She is so pretty!❤ The beforever can probably be easily restored. They are really cute together! The plaid Christmas dress is Addy's. There is another holiday cranberry dress for Samantha that has a lace bodice. The earlier PC one has hearts in the lace. PayPal is good because it helps if you're scammed! I love that horse!! It was fun seeing you open up your first PC doll a few vids back. I have ‘91 Samantha and her school desk. Mom even kept the order slips lol. I was one of those kids who was super cautious and never played with my Samantha’s or Kirsten’s hair and have both of them sitting on my shelf in ‘91/ ‘92 factory condition! Super grateful now, but with Kirsten’s release, I NEED to get newer versions of both of these dolls so I can throw their hair absolutely friggin’ everywhere. 😂😂

The plaid dress came with a tea set in a special edition set for Christmas. I have that dress but I really love the burgundy/cranberry one you put on the dolls. They are both really pretty. Thank you for sharing.
Ahhhh the tartan dress came in a set! Turns out the lot I bought is the Costco set plus the frilly frock and nightgown. The cranberry dress is a strange material but it looks nice at least.
I didn't know there were 2 versions of the dress either...I just looked it up on AG Fandom and it shows a picture of the Costco set...it came with BeForever Samantha in meet dress, the coat set, and the version of the Christmas dress you unboxed.
I think BeForever sometimes gets an unfair bad rap. Yes, they often aren't as historically accurate, but there are some genuinely good outfits in there. And for the OG dolls, or the ones older in the line, it gave them some new stuff for people to purchase- which is necessary if we actually want the dolls to stay uncubed. Of course, not all the outfits are a hit... hilariously you have both my fav Samantha BeForever outfit and my absolute least favorite BeForever outfit that is only beaten by Felicity's BeForever meet in terms of how much I dislike it. To each their own! Thank you so much for sharing this video- it's fun to see you fall in love with a particular character/doll and their collection in real time.
I mostly see Beforever Samantha as a different type of doll-but I can’t believe how cute and frilly she is! She’s grown on me even more since unboxing her and cleaning her up. I really like my Beforever Samantha. I am one of the minority who prefers the newer classic mold. The plain Christmas dress was from a Costco Samantha collection. The plaid is a catalog/store purchase. I found the plain one on a Raggedy Ann at an antique store and paid $8 for both the doll and the American Girl dress. Now Sam and Nellie both have a Christmas dress!
Now that I’ve adjusted to the beer classic mold, I can see why people like it. I like that it’s so different from the old one these 2 dolls don’t even look like the same character! Wow that’s a cool way to find a cheap AG dress! If it had been on an AG doll, they would’ve charged 5x the price!

I thought I found the rare #6, and the seller didn't know what they had, but it turned out to be a newer AG store display doll of #16. My 2 #16s look like 2 totally different dolls. I was also surprised to see how much the dolls have shrunk over the years!! 😮 When you had them side by side, PC's head is so much bigger!! I think my 2 Samantha's must be close to the same time period, as they don't look that much different together.

I don't know if you know but Lady Rebecca Fashions on CZcams has a series on AG and the accuracy of the outfits. It's a really great series. Rebecca is a fashion historian and makes her own period costumes (even some AG ones). Great score! You can see the differences in the faces of the old and the new. Love the horse, you'll have fun with it. I have Kaya's horse which I got very cheap at a thrift store.

Nice collection. I like the pick nightgown. I took advantage of the sale sale and got stampede style and Grand connections outs. I was nervous about getting the outfit with the black cowboy hat. The horse s beautiful but I already have 4 AG horses and just don't have room. The girls all look beautiful. Where are the PC Samantha's black shoes from.

@@DisBlaine True the shoes could be off brand. Well the black in the cowboy hat makes me nervous. I had a PC Molly that got stained from dye transfer and I could never remove the marks on her arms totally. I only got them to fade and now I am traumatized. I am even nervous about the black and gold Claudie outfit. I own it but wont use the headband. The Dawali outfit and the Dia De los Muertos outfit all had staining issues in the past so I use them only for short periods of time.

Samantha is an orphan being raised by her wealthy grandmother. The thing I didn't like about the BeForever meet dress or clothes similar to the frilly frock was that it didnt fit the character. Samantha is a tomboy and is always having to have her grandmother's seamstress mend her tights, as she is notorious for getting runs and tears in them. In fact I just started rereading her Meet Samantha book, and the very 1st time we're introduced to her, shes falling out of a tree, in her blue check play dress.
Also, while her classic collection had some frilly outfits, like the tea dress, or her birthday outfit, several of the BeForever outfits just seemed too girly for her. The BeForever rebrand was Matels' attempt at making the historical collection more appealing to children by giving the meet outfits and their collections brighter colors, but by doing this, a lot of collectors feel they weren't as historical accurate as the originals, even though they claimed that there were bright colors in the different time periods.
Oh! Is that her story??? I never would’ve guessed based on her aesthetic-especially her Beforever wardrobe 🤣🤣 But! She sounds like she might be my fave even character wise. I definitely have to read her book… which means I’ll have to track it down first 🤣

@DisBlaine I only reread the 1st chapter, but her and Nellie are on opposite sides of the track...Nellie's the daughter of the (I believe) neighbors servants. Her family is very poor, and at one point Samantha even recues her from a child labor camp. Future Aunt Cornelia and Samantha's Uncle Gard, (sorry for a spoiler) eventually adopt Samantha, Nellie, and Nellie's siblings.
@@DisBlaine Also, I can't remember if I ever said this to you, but I highly recommend getting the 6 book set to get the complete story. I have not compared the BeForever books with the original 6 books, I believe they are still complete, but the ones they currently sell have been abridged. For example, in Maryellen's 1st book, they completely deleted the 4 chapters of her Christmas story.
If any of the BFs grow on me, I’m sure I’ll get them someday… just like all the other dolls that grew on me 🤣 And the part of NY I go to is about a 6 hour drive from the AG store lol. That means it would be an 8.5 hour drive each way for me.
Just for your info (write this down and promptly lose the note) that is Truly Me #112. TM #113 is the dark skinned boy with the top cut afro. I think you have him, too ? Watching this I realize that I don't really like the newer Beforever outfits. I don't think they wore a lot of pink or that pale purple color back in the 1880's thru early 1900's. Not a historian but think black, white, and brown was much more common in clothing. Or muted colors at least.

Be very careful when velcroing the dresses that have lace on them. Because if you snage it then the lace will be ruined

The BeForever rebrand was Matels' attempt at making the historical collection more appealing to children by giving the meet outfits and their collections brighter colors, but by doing this, a lot of collectors feel they weren't as historical accurate as the originals, even though they claimed that there were bright colors in the different time periods.

@DisBlaine I only reread the 1st chapter, but her and Nellie are on opposite sides of the track...Nellie's the daughter of the (I believe) neighbors servants. Her family is very poor, and at one point Samantha even recues her from a child labor camp. Future Aunt Cornelia and Samantha's Uncle Gard, (sorry for a spoiler) eventually adopt Samantha, Nellie, and Nellie's siblings.
@@DisBlaine Also, I can't remember if I ever said this to you, but I highly recommend getting the 6 book set to get the complete story. I have not compared the BeForever books with the original 6 books, I believe they are still complete, but the ones they currently sell have been abridged. For example, in Maryellen's 1st book, they completely deleted the 4 chapters of her Christmas story.

Just for your info (write this down and promptly lose the note) that is Truly Me #112. TM #113 is the dark skinned boy with the top cut afro. I think you have him, too ? Watching this I realize that I don't really like the newer Beforever outfits. I don't think they wore a lot of pink or that pale purple color back in the 1880's thru early 1900's. Not a historian but think black, white, and brown was much more common in clothing. Or muted colors at least.
