Thank you for the great action. I think this song and video are the best of Babymetal's videos. First of all, they were only 15-17 years old at the time, but their singing and dancing were amazing. All the members of the "Kami Band" at the time were world-class. The construction and use of the stage was amazing. Above all, this song was the encore song at Babymetal's solo live stage after an intense dance performance of all the songs. What amazing stamina!

    Nice reaction, thanks!
This footage is from the concert "New Year Fox Festival", held on January 10th, 2015 at Saitama Super Arena (SSA) with a sold out crowd of 20.000+ people.
It was the final encore of the show. Just imagine 90+ minutes of concert entirely performed with this level of energy. It's just epic.
For this video, they decided to keep the actual live audio (which is great!), just cutting short the majority of the "We are?? BABYMETAL" extensive outro.
About the song itself, Herman Li and Sam Totman from Dragonforce collaborated with BABYMETAL, doing the guitar arrangements and also playing on the studio recording.
SU-METAL still remembers this performance and specially the part they walked across the bridge with the crowd singing along as one of her favorite moments on stage. She also made this song her personal anthem. And you can tell she was on fire, specially during the second half of the song, by her expressions. Not to mention the moment she verbalized it by shouting: "Kakatte koi yaa!" ("Bring it on!").
Yes, BABYMETAL moshpits, actually called mosh'sh (mosshusshu) pits are a more civilized type of moshpit. Although I know two people who ended up in the hospital after a BABYMETAL show... 😅

    Thanks for reaction.
Yes, it's exhausting for the band, but also for them dancing. You can really see how Su-metal drops her hand at the end 8:54 that's in part because of exhaustion.
Babymetal works because of their hard work and talent, of everyone involved. It's a silly idea on paper, but they make it work.
What you saw a circle pit, not a moshpit. You can see both at Babymetal shows.

@@kurtsnyder4752 this is an interesting rumor which seems to have gone round and round but we have no proof or any reason to believe this. I believe this was just a matter of lost in translation between fans. Someone with limited ability in English talking to someone online in text with limited ability in English. For example the first fan joking: they most be training on a treadmill (I think their is a story like that in k-pop somewhere ?) and the other fan thinking this was fact. And thus it spread...

They played this song live with DragonForce at an awards show in London a bit later that same year (2015).
Gimmick? No, just something genuinely original and unique .... and successful because of their passion, hard work, quality and talent.

"Stand up and shout, Shout!, Justice Forever!" - (Road of Resistance) -
Pretty much a master class in audience control.
BABYMETAL believe that if a song sounds too much like one genre, then it's not a BABYMETAL song.
You can definitely feel the speed metal in this one though.
This performance was at Saitama Super Arena (SSA) in January of 2015, with a sold out crowd of over 20,000.
BABYMETAL's lead singer, Suzuka Nakamoto first appeared at SSA in 2008 as the youngest member of the J-Pop trio Karen Girl's, when she was 10 years old.
She's been back many times since, headlining with BABYMETAL.
Guitarists for this concert were Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda Cygnus. The bassist was BOH, and the drummer was Hideki Aoyama.

Road of Resistance was written by Babymetal's writing team in the style of Dragonforce. They got Herman Li and Sam Totman of Dragonforce to play on the studio recording and I believe they wrote the guitar solos themselves.
Walls of Death and circle pits are a regular feature of Babymetal live shows. Whenever they perform anywhere in the world you will see the crowd doing this.
This performance was filmed at Legend 2015 - The New Year Fox Festival in January 2015, so it's not quite ten years old. However today is the 10th anniversary of their breakthrough 2014 performance at Sonisphere UK.

first time I saw this video, I think one of the commentors joked he had to stop the video half way to give the drummer a break. I wish I could do something that was a "gimmick" for 14 years. from what I have read elsewhere the circle pits, if someone should fall, they will actually stp, make sure the person is OK then continue. I think someone in another eaction said there was some 20 different circle pits happening at one time.

Last song. Hand sign is Kitsune (fox) not rock on or ok. There is a longer version where they go to each of the side stages. East Kami band, now West Kami band with masks. Babymetal Mosh'sh is a safe pit, no slamming, everyone can join in. A reporter said there were 16 circle pits or something, over 21,000 in attendance.

I mean I liked kpop and metal so it wasn't too difficult for me to accept it. That's actually what I appreciated about it the most. It basically took all the music genres I liked and put them together. Also it took all the qualities I liked of each genre. Metal music. Kpop dancing and singing. Yes I know it's technically jpop but you get the point.

They are manufactured in a sense. They started off as a part of a larger idol / acting group. They had sub units there and Babymetal was the only one to gain traction. If we're going to pretend that if Idol groups aren't manufactured, we are lying to ourselves. With that manufacturing, you can see the work and energy put into it. They couldn't just get any musicians to play their songs initially. They couldn't just get any song writer. They couldn't just get any choreographer. They had to get the very best they could find. The girls themselves dedicated themselves to it. The fact that the vast majority of their songs are just surprisingly good, that the choreography is really good, the shows themselves tend to be really good.
You put all of that together and it's no mystery why they're good and why they're still around. They are not for everyone, but even their biggest critics tend to understand why they're loved. Even behind the scenes you don't hear anything bad about them. Again their critics have nothing but nice things to say about them when it comes to this.
Great people making great music and performances to inspire greatness from the masses.
