That's a seriously impressive local bike shop! Look past that simple sign outside and you have found a hidden gem inside.
I was blown away walking in the first time
Mr. Lek is a very nice guy. His shop pretty much have everything you need for customize a bike. Sometime you can find a discontinued parts especially shimano parts in his shop.
He's awesome! :)
💚 I visited over 20 bike shops in Bangkok, I've never seen one with so much stuff!
Wasn't impressed with the shops I saw in Bangkok
Having come from the brick and mortar bike retail, last thing initially I wanted to visit were bike shops. But I found out there are a LOT of cool things in foreign locales not available at home, so I always advise when touring not to overly pack as you can easily purchase stuff that could be unique, useful and be a cool souvenir from your tours.
That's very true. We picked up some nice bike bags while touring in Taiwan.
Really like the old school, rustic feel.
Glad to see you guys have settled in your new home. Hope you had a merry Christmas. I’m looking forward more videos in 2022. Stay safe and God bless.
Thank you! Merry Christmas! :)
was waiting for today's video so glad a new bike shop tour is out. hope you two had a good Xmas/holiday's
Thank you! 😃 We had a nice day riding bikes.
Yey! More bike shop tours!!!
😃
Thuong-Chan's English is really improving! Good job 👍
Thank you! 😃
A fully stocked bike shop close to home is huge, the shop is impressive indeed with high end components, regarding brooks the saddle, I purchased the B17 saddle a few years ago and I must admit it’s the best decision I made, put the rest of my saddles, a few of them to rest for good, I was so impressed that I purchased a second B17, now having said this, they’re a tad hard at first, you have to break them in for a few weeks but once broken in, ohh my, you’re gonna love it, plus they look phenomenal on the bike, I’ve ridden on these all day and no issues, no bottoms soreness.
We're pretty happy to be nearby :) Glad to hear the saddle is working out great for you!
@@TwoWheelCruise When I was driving a follow wagon for a long distance bike ride. I noticed that most of the newer carbon framed bikes with older owners. Had really old worked in Brooks saddles. I have a set on my folder and tandem bikes. The company Anatomica is or was mostly a Brooks saddle with a big hole cut in the pernium area. Once a Brooks is broken in, never need to change it. Even Sheldon Brown until he started using recumbent trikes had Brooks on all his bikes.
Amazing Bikeshop, I been there! Not easy to find!
That Jour folding bike you just saw was made using Dahon Patent. Glad you had a bike tour again, these kind of videos is like bringing a kid to Disneyland. 😁
its nice to support your local small shops because they will look after you more than the bigger company's because they need your custom
This place is amazing with every part you could ever want.
This bike shop is amazing! Lots of inventory. I can't wait to visit. So great to see a female working at a bike shop. - Roxy from California and Richmond Spokes. Let me know if we can connect.
After watching this video yesterday morning I visited Lek Bike. I'd never known about it before. There's just 1 parking spot in front and it's only legal to park there on odd days, fortunately it was Dec 29th. In front of the shop the owner's elderly mom sells beer, whiskey and ice. All the back space was crammed with all kinds of quality gear and accessories just like in the video. There didn't appear to be a workshop area, but I forgot to ask the owner about that so not certain. It's nice to know it's there and I bought 1 item I hadn't been able to find anywhere else.
Wow very surprising coz this shop looks like another shop in Japan you have reviewed. Very well stocked shop, love it!
Yes, they have some nice shops here too :)
Nice bike shop tour. 💕
Thank you! 🤗
What a traditional bicycle shop😄
Yes, very traditional in some senses haha
For a very small bike shop, it has everything you might need. Yummy food. Thanks for sharing you two...🎥😃👍👌👊🚴♂️🚴♀️💚❤💚❤🎄
Lucky to have this great place nearby
Glad you found Leks Bikes near the railway station. The huge fresh market nearby is great for a walking video. Hint. It's quite the ali baba bike cave isn't it. His back room n office has even more stuff. Easy to spend a couple of hours in there. I know Thais from other provinces drop by with a written shopping list !
Can you just imagine the value of the stock there.
Lek is Thai for small, but the nice owner Lek is about 6 ft haha. Such a nice guy. Giving slight discounts even without me asking.
That's a good way to describe it haha. The value of the stock must be insane even without many frames. No worries about not being able to find something with this shop nearby.
@@TwoWheelCruise Khun Lek rides a huge grey Long Haul Trucker 60cm, I think. The front end seems to hv been repaired after a crash and there are new welds at the head tube. He n his wife are at Thapae Gate 8am each Sunday selling jerseys for the CMai Sunday Cycling Club. Mostly slow social cycling around town but I've been on one ride that was a 120km round trip.
Happy Merry CruiseMas XD. Thanks for sharing very cool bike shop, that's really cool bike shop I've ever seen.
Thanks and Merry Christmas! :)
@@TwoWheelCruise Speaking of mirror there's cycling mirror that is wear/mount on wrist not sure if it's works better compare to the bike mount one tho.
Old school 'corner' bike store. Cool.
What an absolutely amazing bike shop! No two bike shops are alike, and this one is like discovering a treasure chest of interesting bike parts, clothing, parts, tools and accessories. It's actually smart of the owned not to have the store full of bikes, because then he can fill it full of all of those cool things! Are you planning on showing us what you purchased in another video? I think that we need to know LOL. Thanks again for sharing your awesome adventures!
Thanks! Just some tubes, bike cleaner, and a few basic things for now :)
10-minute ride from there is another shop called Triple Cats Cycle specialized in touring bikes. Very nice place especially if you are fond of cats. The owner is also a friend of Lek Bike.
Thanks for the suggestion! We're gonna try to visit there too.
Catzilla
Hi Merry Christmas to both of you. Have a wonderful Christmas to you Guys.stay safe and be happy always. God bless!🤗⛄️🎄❄️🙏🏻
Thank you and same for you!
Let’s browse!
😃
that shop has posibilities its a dream shop lets go..lol
The Best Bikeshop in Chiangmai
It was my favorite!
I like the brooks saddle ...
Nice shop
This shop probably has more stock than any of the local bike shops here in Toronto Ontario Canada.
I believe it haha
I always like checking out the tires handlebars an stems...
Interesting shop, seems to be well stock.
I use to be using Brooks C19 Cambium Carved. Not really comfy for me on longer distance. Sold that and went with a SQLab Ergoweave 612 and oh my, the difference is very noticeable. Saddle i guess differs for everyone. I heard the C17 leather once season is pretty good..
Yeah, saddles really depend on the person.
Nice bike shop. Fully equipped with all great parts. As for lights, Lyzene make some of the best. I have both rear and front lights from them. With usb charging makes it less stress on the environment.
Thanks for the suggestion!
I thought the bike shop was pretty cool, a great stock of parts, I know where to go for my spare parts now.
Great shop and nice owner :)
You actually touched a Surly Trucker? Many consider it the gold standard of touring bikes. They are rare to find right now. And yes, if you’re touring, get mirrors. Be safe. Blessings.
Oh wow, didn't realize that 😁 It looked like a beast touring bike
I recommend Brooks saddles. You do have to wait a long time for the leather to stretch .
This is really surprising! I never imagined I should visit Chiang Mai in order to get DuraAce components.
Haha yep :)
Nice. Such a variety. But I don't see solid airless tyres .. but great vid as usual. Merry Xmas too
Thanks! I've never seen a shop stock those.
Tannus?
I'm a big fan of the Nite Rider line of bike lights I've got two of them
Thanks for the suggestion!
if you're able to get one I would highly recommend the specialized flux 850 headlight. lots of adjustment if you use a handlebar bag or something. also taking the light off to recharge is quick and easy.
Thanks for the suggestion!
A clip-on sunglasses mirror has been my most valuable piece of gear. More so than a helmet because I've never crashed and hit my head, but there's always some squirrelly driver behind you.
Better to be safe than sorry
Hey there, as always I'm thankful for all the great content and your consistently positive outlook on life. Quick question: I'm looking for a good mic for cycling, what do you use?
We include our camera / mic info in the video descriptions.
I have a surly long haul trucker just Ike the one at 05:22. It has a steel frame and brooks saddle just like that. It’s a beast. Very nice cruiser for cross country rides (not that I do that anyone )
It looks like a beast for touring rides :)
For lights i use Lezyne.
Planet bike lights were nice, use 2xAA batteries, but don't like bumpy roads, front would unscrew and out came the batteries and the LED :(
Pump i love the Lezyne Micro floor Drive, a mini foot pump, and gets to 120psi no problem. They have models with an inline gauge and all have a frame mount. I've had mine for 10 years and still works.
Thanks for the suggestions!
3:15 Thomson in Thailand, cool. The more I watch, the more I see that store is loaded.
That was cool to see
For frame pumps I prefer the Topeak Turbo Morph. It's a miniaturized version of a normal size floor pump. Has a hose to prevent valve damage... you can push into the ground to make pumping easier. It pumps to about 120psi.
I do also carry a battery operated air inflator. The Audter tube shaped one. It gets to 150psi.
Thanks for the suggestions!
I can second that! I have a Road Morph and a Mountain Morph. The Road version has a pressure gauge, the Mountain doesn't. Both have flexible tubes and a fold out stand for pumping. GREAT pumps! Just don't step on the valve head during a clumsy patch job. Thankfully they sell the tube/head individually. Stepping on it cracked mine...
I am using the magicshine RN-1200 it has consistent lighting and acts as an emergency powerbank as well.
Nice, I think we're going with one of their lights
my favorite mirrors from amazon - Bike Peddler Take A Look Cycling Eyeglass Mirror - and - NKLC Bicycle 360 Degree Adjustable Rear View Bicycle Helmet Mirror, Universal Bike Helmet Mirror for Mountain Road Cycling, Safety Bike Mirror
you and thuong would make a good bussiness selling bikes, even better i can see you building your own bike, i would love to see that awsome bike.
Hope to have a bike ship one day 😀
Maybe when you get to Vietnam you can own that bike shop. 😃
My word, for a small family business , what a terrific selection that shop offers! You were like two kids in a sweet shop!
Now, about that so- called big bum saddle, I definitely do not agree with you about their becoming uncomfortable in a longer ride, as a matter of fact ,the over narrow saddles become downright painful for the female anatomy sooner than you think. I ride along bumpy hilly country roads for 40 to 50 km almost days, and I am very grateful for my saddle which is identical to the one in the shop.
Surely your lovely wife deserves a chance to at least try one , they are not expensive and they could improve her riding experience.
Thanks! That's a good point. We are actually starting to look for a more comfortable saddle for her now that we are doing more riding lately.
Magic Shine is nice.
Thailand is picking up on cycling very fast. The stock in that shop is fantastic
It's been growing for a while now. It also helps that it's a very popular place for foreign cyclists to come train in winter.
The most outstanding thing about the bike shop tour is that you were accompanied by your wife, and she didn't try to hustle you out of the bike shop. 🙂 But the shop was pretty darned amazing, eh.
Haha she enjoys the bike shop tours, especially when they're interesting like this one
@@TwoWheelCruise Yes, I could see that. (Some people get all the luck!)

I have Light & Motion lights.
Vis 360 on my helmet
Urban 1000 head light vis 180 on back of frame.
In traffic I think the helmet light is key
Hi, are those shoes the Keen Commuter by chance? 🤔Always wanted to have those, they're like water sandals with cleats, freshest cycling shoes ever!
So cool to find everything you need and more on a store!
Not sure, but maybe.
Interesting seeing Thomson components. Those are made in the USA so I’m assuming they are quite a bit more expensive in Thailand. On a side note I used to own a Brooks Swallow saddle. It was definitely not a good saddle for me.
Yeah, I'd imagine the Thomson stuff would be more expensive here
Was there in ChiangMai in May 2022 but the bike shop has moved. Dont have the details. Weather was too scorching hot to walk
Mirrors for the bike? :) What do you use for your roadbike?
A great bike shop with plenty of inventory. You don’t see that in the states right now. Everything is sold out. All those Handlebar stems. I Love mg brooks saddles. You do need to Break them in it takes about 1000 miles to break them in so a test ride will not work because it will feel uncomfortable at first.
I guess that's true with most saddles, can't judge from just the first few rides.
My grandparents had an exercise bike just like that one at the start of the video
Nice!
Looking for a giant defy advanced 0 small frame. Do you guys have one?.
Great shop! Did they have a workshop?
I didn't see one, but I imagine he must have somewhere to work
You know one cheap trick is to get which ever Bike pump and also buy a keychain Car/Motorbike Tyre pressure digital gauge/meter. Usually either a button-cell or a AAA battery ones. That way you get a very accurate reading and just attach it to your backpack or keychain or wallet or purse etc. :-D
That's a good idea, the pump itself actually works.
Does any shop have Cannondale CAAD Optimo 1 Red size 48, have been looking for this bike for almost 2 years?
Please let me know n see more bikes shop there. Thanks n really want to see.
We will film some more shop tour videos :)
I have a cateye speedometer; I didn't realize when I bought it that it doesn't have a night light; it cost $50.00; then I bought a $15.00 "InBike" speedometer from ebay; it does a lot more, and has a light for night time
On another note; wish we had this type of bike shop in my city; I've gotta travel to get anything done
Do you have bmx bike
Amazing... is this a self service bike store ?!?
I don't think so, but maybe if you have a good relationship
If you frequent Chiang Mai Gate area you should also check out another nice bike shop. The name is Chaitawat.
Much less inventory, very small store.
Haven't been there yet
@@kwhatten just went by that shop today. Yeah they have much less inventory compare to back then.
Holy! This shop definitely a HIDDEN GEM!
BTW, im using Fenix BC21R (both V1 & V2) which comes with 5yrs warranty. I broke both (twice each), emailed fenix china with pic/video proofs & they replaced them - NO QUESTIONS ASK!
Im also using Brooks C17 Carved Cambium on both my Brompton & Salsa Marrakesh (both touring setups). On my Italian Masi classic roadbike, C15 Carved Cambium. (Carved - has a hole in the middle of the saddle, more flex & comfy while riding)
- i was a B17 Lace Aged user for about 9 mths & rode over 2500km+ and the leather has yet "break-in" (maybe because i took good care with profide & adjustment - i dont know) but once i tried cambium, i knew its comfy on my ass without the need for leather "break-ins"
- i had also tried the normal C17 Cambium (without Carved) for a 100km ride. Immediately sold both B17 Laced Aged & C17 Cambium for the "carved" lol
Cheers from Malaysia
Thanks for the info!
Moon lights for both front and rear
Nice!
For mid to high end trail mtb's such as Specialized, Santa Cruz and a like which of ths two locations sells at a lower price? Japan or Thailand?
Btw here in the Philippines prices are high I believe..
The price for big international brands is probably a bit cheaper in Japan. But Thailand has local brands that are good quality and much cheaper like Kaze, which is what we use now.
Hey a ro purifier... It will fix your water issue...
Do they have sales people to help you out?
It's a one man shop I believe
Can you show us how you do your bike maintenance!? monthly? yearly?
We'll try to talk about this in a future video
You should check out Triple Cat Cycles, best bike shop in CHiang mai!
Need to go check it out!
@@TwoWheelCruise the owner is Pnuc, he specializes in touring cycles and accessories, he has a CZcams channel but it’s in Thai
Love that place. Customers sometimes have to man the front of the shop while Pnuc is at the back cooking dinner for the 3 cats.
How are the prices in comparison to Japan? I'd assume Japan is way more expensive?
Quite cheaper here for most things. Tubes are a rip off in Japan.
ចិត្តព្រៃផ្សៃភ្លេងសុទ្ធ
shop a little bit crowded than the bike shop you feature before
Quite the opposite style haha
does that bike shop have a web. address? if so can you post pls. thanks
Yes, posted in video description.
Smart shop keeper - bikes take up too much room for a shop. And you get more regular repeat custom as people tinker with their bikes, which are basically projects that are never perfect or finished.
It definitely allows for more floor space for other stuff
Buahhh 😭 I truly miss Japan...🗾
any of your folding bike parts in this store?
Not in stock no
@@TwoWheelCruise tho' I seem to have seen 406 tires and rims.
What's price like compared to Japan?
Some things are cheaper, some imports are more expensive
lek means little.
Definitely not a little shop though
Why can't you add a rack and milk crate to your mountain bikes and be prepared for shopping?
Because I don't want to remove it whenever I go for normal rides
such a difference between Japanese bike shops and this. Vietnam is at a whole different level (not in a good way :) )
I tried looking at some bike shops when I was in Vietnam, but haven't found any good ones yet. Hopefully they start popping up now that cycling is starting to get more popular.
@@TwoWheelCruise The strange thing is cycling in Vietnam was always big as that is the mode of transport for all school kids. I have connected with all shops so when we both get to go to Vietnam, I'll share the details. The big shops that we can google usually have boring stock compared to small shops. But again the bikes they sell in the small shops could be stolen from abroad and sold here :)
Also, do make a note that HCMC and Hai Phong are good for MTB rides but can't say the same about Da Nang.
It’s like a candy store for cyclists!
Looks like bike heaven to me. Its always a great to have bikeshops that are more diversified in terms of stocks. Awesome stock on touring parts!
For bike lights i'd recommend gaciron branded ones. Cateye is great but you get more value for money on gaciron ones.
Thanks for your suggestion! Agreed, diversified stock bike shops are more interesting :)
How I would love a bike shop like this in the UK. The selection here is beyond pathetic it doesn't seem the sort of shop to move a lot of gear but this selection is second to none if I could find a shop here in the UK that sold half as much I would be more than happy dream on 🤣
Agreed…I’ve never seen that level of stock in a UK bike shop. I guess they are advised by smart-ass consultants like me who tell them to get their DIO metrics down! I’ve given up on brick and mortar shops for most things and get everything sent next day from Sigma Sports.
Looks much more ghetto compared to Japan bike shops
There are plenty of ghetto oldschool bike shops in Japan that don't have 1% of this stock 😅
