Put electrical tape on the back side of the metal, and use that to measure.
On bright, reflective surfaces, the IR gun is actually measuring what it is reflecting., not the surface.

Rv owners use the same or similar product, it works wonders. I am surprised all reefers owners have not done this. Also prevents leaks. Great job!

👍good stuff. There was some testing done on a metal building and there was almost 50 degree difference between the 2 surfaces. Might need to try a different infrared gun, they should work.
I can honestly say this works I was a believer but didn’t think it would help much …I tested multiple runs with out it going to Texas and Arizona this summer where it’s been 125 degrees and my Reefer worked hard burned a tank of fuel…I applied two bucks of this stuff and tested it again and the reefer bunted less fuel and cooled faster.Thanks DIY

1 is minimum recommended coverage. They want it 10 mils thick. I bet 2 works even better. Maybe I ought to try 2 buckets if it is better
@@DIYSEMI two bucks helps out even more…I only did two because of where I live (CA) and knowing leaving California in the summer time our desert gets in the 110-125 degree range.But 1 bucket will do the trick
@@vroor32 2 buckets helped out big time and made the inside stay cool.FYI I also used it with and without my bulkhead and the roof is the key factor
@@Hollywoodlb10I just hit mine with 1 bucket today. The roof was hot 🔥 AF as I applied the first coat .... and noticeably cooler to walk on as I applied 2nd coat 👍🏿

A gets a dingy look to it. I put a little on the side of the trailer so could watch what happens. It looks dirty.... But works great

@@DIYSEMI I was wondering why you would only use one? Per the direction of the manufacturer each 5 gallon bucket covers 100 sq ft. So a Reefer trailer is 53’ x 8’ = 424 sq ft, so one would use 4 buckets for a trailer per the manufacturer. Then again that’s $1406.00 for 4 of their products. I was wondering when one would see the ROI on that.
I’m definitely going to do it within a few weeks. I’m just trying to decide on how many buckets I should apply.

That's 100 sq feet per gallon, actually 95. So a 5 gallon bucket covers 475 sq feet
