Omg you filmed thereee!! ahaha god idk how many times i've stared at the baked goods from the outside (also with you sometimes LOL). Love the editing ~ makes me really want to get outta the house lol
Cafe hop diaries graphic novel writing edition
LOL yes I recall us walking by and remarking on it several times hahaha thank yooooo 😘
Omg both you Chris and cosmic spectrum live in Toronto? That’s so close to me that’s so awesome to know 😮
I have never been to Toronto. But I see CN Tower & CTV Office here.
I'm starting to miss drawing from life in cafes/restaurants as college assignment practice after watching these. Lovely and relaxing
Still in love with this series. I enjoyed the ambient sounds of the cafe. Thanks for sharing your art. Hope everyone has a fantastic day!
As someone who also has a fondness of betty boop, the drawing is adorable! Me and my aunt, who I was really close with at the time, always put on betty boop when I came and spent the night. We always had a set schedule; watch betty boop, eat dinner, watch some more betty boop, go to sleep, wake up, go to Starbucks (she always got a caramel macchiato and would get me hot chocolate w/ a cake pop 🥲), then if it was a Sunday go to church (I’m not a believer in any religion, but it was nice when I was 6-9 yrs at the time and just wanted to be close to her :)) or if it was Saturday we would go to the park near her house or go run errands and window shop. I spent the night at her house often. Sometimes, if I was lucky I would stay for 2 nights if I went on Friday and got home Sunday since school is a thing lol. She has decided to cut all contact with me since I was in 4th grade-up. I miss it sometimes. Thanks for giving me that little bit of nostalgia and happiness from my childhood chris
half an hour of a chris hong video omg yes
Loving this series so far! It seemed like you were more comfortable drawing in public this time. I like the style of the editing much better for this video - the real-time shots vs the big jump cuts in the last video. Definitely was more relaxing for me! Can’t wait to see more! My husband got me into f1 in the past 2 years or so. We went to Austin for a race last year! Who’s your favorite team/driver?
You can airdrop your reference to your old phone when there’s no wifi
And your new phone probably has some sort of video stabilizer so its not so shaky!
Your drawing process is so satisfying to watch ☺️
I love drawing with a pen much more than drawing with a pencil nowadays, love your work
I was drawing watching one of your video when I got the notification... just what I needed!
Ayyyy I love F1, can't wait for the opening race this Sunday!
I love these Cafe videos too. They really inspire me to get out and do the same. I wish I could but due to chronic illness I'm coupled up in the cocoon of my house, either in my art studio or in/or on my bed. I miss this and never really got to do art in cafes before, although I used to keep a journal
many many years ago when I lived on the streets in thee punk scene in Denver. We spent a ton of time at a very edgy bookstore/coffee shop that stayed open until 4am which was how we stayed safe because the streets qere really violent in 1991-1995. We were very misunderstood by the, hmmm without getting monetized, I'll call them "groups" of people who thought a shaved head or strange clothes and combat boots made you a skin...(race..)..head which we somehow got to change their understanding and we could see eye to eye, but had some very close calls.
Anyway I'm rambling. This is what I miss. Sitting in the Cafe or by the bookshelves and journalinng. I wrote everything in them and now....30 years later I still have them and can go back and read about my life during the best years ever with the closest friend ever, people I am still just as close to today.
So I think it would be a really cool idea to jot down your thoughts and maybe your experiences even if they seem mundane. The conversation behind you about F1 and what you enjoyed while you sipped your coffee and drew the portraits. They are incredible by the way. Being able to feel like you're there again 30 years later just by cracking open your sketchbooks again and reading what your time was like when you were sketching or what you had going on that day. Maybe write a bit about it on the page behind or the back of the page next to each one.
Maybe I'm just wishful thinking and rambling because this reminded me of going to Muddy's in 1990 or 1993.
Basically I really loved this video and leaving the sounds of people taking and not using music is the absolute perfect choice. Thanks for bringing me back to a place I can't go back to. It really was a lovely video and your drawings are beautiful.
Love watching you draw! The food looked so yummy, & it looked like it was a beautiful day in Toronto. ❤ You’re also influencing me to get a toned tan sketchbook hehe
Yes, more real time and cafe sounds please👏😍 thank you for allowing us into your process and filming/creating out in the wild. So brave!
some background music with the cafe noise is nice
I do something similar, but for architecture.
I love carrying a sketchbook and camera with me…
It was neat seeing this!
I absolutely love watching you sketch and your city locations. I lived in Breda, Holland for many years but now live in Northern California. Traded in the cafe’s for forest lakes and mountains. Love both! Go Max Verstappen! 😊
I love this series so much, these videos are super relaxing to watch 🤍
music is also nice paired with background conversations imo
saw a short of yours weeks ago and was ready to not like it. wow was i wrong, truly exquisite work lady.
I loved this video!! You make me miss my family in Canada soooo much. I can't wait to go back! I live in the U.S. so it's far, but not too far. Beautiful art as always!!!!! 🎨🖌️🖍️☕🍩🍰🎂🍪
Love the sketching in pen…very brave and confident…rightly so, your portraits are wonderful. The pen was a nice contrast to the paper. My favourite was also the second portrait you did. You captured her perfectly.
Wow it is so enthralling to watch you carve out your beautiful portraits, jeez. I could watch you do this all day. Also, you are so pretty! omg 😳 Just as striking as your work 🥰
so cool, always wanted to just go to a cafe and record a cid of sketching, so chill and freeing
Omg i want to be at this level of art! Im struggling right now with really hateing my art which makes me not want to draw anymore, but im trying to push myself to keep practicing because i know it just mean i can see where i need to improve. Very inspiring 😢
you are literally SOOOOOO beautiful!!!! i gasped irl when i saw your face ❤❤❤
I just absolutely love seeing your approach to drawing! I am loving the cafe series! Hope it continues ❤
I’m really glad you showed the references you used. For some reason in the art world, showing that you used a reference is looked down upon or even called “cheating”, even though almost everyone uses one.
Brilliant video and art.
When I see this type of content I feel soooo inspired to create something in my sketchbook. It's kinda refreshing. And you help me to understand things that I am still not 100% into (like the way you shade and crosshatch) even if I watch a lot of tutorials and art videos.
Since you asked for opinions, I like cafe "noises" + a low volume chill music. Both there at the same time. It would be nice. But other than that I really like this series and your style. Hope to see more soon! ^_^
Thank you for posting and creating.
u should film in a Starbucks coffe shop,a really nice vibe!
she just be chillin
This is so cozy. I’m so glad that you made it onto my recommended - your art is incredible, and I can really learn something from watching you draw, so thank you for this series! 💕💕
Would you ever do drawing from life studies? Actually drawing the people that grab your attention in public/cafes would be so interesting!
I am trying to finnaly learn properly how to draw, bc of this i am studying how to draw figures and doing this while watching this type of video is a happy experience.
I bought the bayou mermaid print from you many years ago for my daughter. I finally had it framed for her 8th birthday. She loves it. ❤️
that makes me SO happy to hear! thank you for letting me know 🥰
I really like the background cafe noises, it's soothing hearing the murmur of people chatting and cutlery clinking. Strange a French -themed cafe would have so many (what looked like) scones in their window...
Please keep doing more of these! I love them, it gives me more confidence to go to cafes again and draw! ❤😊
I love the third sketch, of a male, best, regardless of likeness not being fully there, but I love how it turned out, the mood, the poise, everything...
I love watching these while I'm drawing too!
I love this series! Thanks for sharing
I love this series 🤍✨
had the urge to go draw in a cafe today, but this is even better!! lovely episode, love this series so much already :3
I love this series. I hope you keep it going for a while but only for as long as you still enjoy or benefit from it.
I loved the Betty book inspired one that was definitely my favorite
Wow your last cafe hopping video was great too but I love how you made the adjustments to improve the layout and show the city and atmosphere, even if its out of your comfort zone!! such a great video, rhe cafe looks so cute and yummy and the artwork turned out beautiful
I used to hold pencils in a similar way and I’ve slooooowly trained myself to change it because it was giving me nerve damage. Earlier this year it got bad enough that I took myself to physical therapy. They taught me “nerve glide” stretches (look it up theyre great!!) and wrist/hand/arm strengthening excersises that pretty much fixed it! Now i do some stuff with a dumbbell or resistance band and the nerve glides at least a couple times a week to protect my wrist and hand. The main issue was bending my wrist at that one angle for too long, changing the grip and angle my drawing surface is at has helped as well.
how amazing 😢 i wish that draw portrait like you❤❤😢
I was thinking it would be fun if on one of your cafe trips you would draw your food…I do that sometimes because food is not something I would normally draw, but I really enjoy it and when it’s done and as a bonus I get to eat the food and afterword I’m no longer a starving artist.
I love the coffee series! Can you show your coffee shop table filming drawing setup? Many thanks. Your art is amazing!
Such a great way to study your style and techniques better. I really enjoyed this video, both the aesthetics and experience and the knowledge behind your process, as well as, getting to really learn from your approach.
i'm happy to hear you can glean some helpful information from these videos! :) thank you for watching and for commenting!
love the way you shade with pen!
The drawing is awesome.👍👍👍

I loved the pace of the editing, I actually draw along with you and your references, but I did very small drawings thought, loved drawing with you, tanks for the video!

Awesome drawings, Thanks for sharing it's inspiring & educational too!
I agree with the other comments that the background noise is more interesting and enjoyable! 👍🏽
Beautiful work!
I love the title. Very cute video vlog.
Your are an amazing artist!
That notebook is amazing I love it
and also loooooove the drawings
beautiful & professional draw . thank you
Your videos always inspire me to draw during the day and I love your style of videos!! ❤❤
I really love your sketching style, and these cafe videos are so fun!! ❤
I really liked this style of editing so you could see how the drawing progressed. I’m just now starting to draw and it was nice to see how you captured these people. You’re very talented and don’t worry too much about the table shaking it was a great video.
I watch a lot of David Finch’s channel and he likes a F1, also. In fact a lot of artists on that channel like it. I wonder what it is with artists and F1?
J. Scott Campbell holds his pens/pencils similar to the way you do with the death grip. He holds closer to the tip, though.
Also, I agree with keeping the ambient noise in. Thanks for the video!
What a calm and relaxing video. Really loved watching it. Greetings from Germany
I just joined. It's a wonderful series...relaxing to watch, ambient sounds, different languages, laughter...nice choice in music...and it's nice to see your work in different media and styles.
It was very enjoyable to watch your video ❤️👍🌹
This was so fun to watch! I'm nervous to draw in the coffee shop incase people ask to see lol

Ahhh this makes me want to draw!! Sadly can't since I have class in 30 minutes I have to walk to from home!
Can't wait to get home and get some writing done..the inspiration is real!! ❤💖💗😊
i think i heard some portuguese in the video !! I'm trying to use as a background video but i can't help to look and watch it all, this is such a good type of video!!!
Love this video
i would love to go to cafes again to draw, my go to place closed during the panini and i haven't been brave enough to find a new spot. thank you for the inspiration!
😱Woww se ven tan geniales, espero algún día poder ser tan buena como tu dibujando 💜✨
Mate i loved this so much💕💕💓
Excellent sketch 😍😍😍😍....I love your sketch so much ❤️😍❤️.....
I love your art bruh
That sandwich looked so delicious. Also good to know I’m not the only one who flips buns upside down to get the best eating angle haha.
Your observation skills and delicate technique are amazing. I've also been getting back into drawing just with a biro on paper but I have to get better at not rushing and making everything "just" a sketch, so I'm taking notes lol.
This video has an incredibly strong Ghibli movie vibe to it 🤩
Quite enjoyed the second episode, you seemed more relaxed and I liked the portraits you drew. I liked the background noise at the cafe but also liked the parts when you used some music, it was a great episode, looking forward to your grand plans. Also Hello Chris' Mom, your daughter is great love her art
omg girl, what a coincidence!! thanks to CZcams recommendations i found this and omg i just loved it????? loved this style of video, and your drawings are amazing, you're so pretty!! I also love love F1, and finding others girls that like warms my heart so much!
