Some helpful tips for ferret owners:
    1) use plastic carpet protector to protect the carpet from being torn up by the ferrets by doorways and to keep the floor around the ferret cage clean.
    2) Keep a garbage can (ferret proof, of course) in the same room as the ferrets' cage to make changing the litter easier.
    3) Use wood stove pellets for litter.
    4) Put cat pans outside the ferret cage so they'll use them when they're out of the cage
    5) Use newspaper in the cage to make cleaning up out-of-litter-box messes easier to clean up
    6) Use self-stick tiles on the cage floors. This doesn't just make cleaning the cage easier it's MUCH easier on their ferret feet.
    7) Take the cage completely apart and take outdoors and give it a good scrub down at least once a year.
    8) Use a 50/50 mix of vinegar water for daily cleaning/litter box wipedowns.
    9) Wash all ferret hammocks, sleep sacks once a week and have extras on hand so you can easily rotate clean, needs to be cleaned bedding.
    10) Check the cage daily - remove pooped on newspaper, clean up scattered litter and food, scoop poop if needed.
    11) Never use small animal bedding in the cage. Just have tile or cut pieces of fleece over the floors.
NOTE: comments have been disabled on this video as far too many idiot teenagers with very little knowledge about ferrets were leaving horrible "tips" on here. If you don't want to trust in the knowledge of someone with NINETEEN YEARS experience with ferrets, hey, go right ahead and be a fool. But I'm not going to let morons hand out bad and often dangerous advice on my channel.
