Review: HK45 Tactical
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 26. 04. 2018
- In this episode, TFBTV's Corey Wardrop takes a look at the HK45 Tactical. A more-managable derivative of the HK USP, the HK45 boasts a 10-round magazine, night sights, standard Picatinny rail, and threaded barrel. We test three types of ammo, discuss some of the available options, and look at some of the small parts after a field strip.

.45 is pretty common in europe tbh. especially for hunters. you need the power for wild boars. eg. i hunt with 4 other dudes and we all have .45
Tested to 50k rounds with only two malfunctions. Best pistol in the world.
I EDC an hk45ct, ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! .... ALTHOUGH, I'd argue that the HK mark 23 has the title of "best pistol in the world"....but we can definitely agree HK is hands down without question THE BEST FIREARMS MANUFACTURER IN THE WORLD!!! FOR SURE
â@@noelhalwick1568hk, Beretta, CZ , Walther, and SIG
I have an older Tactical with a Osprey suppresor. Love the accuracy and the quiet. The clanging of the gongs is louder than the shot.
The original USP 45 was one of the best and nicest shooting 45's ever made, which is pretty funny considering what it is. It was also one of the first easy options for a DA/SA left handed pistol.
parodox of the usp it's actually better to be left-handed because controls don't get in a way of your grip
I've wanted this sooooo bad! Thank you TFB
the hk 45 is my trump stimulus gun. love it carried everyday over the winter. It works so well suppressed with no work which just tickled me pink
The way I would describe the LEM trigger is where most hammer guns are double/single, the LEM is single/double, and you only get the double if something goes wrong. If everything is going smoothly, you'll get a consistent nearly single action trigger pull every time; the weight of that "single action" is also about 1 lb through the pull and 4-5 lb at the wall. If there's a light strike, then it goes to double and you can pull again.
You mispronounced âsorryâ in Canadian itâs pronounced âsrryâ.
"sore-ee"
Good review. Thanks for the info.
That's a sweet pistol bravo wow 100 thumbs up great video.
6/10 Review; No Book of Eli reference.
Dude got the lightest DA/SA HK45 ever. I feel like HK sent TFB that model.
We want hk guru alex back lol
That intro had me dying bruh ur cold đđ
"I did not do well at all" lol. So true. I like seeing fail. Truth is good vid.
Excellent gun, HK quality is about as good as polymer can get. Barrel on these are still German made also.
Good review, would have liked to see the decocker in action a few times.
Great sidearm I carry the Hk45c tactical daily. itâs a very versatile handgun you can use the 8+1 for a shorter grip or the 10+1 with the elephant foot mag...that coupled with the threaded barrel puts you at a full sized barrel length with a little less bulk up front. Oh yeah and another thing they arenât tattooed to all hell with the word âTACTICALâ everywhere. Went on a bit of a tangent there.....anyway.....another good video by TFB đđ
I was stupid and traded my USP TACTICAL 45 awhile back for an AR build. đ„
Canadians actually pronounce it as "Sorry" as in rhymes with "Glory" (long 'O') đ€Ł
Was actually a hilarious joke âsorryâđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Oh to have VP45s...
I wonder if he ever figured out his trigger pull gauge was dead wrong
Mine came with the suppressor height Hackathorn â developmental â night sights. Flat giant black rear with a giant tritium single dot on the front. I really like these sights. Iâve got I Dots on my G-27( not bad) and three dot tritiums on my.357( Iâm old, I like my wheel guns). The Hackathorns are my favorite. If you canât do it with 10⊠throw it at em. I really like the slam slide release feature as well ( I called HK, itâs supposed to do that)
Can you take a look at this new 9mm pistol: Sarsilmaz SAR9.
It`s a combination between a Clock and a Heckler & Koch.
Looks cool, reliable and affordable and is from Turky.
i love how he says "keeps it down 10db" like its no biggie...... for context, something that increases in volume by 3db is doubling in its actual loudness. So, 10db reduction..... thats quite a suppression increase with just some water.
I believe I did correct myself on the screen. -Corey
Not to get pedantic but technically it depends upon what your are measuring for decibels. You have loudness which is basically for every increase in 10 dB level, the sound is perceived as twice as LOUD as the single occurrence. Meaning that for every 10 levels, the loudness is ten fold. So if you have a single typewriter that measured a loudness of 50dB, 10 typewriters would by measured at 60dB and 100 typewriters would be measured at 70dB.
The other aspect you have is power which is what actually damages your ears. Most sound meters that people use to measure suppressors, measure the pressure wave or power of the sound emitted and not the loudness or tone. Decibel power measurements have a completely different logarithmic scale than that of the "loudness" scale. That power scale is more like for every increase in 2dB, the sound wave has double the power.
Read these pages to get a better understanding of how decibels are scaled and measured.
Sound pressure explanation: www.epd.gov.hk/epd/noise_education/web/ENG_EPD_HTML/m1/intro_5.html
Loudness: www.noisehelp.com/decibel-scale.html
If you bend your elbows and shoot the right way your triceps absorb the recoil. The way youâre shooting by locking your arms out your wrists are flopping all over and you canât control the recoil.
As an Hk fanatic, you need to try an LEM. In an Hk LEM is the way to go. Their DA/SA triggers arenât anything to write home about. The Reset on the LEM variant is in the same place as the SA in a SA/DA variant, and the weight can be configured from 4.5-8 lbs depending on preference. Also you should probably double check that price. They had a big price drop around the beginning of the year and itâs now 999$ on their site.
The LEM may be the way to go out of the box, but after Gray Guns takes it in and reworks the internals and drops the reset by 40% then puts a nickel finish on the internals the DA/SA becomes superior. Also, swapping between Sig P226/P229 DA/SA itâs nice to have the same trigger function.
@@dustang5.O all those same upgrades can be done to the LEM variants
The CAN makes the rig! More KAC Stuff please. Need an SR-25 video and a really nice SR-15/16 video. Preferably an SR-15 E3 MOD 1 Carbine video, sexy-ass dimples and all đ
I found the FNX-45 grip was just a teeny bit too big, but the HK45 was juuuuuust right.
how did you get a KAC I want
Great way to start a video
Good review as usual. God Bless!
Iâm getting accountant flashbacks
Go with the USP 45 Elite
Barrel length matters with a Match trigger đ
News flash, you can conceal carry. This is my everyday conceal carry gun, and if you dress right you won't print.
I carry mine on occasion. Not ideal but it can be done without too much fuss.
Same here. How do you dress with it? I just use a loose-fitting plaid shirt.
Usually any oversized shirt with a inside/outside waistband NEXT Holster. Next holsters actually special made me a holster to shield the threaded barrel. Good folks
Can u add Red Dot sites in the HK45?
I see what your tying to shoot for regarding a solid review and replacement for Patric but itâs not quite there .
I love the .45, But when a round cost just shy of a dollar it is prohbitively expensive.. (no, I don`t live in the us) Sometimes i see ammo as low as about 50 cents on rare occations.
Hey guys, great video!
Do you know of a good holster that would hold this pistol with a light attached to it?
Cheers!
I'll let you know in 2-4 weeks about my Valknut IWB holster fitted for an HK45 V1 (DA/SA with control lever) with an X300U or X300 Turbo (same dimensions). I ordered it from Odin Holsters. They accommodate Tactical models as well if you ask for the open-ended holster and suppressor-height sight options (free). They have OWB holsters, too.
@@45calibermedic Awesome! I've bought the Blackhawk Omnivore in the meantime. As soon as my X300 arrives, I'll get to testing it as well :)
The Philippines loves the 45 ACP (and the 1911) equally or possibly even more than the US, ironically enough.
I've seen some videos of Filipinos making 1911s all by hand, without power tool. And honestly they looked just as good if not better than some factory production guns.
So do South Americans, from what I hear.
TheFilipinoKnight you know , I swear I've heard that before . possible an episode of forgotten weapons đ€đ€but I can't remember.
Itâs quite true. Caliber debates are very heated in the Philippine gun community. The military especially is such a firm believer in 45. They call the 9mm âthe police caliberâ and say you use it if you donât want to kill. Official sidearm as of last year was the 1911 and only just recently got replaced by the Glock 17. But if you talk to marines and special forces they almost always carry 1911s in 45. They claim itâs more effective in the field.
I thought in Canada they donât allow owning a suppresser?
Could TFB please bring back Run and Gun courses?
do you need the headphones with a suppressor?
đđđđ great job!
Got the shakes?
As a Canadian, we donât know what our suppressors sound like since our government wonât let us own them : (. The hk45 was my first handgun and I loved it, great video!
I thought it was funny. Surprised James didn't think of that joke. :)
The trigger pull seems so light compared to mine. :(
Is the HK45 essentially a P30 but in 45? What are the differences?
The Hk45 is considerably larger
the HK45 is basically a USP 45 designed for US Special Ops, it was made more ergonomically and with several other small features to make it more modern. Its safe to think of the HK45 as the gap between the P30 and the USP.
One of the best polymer handguns to-date. It is actually easy to conceal carry being the same size as the Springfield XD45 Service model. I am not really sure about that whole recoil capture gizmo thingy. Side-by-side comparison to the XD45, the recoil impulse feels the same to me...a subjective difference if any.
I been down this road before.
Nothing like shooting suppressed AND wearing hearing protection.
Ignorant
Lol suppressors donât work as well as you think
Anyone know the make and model of that suppressor?
Looks like a Knight's Armament, built for the Mark 23 and USP 45. It's old design.
You can only get them with raised sightsnow
In California these are going for $1600 in new condition if you buy from a private party. Not on Ca roster. I just saw one a couple days ago for $1100 and it sold in an hour i offered $1100 and it was too late
U-Haul time, good buddy. I hear Texas is nice.
Can we watch a gun video without a Glock involved? If we want to watch a Glock weâll type Glock. PS. It was a great review! A nice perspective on this German beauty.
Nice
Went with the HK45 compact. Itâs smaller, easier to carry, and can use the 10 round magazines. For a full size 45 pistol, Iâd skip the HK45 for a USP 45 or FNX 45T which hold more rounds.
Left handed threads donât back out when suppressor attached. Germans are actually smart. Not like the rest of the 1/2x28 crowd
This dude flinches bad lol.
Is it me or its broken ? Pretty sure that slide catch isnt supposed to fully come out , just protrude out of the left side ?
alexg36c on the Hk45 it does come all the way out like on a USP
Oh okay I found its strange that its not like the p30 since its ambidextrous. But I guess I learn something new everyday
An important question- if you have views on a video before it gets demonetized, do you get paid for the views that had ads on them? I'm curious because I watch the ads on the presumption that it benefits TFBTV. If it doesn't, I'm going to skip.
BOI IF YOU DONT GIVE THIS MAN A PROMOTION
Wouldnât a Canadian suppressor say âsoaryâ?
That's a big doggo
Wait those kinds of suppressors are real and not just movie props
I think the HK pistol is a very go firearm however I still personally Prefer good old colt 1911.... AMERICA!!đșđžđșđžđșđž
yep, it shoots bullets
I hope u know that Canadian suppressor joke was fucking hilarious
Sadly not allowed to have Suppressors in Canada!! 2yr jail if caught and 10 year no gun's allowed
I liked this video however I am extremely disappointed in the lack of DA trigger use.
I absolutely should have included that - it's probably just personal bias, but I hate DA triggers in general. It comes from my military days trying to qual with the M9. I avoid it any chance I get. Next time. - Corey
Ahh its no biggie im rather fond of DA/SA's.....by way to the Beretta 92
Dao is because cops aren't given much training. it's to prevent them from firing if they aren't sure. It easier to have crap gear than pay to train Leo
To all you fnx guys, can you take the gun all the way apart and have you heard of their frames cracking... not a problem with hk...
The HK45 was supposed to be like a modernized single 1911 so the 10 round capacity makes sense. It makes the grip much nicer.
Single stack magazine**
when did TFB start reviewing crew served weapons?
That would be the MK23.
I really, really want one of these for my silencer.
15:25 Its not rocket science dude. It so you can hold the gun in your right hand and easily thread the barrel on with your left hand.
Sourey
good thing you miss some times because i want to hear how does it sound when you hit something soft, that's the point of videos with suppressors, i want to hear how well silencer works :(
say "now i'll miss few times to show you how quiet it is" more often please
In order to avoid blowing out your speakers, we "normalize" the audio (remove the sound spikes), so there's really not much you can tell from a CZcams video, unfortunately. :/ - Corey
Now i understand, thank you for answear Corey
So it's basically an updated USP45 with the same limited 10 round mag capacity
Excalibur01 actually itâs more limited, the USP has a 12 round capacity.
Even more so
The USP is much bigger, however. The USP Tactical is stupid bigger. The Mk23 is "omg lol, are you kidding me" bigger. - Corey
TFB TV
HK handguns like those are dream guns for me and I'd love to own a couple of them one day. Still, I've always been kind of stumped over how they managed to make the Mk23 nearly the size of a Desert Eagle, yet only cram 12 rounds into it. Even the Para P14-45 had better capacity and was just a slightly thicker 1911. It seems to me like the Mk23 should've held at least as much ammo.
*>AmbidexTREEous*
>PicaTEENY rail

EZ ONE TAP
the MK23 is not a USP
Corey, I appreciated your great Shot Show coverage for TFB but you might want to leave gun reviews to some of the other guys. This doesn't really seem to be in your wheelhouse. No offense.
youre not even remotely right about the LEM trigger system.
i have a video about it if you want to learn what it is.
and your scale is set to KGs not LBS. theres no way you have a 2.7lbs pull
That is one ugly suppressor.
Can you convert a HK45 into a HK45 Tactical?
Swap barrel
Ct looks way cooler tbh
GSG-9 on Rainbow 6 Siege Anyone?
Does it hold 15 rounds like my FNX45 tac?? No??? Do Not Want
What should TFB say to it's readers since Rachel Y started spamming advertisements all over the website? Sorry......
this thing is way oversized, like a cordless drill
adolfhilter huge!!!!! Need suspenders to edc that damn thing
Sadly his many mispronunciations include... dampening instead of the correct damp-ing... ambidex-treee-us instead of the correct ambidex-truss... polygonn-al instead of the correct poh-lig-un-il... it goes on and on with this guy.
Sooorey
*muffled sorry*
That joke killed the video. Next
How? Because you're as cucked as Canada? *Big think*
Not a good review at all. Reviewer did not know basic terms of the firearm. Should have at lease studied the weapon before doing this review.
Dilly Dilly!
Perhaps you'd like to educate us all where I went wrong, xw4? - Corey
I will help showcase your shortcomings in the review.
1. You didnât research why it has reverse threads
2. Your knowledge of HK pistols is severely lacking making you look ignorant.
3. You have no knowledge of the LEM trigger and why it is superior.
4. You didnât recognize that the recoil system is taken from a USP compact.
5. You failed to mention itâs main competitor, the FNH .45 tactical, which is cheaper and does a better job at bringing the same features to the trials.
6. Your shooting sucks.
7. The fact the the right side lever falls off is not cool, itâs stupid because itâs something to loose in the field.
8. You didnât mention how any of the developments that HK made to this pistol spilled over into following designs such as the p30.
In short, you have to admit it was a very lackluster review. Amateur at best, comical at worst.
Kingwiththeax But tell me how you really feel King.
-Miles
Kingwiththeax I disagree with you on #3 and #7, but I won't argue with the rest. Lol. -Corey
Epic pistol in fortnite
I'm gonna say something else, but first, I need to stop mid-sentence and swallow loudly...
Iâve hated double action only my whole adult life because as a cop we view it as a punishment lol
