Hey Ashika, this was a very informative video. So thank you for that. Now, I had a Question regarding the security deposit situation of a Flat. Some videos say it’s the first 3-5 weeks and the others say it’s high as 6 months if you cannot prove your capacity to earn. So this “capacity to earn”, can it be done through an offer letter of a full time job or does it have to be the first payslip? If you need the payslip and obviously this is not possible if someone’s just arriving in the UK, so does that mean we have to shell out an amount similar to what you have mentioned? depending on the rent of course.

Hi Aakash. The security deposit of flats is mentioned in the listing. As far as I'm aware, the mandate is a security deposit of Five weeks' rent if your rent is lower than £50,000 per year and Six weeks' rent if it is higher. If you are looking at RightMove for instance, click on the listing and just below the price of the property, there is something called tenancy info. Click on that to find out all the details. I'd advise you against properties which ask you for a 6 month deposit as it doesn't sound right. We have not shared pay slips with anyone, rather the work contracts. See the link below for more info.

    Hii Aashika!!
Hope, now you are perfectly settled there
I am a new subscriber to your channel
My daughter is moving there within a week
Ofcourse she must have done her part of research on living expenses there in UK
But I am asking you this for my peace of mind , if 3650 GBP per month after deducting all taxes , is enough money to live a cushioned life in London for a single person? The question is more important to me as she has been leading a very cushioned and luxurious life in Dubai, having a nice job .in a big 4 Consultancy
Her decision of moving there is just because of getting global experience and that too in a mature market
She will have to live in central London side Ofcourse as that's near to her workplace

Hi Deepika. Close to being completely settled but thank you! Thank you for following. Congratulations going out to your daughter. London is a great place to be in. Central London can get pretty expensive with rents for a 1bhk averaging £1500. Since that eats up into a chunk of her income, choosing an apartment wisely will determine whether she’ll still have enough to spend on occasional splurges and luxuries. If she sets a cap on her income at £1100-1200 that should leave enough for utilities and other expenses to ensure she’s comfortable. Hope that helps.
