I grew up in Brown County back in the 70’s. About a half mile from Story. My dad was a conservation officer in the park and my mom worked in the courthouse. We would ride our horses up to the Inn and tie them to the hitching post before going inside for a biscuits and gravy breakfast. Oh the memories ❤
I too in the early 70's would ride horses and motorcycles from the Bartholomew/Brown county line to Story among other places. I don't believe it was in operation at the time but the area was still enchanting. For some reason unknown to me I always felt at piece their.
The first time I saw the town around 1969 or 70, I am not sure if the store was in operation but there was a lot of what at the time I would have called junk on the porch. As I remember the rest of the area looked just as it does today. The General store is the only change that I recognized a few years ago when I passed through. The store looks very similar as to the first time I saw it.
Been there so many times . Lived 30 min away at one time . Loved horses rode them
