Watch a full tutorial as a 2014 BMW X1E84 will have a new backup camera installed to an existing touchscreen Tesla-style screen. Our X1 wasn't equipped with a camera from factory, so we will be installing a license plate camera and wiring to that new screen.
This video applies to BMW X1 E84 models for years (Without upper screen OR with CIC OEM display) 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. This video includes the backup camera wiring, connection, and installation.

I have a BMW X1 2013, is there a camera I can fit that will simply work with the original factory system?
What about all the other functionality of your display that correlates with your car such as music, heat, air and temperature controls and etc, that this backup camera does not show and may not support? That’s a big problem.

do Maps app needs internet in this device?
