank you for sharing 😊
That was great. I thought the pace was perfect. I like watching your process, so I wouldn't want too many jump cuts. Keep this series coming!
I love the vibes. It's so relaxing to watch your drawing process
My anxiety would eat me up if I tried filming myself in public, huge props to you! I was already relly nervous just drawing people out in the wild :'D
Which brings me to your question: Yes, I would love to see some Cafe Hops about people drawing, I love to watch those.
This was a lot of fun! I used to live in Toronto, many years ago, and loved visiting the different coffee shops and restaurants too. Love your sketches.
Absolutely love the vibe on this one, I dont mind reading also, ur content is as always so relaxing to watch and so chill
I love the atmosphere of the rain and the coffee shop. I think it'd be cool if you did a real-time video, even if it was only 20 minutes like how you said you wanted to keep them shorter. I live in the country so I don't have a local coffee shop, so I think a real-time video with all the ambience of everything would be fun/immersive :D
And your cat sketches were so cute! I'm making a comic book starring cats, and it took me so long to learn to draw them where they didn't look flat-out scary xD
I will definitely do some real time ones in the future! :D thanks for your comment!
I find it interesting how you shade some parts, even if there is no shadow in the reference picture. Great Video and would love to see more of the series
Chris Hong sketching in the coffee shop is the cutest thing ever! Love you sharing not just your fab cat drawings but also your experience. And Yes, definitely love to see you sketch people. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Lovely! very cozy video! For sure would like more of those 😊
I love the third cat such expressive strong lines and you knew when to stop. Loved the cats even though I’m not a cat lover. ;)
Definitely do a IRL drawing at a mall again! I think that would be great! I Always enjoy watching you draw and create content in general. Keep it coming!
Loved it... your drawings, the ambience of the cafe, and even the street and rain sounds... look forward to the next one😊
I used to be a barista for two years, I believe you’ve gotten yourself a cortado because I’ve never seen a flat white that teeny 😂
I think you may be right! XD
I have always wanted to go to a cafe and draw, it’s on my bucket list… I enjoyed it, more please.
I loved this so much! it is so calming to watch and draw too! please don't be afraid to do more of these!
You go with your bad self! 💪🏼 can’t wait for future installments of this series!
So good to see you again, missed your videos. ❤️ I learn so much wathing you draw and paint.
chill...yes!!☕🎶
I really enjoyed the video, it was super chill and I love the way you sketch. Props for filming yourself outside! 😊
As an artist that I admire the skills of it's really interesting and I think educating for me to see how you sketch in real time, so I'd definitely love some shots of that along with the sped up version! And lovely cats of course... so squishable
hoping to do some longer, real time episodes too eventually :D! thank you for your comment!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS VIDEO WE LOVE YOU AND WE LOVE YOU'RE ART. This video made my whole week
I loved this so much. Seeing you draw and then also getting a look around outside and the food was just perfect!
glad to have you back!! also, you're so pretty its unreal
This is wonderful ❤ As someone who fell out of love with drawing for a while due to mental health issues this brings me back to all the times I’d go to coffee shops just to sit back and draw 😊 Really makes me want to pick up a sketchbook again for the first time in many months!
I love this format 😊 Can’t wait for your next cafe hop!
Yes! Live sketch please. Also I would like to see your camera setup. This is so cool.
I really enjoyed this video ❤️ love the cute cats, the ambience and everything, you are so brave 😍
Hello! I found this very cozy.. Your sketches are incredible. You’ve inspired me to draw often. You make it look very easy!! :)
I couldn't stop laughing at the third cat wonky eyes, lol. It turned out really pretty at the end, but you made me laugh so much.
You are amazing! Really nice how you block in your reference. Good job!
I think videos like this are really enjoyable. I am drawing along :)
Love this style of video and cool to put a face to the art!!!
I say honestly
💫Your videos are very beautiful and emotional💫
❤Much love to you❤
Really enjoy all of your videos! Personally am a huge fan of vlog style videos ~ something about them feels more engaging. So the mall sketching idea also sounds good to me. Can't believe you got another "cursed" cookie 😂😂
i loved this ;-; the fact that you even drew cats too, i barely found ur channel and i’ve been watching ur videos for the past hours tbh i love your channel already, and u draw so beautiful and so smoothly is so satisfying to watch🥲plus you are BEAUTIFUL 🤎
thank you for your kind comment ;__; ~~
you are so pretty I- and this is so soft and warm and cozy I love love this video
This was such a vibe 😊 love your sketches, super dynamic and slight stylisation that imbued them with so much character
I love watching you draw almost as much as I love drawing! Check out the Beach area. It's a beautiful area of T.O. that I grew up in. Plenty of beautiful coffee shops!
Great to have you back! Really liked this format, I get to see art and bit of the city.
PS: your renderings got better with each cat! Loved this idea!
I just found your channel with this video. I really enjoyed this cafe style. I also enjoyed how honest you are about your feeling toward things such as filming in public. Can’t wait to see more. I’m off to hit the subscribe button.
I missed your videos! So happy to see you’re still posting and drawing, I love your art so much ❤
loved the video and can't wait for more of this series! great work as always 😁😁
This video was perfect! Can’t wait for the next one 🙌🏻✨
This format is wonderful! Your work is heavenly as usual.
Please continue to go out and draw i love it so much especially when you draw cute cats ❤️❤️
I loved the video! It was sooooo cool to watch! Definitely a cozy vibe (: I would love to see you draw some people, you always have a great way of capturing form!
I think one cool thing would be seeing you draw in real time sprinkled in between the speed draw, I love the way you choose your lines so I would be super interested to see the process in real time.
Great job I can’t wait for another video! :3
i'll def keep that in mind as i'm editing the next episode!! which is now ;) thank you for your comment!
Your drawings are so lovely 😻 watched this vid in the background to have motivation to draw myself :)
Omg your so pretty. And your art is everything
I LOVE this type of video. Really makes me want to go out to a cafe and draw myself ❤️
this was so nice I'm watching it while drawing in a caffe as well!!
Oh my goodness! This was so relaxing and inspiring to watch. I loved it! Thank you!
Loved this video!. The vibe was real chill and the cats were adorable.
It’s kind of difficult to give an objective opinion bcs you’re one of my fav artists and everything u draw, paint, post on ig or on ig just instanltly becomes my new favorite thing 😅but i genuinely enjoyed watching this cafe drawing session, so cozy 🍂🐻
aw that is so sweet ;_; thank you so much for your comment, i'm glad you enjoyed it!!
I wanted to watch this video since you posted it. I really enjoyed it!
Ahh what a treat! Love this series already. I would love to see you people draw, your stylization of figure drawings is splendid. Looking forward to the next episode 🧡
This made me miss Toronto... can't wait to see what cafe you go to next!
Wowow...you're an amazing artist, such an inspiration.
Beautiful video! I loved the cozy vibes 🍂✨
i don't mind if the videos are longer! (in fact i like it) yay for being back! also maybe you could even one day try drawing the life around you in those public settings?! *gasp*
Somehow you manage to make the cats look even cuter than they already are. Amazing! I’m here for a series…and anything else.😊
I’m loving these series already! Maybe you’re even inspiring me to cafe hop and draw again. Keep up the good work!💪🏻
this vlog was really relaxing! i understand what you feel, and also feel more encouraged to go out to draw, I've been wanting to do that for a long time now :) the cats look so cute btw!
Good one! Such fun to hang out and watch your creations progress. And it’s super interesting to notice how this video differs to ones I had seen from you in the past (say a year or more ago).
PS: I strongly approve of your choice of music, which definitely made for a pleasant experience.
As far as text versus voice, it’s a toss up, because they each have their benefits. Your vocal style is pleasant and endearing when you employ it, but on the other hand, by just providing text in this one, you have made somehow a more quiet introspective experience (if that makes any sense, lol).
Enjoyed a lot thank you 🌼 and thank you for materials info too❣️
