Greenshot has pretty much 90% of what snip and sketch has. Plus more practical uses. You have arrows, shapes, all the colours available, lines, arrows, speech bubbles. Add text, draw freehand. No protractor or ruler, but ellipsis and line drawing built in. Snip and sketch is still way behind in my opinion. But thats just me.

Demm I didn't realised the "Try Snip & Sketch" button at snipping tool main menu Lol. I've been using this tool for a long time but just realised that. Thank you for the useful information!

I hate that magnifier in GreenShot, but i disabled it. I programmed all the stuff to my liking, it saves the snip in Clipboard, also on the Desktop or into a predefined folder, and on wish i can open automatically in the editor and draw a border/rectangle/line... Wonderfull program!

I really like SnipnSketch, but I use it a lot for adding screenshots for technical notes, and Greenshot is the only one that gives an option for capturing the mouse cursor :-(

How can you stop displaying the photo size in green, and keep the captured area clean when taking the screenshot?

for me it'd be infuriating if snipping tool wasn't being removed - and be kept saying that it's going away while in reality doesn't fulfill that promise - from the newest major (or minor) update like 21H1 or 21H2. btw snip & sketch is my program of choice - been using this since like march 2019 - and it's a really good screenshot app cuz of its simplicity and the availabilty of the program, and also by highlighting what's important or interesting to the scene without capturing the entire desktop (especially for multiple monitors), s&s really helped me alot.
