You are an.. idiot.....
4:22 It’s been 7 years and to this day, I still hear Niko’s voice saying “always maximize the compatibility” in my head every time I save in Photoshop.
I have the same thing while tracking in Mocha. Hearing the good old "copy to clipboard, done!", it's a bit fascinating.
"SIKE, it's VFX" I love you guys
If you guys need us to clarify anything with an annotation, just let us know! -N
I just put a link in the description for you! -N

Sweet! Would love to check it out.
Always great to see another straight forward, practical and entertaining effects tutorial from the Corridor crew. KEEP IT UP!!!
I love Niko's on screen personality. Very few ppl can pull off bad acting and make you like them more for it.
Niko's such a method actor, that first line delivery was fantastic! So enthusiastic.
Niko. Niko. Seriously. Thank you, dude. You guys are awesome. Never stop doing what you're doing. I need to buy a shirt.
Excellent tutorial, I've watched quite a few on matte painting but this was by far the best. Short, simple, effective. Nicely done.
Yay! Shoot Your Friends is back!!! I love these videos.
This tutorial is AWESOME! So many different applications than just Matte Painting. Thanks Corridor Digital for helping me up my After Effects game!
Thank you for this!
I really appreciate all of the videos you guys put up. It a lot of work to do all this and the videos your channel put up are in my opinion some of the bed on CZcams! Thanks for making so many great bids ^__^
Not seen after effects for a long time. Super impressed by the automatic tracking. Phenomenal. Great tutorial
OMG!! I've been waiting for you guys to do something like this, I couldn't find a good one on CZcams. Thank you guys, sooooo much!
One of the best tutorials to this day
Love all your stuff!!!
I learn a lot more with you Niko than I do taking courses. You're an awesome teacher. Oh and you also have they cutest laugh EVER x3
That was one nifty trick using the 3D solid's mask. I always ended up masking manually or using CC tools. Thank you for sharing Niko!
Keep the tutorials coming. They are awesome.
This is why I love you guys!
Awesome tutorial, thanks
Shoot your friends is back!!! We all waited for this! Make more of these please!
love how simple you made it. Thanks guys!
Love the way you laugh, so CUTE!!!!
I knew most of this stuff already, however, that trick you demonstrated with using a solid layer as a mask was fantastic. It's so simple, yet so brilliant.
I am a massive fan or CC in general, really enjoy the reaction vids, BUT I have to say this is the most concise and informative, not to mention inspiring video Ive seen on the subject. Im pretty experienced with PS and AF but this has made me excited to go and try something new like Im back in college. Thanks, going to start with a distant mountain, and work up to Forest moon Endor ewok village.
Hooray! Shoot your friends is back, awesome!
this is GREAT! I have it so hard to find matte painting-tutorials! WOOOOP
Your shirt is the best thing i've ever seen Niko
oh man, that shift+pickwhip tip is insanely helpful. Used AE for 2 years or so, still discovering new stuff :D
Thank you SO much. You guys are a big help to aspiring filmmakers. Keep up the awesome work!
Lol, D eating in the background at the end while staring at Niko is hilarious xD
thank you guys for these easy tutorials!
Been a while since you've done these videos. AWESOME, bring these back please.
I just did one as a test. Having the trees as a horizon makes the effect way more difficult. Also as I tried to move some fine branches into the shot with the colo(u)r difference key, i found out that things that are over exposed get included into the key. For others with camera's with a low dynamic range, try to find a shot without overexposed parts, it'll make your life better.
My chosen career is more in 3d animation than video effects, but I always love watching these tutorials. It just seems like something that'll be handy one day.
This is amazing! Thanks for sharing
great tutorial. Please do more of these. This is the best way for me personally to learn fx techniques
Awesome Niko can't wait to use this

Great tutorial. Please make more of these
This is an insanely cool tutorial. As soon as my camera comes in the mail, I'm going to try this out!
Might as well try it on some stockfootage until then.
How'd it go?!
Imma sound stupid for a minute, i actually thought you were in those places in your videos, shows how convincing matte painting is
I would love you guys to perhaps do it the old way too. Glass frame and everything, So people get a deeper understanding how the filmmaker's tools have evolved. And how old the matte painting technique really is. Perhaps even find some of scenes and work out exactly where the matte line is. Perhaps even do a demonstration of a travelling matte. I love what you are doing! Keep doing it!
YES, must do this!!!
Awesome thanks Niko!
Awesome, wanted to know how to do this properly for a while now!
thank you i wanted to learn this for so long :)
AMAZING!
Thanks guys! Awesome tutorial, I picked up alot in only 7 minutes! B-)

Where can I get After Effects camera solver
typ in effects search box: 3d camera tracker
It's back!!!
it looks simpler now that i know it. thanks for teaching me the trick.
great video just what i wanted !!
Its both. It is a set extension but it also combines more than one image into one which makes it a matte painting.
excellent tutorial, thanks so much!
to set an in and out point in after effects you hit the "I" and "O" hot keys in the preview window (when you double-click on a clip. then you can click and drag that particular clip you want into the timeline.
great tutorial, thanks guys!
