Holy crap. Actually looking up what a pheasant and what a chicken looks like (especially looking at a rooster) it makes perfect sense that the puppy most likely terribly trained went after the chickens Edit: Puppy not dog it was like a year old

I think she was just relying on the clear pattern that MAGA fans don't really care about reality but if Trump likes you and liberal talk show hosts criticize you then you are a saint, especially if you can frame it as a rural America vs big city issue. So I think she picked something that would obviously get a reaction by liberals because she figured Trump fans would rush to he aid. Don't get me wrong, she's a psycho for killing the dog and she deserves all of the mockery. But I'm guessing that was the point. People I know have told me they like her cause she can make tough decisions. I was raised as a Christian conservative so the part of my brain that feels disgust is still the strongest. We were the last state in the union to make animal cruelty a felony. It doesn't matter that we even pased that law because no one investigates it.
