This may only be a short movie but it's an absolute masterpiece that never gets old. Rest in peace Stan and ollie bless you for the joy and laughter you gave to the world....
Stan and Ollie. The first comedy team that demonstrates physical comedy during the 1930's ,1940's , and the 1950's. They were one of the best comedy teams that made us laugh more and more. And also a classic at this.
Good Comedy never dates it remains good for all time. Laurel and Hardy comic genius and the two greatest actors to ever grace the Silver Screen. R.I.P Stan and Ollie
The greatest double act ever! Always makes me laugh when the postman tells them they should have taken the road to the top and THEY CARRY IT BACK DOWN!
Funny that as after the past forty years I’ve seen it over 40 times. Yep a big fan, and they’ve restored it to 2k, adds a lot more small detail & quality, amazing really for such a old film.
The song played at the beginning is "The King's Men" which was a big hit in 1930. Notice the wonderful Los Angeles Railway streetcar passing in the first scene!
Scandalous that this was their one and only Oscar winning film. I read somewhere that even then it was only for the physical effort of lugging the box up the stairs so many times.
I have liked them since I was a child... 2 STARS⭐⭐,they are,and they will shine for an eternity I laugh with the movies they made,😅😅😅 But also sad they are gone, but they will be in our hearts forever, and in the history of comedy shows for EVER ❤
And it was all so cleverly done - 1932 technology without computers! They wouldn't get anywhere near as good today, no matter how hard they tried. Was this the ultimate masterpiece of all slapstick comedy I wonder?
Recuerdos de mi niñez ,con mis hermanos. Cómo disfrutábamos con éstas series. Todo un clásico. Con un buen doblaje mexicano y voces adecuadas a los personajes. Gracias. Saludos de Perú.
I swear, this pair's comedic struggle with anything they ever tried to do (characters and maybe also actors to a small degree), is very much like my life. I've failed at almost everything I put my hand to (except these two are famous).
My favourite scene was always the one with the Professor 😂 and the bell flying through the window and breaking the glass 😂 Ollie just ring it to much 🤣
One of their best ever shorts. So much to like about this episode. I always laugh when hardy always ends in the water. Still carnt believe they took the organ all the way back down when they realised there was a road to the house. A classic
10:42: love it when Stan sends this self-inflated blowhard's hat down the stairs, a rare insight into Stanley's complete disregard for such blather! It's little things like this that i like so much about Stan Laurel. Then we watch the hat tumble down the stairs, knowing what's going to happen, the music stops, the hat gets run over...pure delight, my favourite scene!
I always believed that the boys' films were much better with background music. However, the music in this re-edit doesn't add much, since it's not original early 1930s scores from from either Leroy Shield or Marvin Hatley.
THESE stairs THAT LAUREL AND HARDY USED in THE SHORT movie CALLED THE music BOX CAN still BE SEEN TODAY AND this SHORT movie is OVER 100 AND 20 YEARS OLD 😁
You know you need to get out more when you recognize the piano music played over the opening credits is called "The Kings Horses". "The Kings horses, the kings men marched down the street and they marched back again." Seems appropriate.
STAN LAUREL DIED FROM A HEART ATTACK AT THE AGE OF 65 YEARS OLD AND OLIVA NORVAL HARDY DIED FROM A STROKE AT THE AGE OF 74 YEARS OLD AND THEY WERE THE FUNNIEST COMEDY TEAM THAT EVER LIVED 😔
Laurel et hardy ont reçu un oscar pour le meilleur court métrage the music box et le titre français livreurs sachez livrer 1932 un chef d'oeuvre absolut 2 bobines dans la filmographie de stan et ollie.
It’s not the original music, don’t know why they removed the original music for, it’s a stamp, goes with every one of their shorts. I just find the original, somewhere else

I'm with you, John. I prefer the original version without the slapstick music commencing throughout the movie. It ruins the satire of this novelty classic completely. UGH!!!!!😣
Have loved this movie since childhood. The music soundtrack here is different from the original. It's too much. Whoever added this soundtrack needs to tone it down.

Laurel and Hardy got a well deserved Oscar for this wonderful short movie!
One of their best and most L&H comedies were great!
I agree.

Two gorgeous Men, what a time, few cars, sunny weather no Smartphone....👍🏼😆😆
I'm 65 and I've been watching these guys since I was kid
And The Music Box is still hilarious.
I'm 76 and the same😁😁
I'm 55 & the same no act will ever come close to their humour & timings.
The quality of these still stand up today, hilarious, great stunts and acting, I laugh as much as an adult as when I was a kid

Stan and Ollie are simply the best !
The song played at the beginning is "The King's Men" which was a big hit in 1930. Notice the wonderful Los Angeles Railway streetcar passing in the first scene!
The most perfect half hour of comedy ever put to film.
this movie is a hoot i havent seen it in a long time it has stood the test of time of being the most funny movie of all time🙂
Scandalous that this was their one and only Oscar winning film. I read somewhere that even then it was only for the physical effort of lugging the box up the stairs so many times.
I love Laurel & Hardy movies since I was a kid
As a kid this is one of the most memorable ..along with the chimney sweep and the one where they trying to sell xmas trees! :) :)
Absolutely HILARIOUS!!

Old is gold.My favourite actors.I am watching this video again after 21 years. Love from India.❤
My favourite scene was always the one with the Professor 😂 and the bell flying through the window and breaking the glass 😂

Thje first time I saw this, is at least 50 years ago. It is still funny as hell.
The Two Greatest Actors that have ever graced the Silver Screen.
R I.P Stan and Ollie and thank you for the best of times ❤
The best comedy team ever.

My favorite short too. It's a masterpiece.
Great great great🎹🎹
The Professor is a hoot. So good and pompous! What a movie!
THIS WAS MY MOMS FAVORITE. SHE SAW IT IN A THEATER AS A TEENAGER WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT
Two great funny people 🤣 😄
So funny, timeless comedy. R.I.P Stan and Ollie.

I love them but not another language or the silent ones and the music box is funny 😅
Amazing duo.
17:51 love how olly stands directly under piano while ascending the ladder😂
😂😂😂 👍
❤❤❤I love L and H....God bless them both.
I always believed that the boys' films were much better with background music. However, the music in this re-edit doesn't add much, since it's not original early 1930s scores from from either Leroy Shield or Marvin Hatley.
NOT the original music. Why the hell did you feel talented enough to mess with this?
I don't know what the original music was, but the replacement music was way too loud!
Agreed. This cannot be bettered....stick with the original.
Laurel and hardy don't need music. They are music.
They earned an Oscar for this little masterpiece in 1932. But the music was not present in the original setting......
It's an era when you could film around los angeles without been botherd
That was one sturdy piano, to take all that abuse and still be playable.
That was no nowadays crap , that was the real deal , lasted at least a hundred years , or in this case one day...
@@koen8185 It's a movie... there's no piano in that box...
All Sound Affects!!
Why oh why the soundtrack ?..
The best one for me,I hate pianos 🎹 😤 😅🤣😂 Classic L & H glad we still have their films 🎥 to make us laugh again & again...
Marvellous! Just sublime!!
I love the music box the best

You have their dates reversed. Stan died at 74 and Ollie at 65.
Classic you don't get comedy like this these days

Quelle bonne nouvelle ! 👍🏼
@@philippemoi8082 ya un problème je vien de vous apprendre que les grands comiques laurel et hardy ont eux un oscar vous ne le saviez pas ptit gars
Very very classic Laurel and Hardy. The upgraded music ruined the whole thing. They should have stuck with the original.
Agreed
Yes I agree it put you off watching the movie
I'm proud of my brother Gary been in the army
Sorry, to loud music....
The new and improved sound track is nothing but a distraction from the movie . Can it.
I still work with these two people on a daily basis 😢,😂
The soundtrack is how I remember it from the 1950s.
Excellent film, not excellent soundtrack
It's AN Amazing Short 🎥 Film.STAN AND OLLIE AT Their Best.Seen IT Many Times Growing Up.Always Just As Funny As 😁 😂 Ever!!
this music feels like it’s from the 40s not the early 30s.
It’s not the original music, don’t know why they removed the original music for, it’s a stamp, goes with every one of their shorts. I just find the original, somewhere else
I'm a big fan of them but putting different music over the film isn't needed, I'd rather watch the original
@@BigDaveW6799 I prefer the orignal version, too.
Love these guys ... they were so, so good
The 7wat that did the music wants a good slap :)
