    So Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown is upon us, and I have made this video to help you determine which character you should try out! Its hardly an exhaustive guide(each character is so in depth a proper guide would be minimum 1 hour long each) but should give you a decent idea of the basics of each character and hopefully help you on your journey! This game is launching on playstation plus so there is more than likely millions of people out there trying VF for the first time and I hope I can help make your experience a bit more enjoyable!

    Having Akira as the face of the game may be a very subtle form of communicating 2 messages from Yu Suzuki to the gen pop.
    1. He looks like your standard middle of the road Ryu pick up and play character when he’s anything but. He isn’t just deep and hard to master BUT he’s simultaneously button mashing resistance personified and learning him requires a serious investment of time and energy but also if you DONT learn him you have no chance. Most ppl unfamiliar with the game will choose him cuz he looks like Ryu upon first playing and that will be their first lesson with this game; this is gonna be WAY harder than you think and there is depth here but you gotta unlock it.
    2. Akira being 1 of the hardest to learn and certainly the hardest original character to learn and also being the face of the game is a message to those that know the game; This game is deep, difficult and rewarding. Ppl that know Akira is a bear to learn seeing him as the mascot can also recognize him as a metaphor for the entire engine itself. He speaks not only to the depth of the system but also the reward that comes from mastering it since he, once mastered, is one of the most powerful characters . Once one learns the game they can make any character a complete beast…
    Okay okay I’ll go take a walk!

    • @jonathanfobbs6299
      @jonathanfobbs6299 Před 3 lety

      @@komlat253 you have a point there, Marshall. It's possibly a situation where a person is imagining "complex" but does not yet have a frame of reference to picture what that term means relative to the game, you know? At the risk of melodrama, I find many subjects to be this way. Nature for example. We know there are "a lot" of stars or spiders, but when someone starts sharing numbers it becomes overwhelming. Suddenly we realize our "a lot" only holds up relative to our experience.
      I think that, depending on the individual, if the experience calls for a certain threshold of depth, they'll instead choose to return to what they were doing before.
      We probably all have some subject or experience that puts us in that spot.
