- In this really long video I take a close up look and discuss my top 5 favorite smooth barrel darts. All these darts are actually quite a bit different as they range in weight from 14 grams up to 21 grams and the shortest barrel is 43mm while the longest is 55mm. All the darts have an average price of approx $33usd so it just goes to show that awesome darts don't have to cost a lot of money. ENJOY THE VIDEO!!!

Merry Christmas, I have the 22g Orion's, 23g RD Sleex straight barrel. At the moment I'm waiting for the Loxley Robin darts to arrive very soon. Can't wait to throw them.

Merry christmas I absolutely loves smooth darts I use 19g terry jenkins and they are awesome I get better grip off of smooth darts than gripped darts

I have 14g Hankeys, too. I love them.
Smoothies were a god send for me. Found most other barrels would tend to grab or stick on my fingers. Tried chalk to some effect, but smoothies were what I needed. Never heard of smooth barrels until a few years ago.
Got fingerprinted for the SEC and the cop asked if I worked with my hands. I laughed and said no, though I do a lot of home improvement. He said my prints were very pronounced. I think that is why my fingers grip so well.
Cool, just traded for some Robin Loxley darts because I always wanted to try smooth barrels. Will see how it goes! Appreciate the video

Designa smoothies front loaded 21 gram are my favorite smooth dart. Nothing beats a sub 30$ dart that throws well.

I love smooth darts, feel so effortless to throw. Great video. I play with pieman darts and am going for front load smoothies next. Smooth darts are cheap, don't cut up and feel so different to throwing regular darts. My first ever set of darts were hankeys and they're still one of my all time favourites.
Pieman's are nice. If I recall I think I threw really well with them for the review

Ordered my first set of Smoothies yesterday!
Just an update. I have ditched my Harrows 95% 23g Wolfram darts and have been throwing my 22g Smoothies for a few days now. The grip is incredible, unlike any dart I've thrown. I have a lot more control and my average has increased. My rough hands often catch on traditional non-grippy darts. I really like to pair them with the Harrows Speedline stems and standard flight. Fits my throw almost perfect. I am still going to experiment with different stem lengths, but it's been fantastic. You helped improve my game! Thanks, brother!

I throw with the Hankey darts at 21 gram i think ,i don't even remember what they weigh.
But it's an awesome dart and i can highly recommend them.

It's a very grippy set of darts so if you like grip then it should be great! Discount is facebookers but it doesn't work with things already on sale or Winmau items.
How close were piemans to the list? I have them in 20.5 gram great dart. Also enjoy bunting G3 in 23 gram. Now gonna get the designa smoothies curved in 23g to have a go as I like the shape. Happy Christmas
If I still had them they probably would have taken the #5 spot. I wasn't a huge fan of them overall but if I recall I threw lights out with them on the review video.

Got the 24g straight barrel smoothies after watching your reviews, first time I’ve ever not been able to remove a point from a dart. Tried all sorts of brute force using my designa tool and not a bit of movement. Have you tried to remove them with any luck ? I think they must be glued
Yeah, never had an issue removing points on any set of darts. I did have one point that came out kinda rough though. Had to give it some extra torque.

I don't think I could use smooth barrels never tried but I've always been decent with a bit of grip but I've not played long enough to know all darts only a couple months so I'm reluctant to change because I don't know my potential
It's worth a try. Many of the top professional players in the world use a dart with very little grip. Not necessarily a smooth barrel but it's not uncommon.

The only set of almost smooth are my Tareget Steven Bunting 23g set. I don't play them. I guess I thought I could throw them but sadly they just slip and can't grip.
Are those the nano grip ones?
