There's not a whole lot you can do to avoid the Otto-Ghosts... Just try to stay away from them and hope that they blow themselves up (which can happen).
Heh, I've been trying to avoid them but Homer's just such a large target when rolling around. I guess I'll just keep trying until I get it - at least it looks like this isn't the hardest challenge the game throws at you....

You could try using Gummi Homer to shoot the Otto-Ghosts from a distance...
