What a pleasure it was to flip through the vintage cookbook with you, Janet! Lots of wonderful photos and memories hidden in there. The pics of your garden are wonderful. Your cookbook cover is lovely, and a great way to use the fabric scroll you had previously made. I have my mama’s cookbook that she used when I was little. 😊 I would love to see a flip-through of Freddie’s little album - the pics we could see of him when he was a puppy are sooooo adorable! 🤗🐾❤️ I hope you enjoyed some of your gingernut biscuits with a nice hot cuppa - they looked very yummy! Yes, even when it’s hot out, I still have to have my coffee. ☕️😋☕️ Loved hearing the birds chittering away as you and Freddie were walking through the field. Thanks so much for sharing with us! 😊❤️🐾 Oh, and yes, we probably ALL should dress as a Christmas pudding at some point in our lives! 🤭

No. No I don't have a cookbook--like this!!! lol (but now I want one!) What an absolute DELIGHT for all the senses--"That's me...dressed up as a Christmas Pudding..." I laughed and laughed. The puppy pics of Freddie were nearly too much, SO ADORABLE. I've never seen a more brilliant cookbook. Ever. I learned about Golden Syrup (and on a previous video English Rock Cakes, I must try!) SOME Americans call them "flap jacks", it's a regional thing. Here, in the up-north sticks we've always called them pancakes (fun fact: my cousin has always called French toast "bread pancakes", hahhaha, pancakes made with bread. Gotta love toddler logic, he's 50 and still calls it that.) What a perfectly wonderful, ever evolving keepsake. Absolutely love it. This was so much fun I'm watching it again (and again, likely)

What a lovely memory cookbook Janet. I never would have thought of using a cookbook I use as a memory book. I love that idea. I had to giggle at the picture of the boys on Christmas with their paper crowns. My family still does Christmas crackers every year even though we live in the States now. All our Christmas photos have the paper crowns! When you got to the Christmas pudding recipe I got a craving for one. I LOVE English Christmas pudding. Great memories Janet. Hi Janet, I have been away from home for a few days and came back to relax with your wonderful flip through Friday. I so enjoyed seeing your cookbook and photos and hearing your memories. Just wonderful! I do have a favorite recipe book that holds my recipes as well, though i have not decorated it yet. I have written little notes about the recipes though and who gave them to me, or perhaps whose favorite it was, or some other happy memory I associate with it. Its a pleasure to thumb through it and relive the memories. After seeing your beautiful book, i think i may decorate it a bit and maybe add a few photos. You shared some lovely ideas andI thank you.
The pugs got a nice walk today, despite the drizzly weather and are resting now. They send hellos to Freddie and we all wish you a happy crafting weekend!

I just loved your flip through and I adore seeing Freddy! My dog also crosses his front legs and it always makes us smile every time we see it. He’s the only dog we’ve ever had that does that so it really made me smile to see Freddy do it.❤

Oh Janet this was so amazing! 🧚✨💕 Absolutely love the cover you’ve created for this family treasure of a cookbook! It reminds me of my Better Homes and Gardens cookbook - it was my Mom’s and now mine, and it is loaded with clippings, notes and handwritten recipes written on various papers which are so nostalgic! Some of the paper that was used has the name of an old job my parents had or a location they once lived or school they once attended. They are wonderful time capsules! Don’t you just love how the cookbook pages get covered with spills and stains from the kitchen? The most stained pages are usually the best recipes haha! 😂 I love the idea of also filling the pages with stamps and pictures, that’s brilliant. I just may go add a few pics to mine. Thank you so much always for this wonderful time together, always so relaxing and inspiring! Hugs to dear Freddie! 🐶✨💕

Such a nice idea, Janet. I love the memories included with the recipes. I have a couple of old books of handwritten recipes from my mother. It was sort of like a scrapbook, too. I love them so much.

I use to have a lot of similar magazines and cards with recipes. After multiple moving nationally and internacional they are only in my mind, and you remind me of them❤ thank you for sharing

It is fun opening old family cookbooks and Bibles. The things we find are so wonderful. I have given my children the old family books already but when I go over, if I feel the need, I go through them. It was nice to see your family, young family. Thank you for todays smile. 💙

@@janetnash second try lol, I can crochet but patterns can be hard. It could just be that it's not my thing LOL I just can't seem to stop making socks. I almost have the pattern memorized. LOL Even with my old brain. LOL I would love to knit you a pair. They would be great in your boots when you and Freddie go for walks.

I love it Janet! How fun to have memories in your cookbook. You clever lady! It's funny, I was going through the recipes I've received to determine how I want them in the Friends of the Trolley cookbook and thought that I want it to be more than just a cookbook, I want it to be a journal as well. Perhaps a photo and note about a time when we tried the recipes out. Thank you! I love that idea!
I have seen other people in the UK with baking instructions with gas marks. What are gas marks?
Marti oh fab idea, what fun you’re ‘ friends of the trolley ‘ journal is going to be. I love that stage where you find yourself thinking about it and planning.
The gas mark is for people who have a gas oven to set the temperature. Now it is more common to have an electric oven and a separate gas hob for saucepans, that is what I have. 👩🍳

@@janetnash we do, I think they're a bit different than over there. I use a gas stove/oven. Many prefer electricity.
