Model Trains in the RAIN - LIVE Coal Loads in HO

  • Welcome back to the layout! Tonight we are going to take a further look at coal operations on the NS Asheville District Layout. In the previous 3 videos in this series, we look at how we load the live coal loads with a working flood loader, how we take the heavy trains up a steep grade with helper locomotives, and how we unload the live loads with a fully automated rotary dumper. In this final part to the series, we look at how empty coal trains are returned to the mine. The coal we use for our loads is Woodland Scenics Coarse Coal.
Also in this video on operations, we look at a unique addition to operations - RAIN! Rain effects were added in post-production editing.
    Thanks for watching!

I've never seen such a fantastic HO layout or any other guage for that matter. The "Rain" blew me away. Yet, all of it did. "Motoring" the multiple locomotives to operate together is another great talent. I hope there'll be more videos. Many, many are very good. These jump to a much higher level!!!

I just 'found' your channel today and I am so glad that I have. I'm in Uk and I haven't had much interest in the massive hardware that is normal in American trains, keeping to smaller layouts and themes. So it was like a fresh air to see what you have achieved with your outfit. For me the crowning had to be the thunderstorm, I honestly believed it was a real live set. The patience and attention to detail you show is a credit to you sir. Subbed.
