I blame kwame Nkrumah for allowing himself to be used by the white to divide and wanted to destroy the Ashanti kingdom. The white if you read history did not want any kingdom to be like the British kingdom, so they did all that to divide them. I am Aduana from kwehu and it saddens me to see how dormaahene is conducting himself. We are all one people [ Akanfo) ]

Dormaahene is disturbed at Bono regional house of chiefs because he is a high Court judge and the newly elected chief at Sampah is an appeal court judge . When they go to regional house of chiefs , Sampah hene can give Dormaa hene a hectic time at their meetings . Dormaahene can not deceive the people again because Sampah hene will counter his motion .

Please teacher l went to a funeral in London last week and man from Denkyira said the golden stool in Kumasi was stolen by okomfu anokye from Denkyira to Kumasi. We told him why don’t you go for it but he said the Ashantis won’t give it back. This is a new trend going around by some Denkyira people, we learnt history in the 60s, 70s and 80s but this is new trend. He even said that if the other tribes don’t come together the Asante hene will rule Ghana just because politicians go to him so l think this is the basis for the hatred of the Asantes. Instead of Ghanaians coming together to develop Ghana 🇬🇭 look at this stupidity going on by some so called chiefs. Please publish the true history of Ashanti because these distortion of history is confusing because some intellectuals in Ghana are distorting history for their own agenda. I blame JJ Rawlings regime for scrapping history in schools because we who benefited from history and geography lessons in those days cannot be misled as this present generation.

Tanoboase willingly joined the Asante confederation like many other Asante colonies. Others actually joined and later withdrew and Asanteman could not do anything bcuz we've become a republic country. But be it as it is those are all past glories. Even the British don't taunt their previous colonies and claim to still own Ghana after we became a republic. So do all the towns that were under the Asante kingdom when we became Republic of Ghana. Most Akans were also under the Bono kingdom in Bono manso. The Asante confederation was formed in the image of the commonwealth states. Ghana as member is not owned by the British but we share common history. My brother/sister what we need is development like we seeing in Dubai by their leader. Chieftaincy in modern day Ghana should be used to spur on development not who is under who and bigger than who.

    Who exactly are the Ashantis?
The majority of people in the Ashanti region are not Ashantis; the archetypal Asante is short.
What we have now is the product of intermarriages with Dagomba, Mossi, and others in an effort to heighten their stature, which truncate their lineage as an Ashanti.
If we are tracing the origins of the several settlements in the Ashanti region, we may find out that most of them migrated from Akwamu, Denkyira, Akyem, Bono etc.
The vast majority of communities in the Ashanti region were not founded by Ashantis.
The Aduana people came from Akwamu. Residents of Asafo, Tepa, Bantama, Adum, Kumawu, Barekese, Agogo, and other towns in Ashanti region are Akwamus, not Ashantis. In the same way, the remnants of Dormaa founded Assumegya. They are not Ashantis; they are Dormaa.
Akomadan was built by one of Bonohene's hunters in the medieval Bono kingdom. His name was Nana Ankoma, and Akomadan translates as 'Ankoma's hunting lodge' (Arhin, 1979). People in Nkawie, Abrepo, and Abuakwa are Bono, not Ashantis. They are Wenchi immigrants who fled after the Ashantis attacked Wenchi suddenly in 1713.
Berekum are a heterogeneous people from Bono, Asokore, Denkyira, and other areas with the majority coming from Bono. A cottage called Abi was already occupied when the Asokore faction came, and the different factions arrived in successive waves.
The Ahafos are not Ashantis; they are entirely from somewhere. Ashanti has obscured their true identity. Duayaw Nkwanta for instance are Bono people who migrated from Bono Manso.
The Yamfo people moved from Kukurantumi in 1722, led by Adu Baa, and are descended from Okyenhene Osagyefo Ofori Panyin l.
The Ntotoroso people migrated from Akyem, led by Nana Kofi Gyedu. Originally, they are all Akyems, not Ashantis.
Kukuom people migrated from Dominase near Ayamfuri in Denkyira, led by Nana Kofi Boa.
Kenyasi No.1 people migrated from Denkyira Mereyem near Dunkwa-on- Offin, led by Nana Apea Mensah Kumta.
Hwidiem people came from Denkyira Ntomu in the Central region led by Nana Kwaku Apia Dwaa and his sister.
Sankore people came from Dwokwaa in Denkyira under the leadership of Nana Ase Kyerekye (Anane Agyei, 2012). These are all Denkyiras, not Ashantis.
The Ashanti kingdom collapsed in 1900 and the Ashanti confederacy which is a reference point for Otumfour was created in 31st January, 1935 and it was purely for administrative purposes by the British. Prior to that, some of the states that joined were independent and had the right to extricate themselves when necessary. That's why people who saw no relevance of that confederacy left.
Therefore it is empirical to note that the original Ashantis are the short people who migrated from Mossi land passed through Bonomanso to established Adanse.

This man is always giving half truths to favour Asante narrative. The truth is that some of these towns were once members of the Asanteman Council. The other truth is that some of them withdrew membership as it was a voluntary organisation not by force. Now the quest by some to have their stools elevated to paramountcy has them run to Asantehene. As it is he also goes to elevate to increase membership of his state. So now a member of the Asanteman council sits in a meeting at the regional house of chiefs in both Bono and Bono East region. There lies the suspicion and confusion

    • @kaykhej5601
      @kaykhej5601 Před 6 měsíci +2

THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY CONFUSION. BEING A MEMBER OF THE ASANTEMAN COUNCIL DOES NOT MAKE YOU A MEMBER OF THE REGIONAL HOUSE OF CHIEFS IF YOU DO NOT FALL WITHIN THE GEOGRAPHICAL BOUNDARIES OF THE REGION IN QUESTION. FOR EXAMPLE, PARAMOUNT CHIEFS IN AHAFO ARE ALL MEMBERS OF THE ASANTEMAN COUNCIL. HOWEVER, NONE OF THOSE CHIEFS ARE MEMBERS OF THE ASHANTI REGIONAL CHIEFS. SIMILARLY, NO BONO CHIEF OR BONO EAST CHIEF CAN BE A MEMBER OF THE RESPECTIVE HOUSES OF CHIEFS AT THE SAME TIME. THIS IMPLIES THAT, ASANTEMAN COUNCIL CUTS ACROSS REGIONAL BOUNDARIES BUT HOUSE OF CHIEFS IS RESTRICTED TO THE POLITICALLY DEMARCATED REGIONAL BOUNDARIES. I HOPE THIS SETTLES ANY MISINFORMATION.

Can you expose what is intellectually dishonest in the statements i have made? Thereafter we can have a conversation. Is it true that Asanteman is not just Ashanti region? Is it also true that a paramount chief outside Ashanti region could be part of Asanteman?

    • @py20
      @py20 Před 6 měsíci +1

Don't be confused - being part of an administrative region doesn't change your traditional alliance and allegiance, especially if you choose to maintain that. The people who reside in the Ahafo region were/are part of the Brong Ahafo regional house of chiefs, yet not one considers himself anything other than Asante because that's what they are - culturally, linguistically, historically etc. I'll condemn any attempt by the Asantehene to FORCE anyone to be a part of Asanteman, but if people choose, on their own accord, to join or remain a part of Asanteman, what's the problem? Why can't their free choice be respected by Dormaahene or others?

Palace historian! His facts are thin. No one should believe him. I am direct descendant of Adu Boafo … I know my history. Let’s stop this nonsense about trying to project Asante history to be more than what it’s. Let’s clean Kumasi and make it better.

Would Kumasi people agree that they are Bono people? Bono people are not Asantefuo. This teacher talk to make it look as if Asantes created the Bonos. Stop your propaganda bias teacher. If you want to unite with the Bonos, then let's the Asantes take the name of Bonos but to say the Bonos agree to be Ashantes is your illusion.

Massa stop writing plenty....there was nothing like a tribe called Asante... they were all individual clans living on the land..Aduana, oyoko, asona and the rest. Each has a trace of migration .now they came together because of war and called themselves ASA(war) nti...there is no particular group called Asante as you claim.

Stop deceiving urself. So bono too are frm where if u know where Ashanti’s frm. Ashanti Kingdom is more popular than ur country if u don’t know. Otumfuo is more popular n well respected in the world more than ur president. Ur village chiefs can never compare themselves to the only King in the world who sit on Golden Stool

So what are u trying to say with this long story. If u have anything to say then tell Dormaahene that he's not from Bono , he's from Akwamu therefore he shd stay away from matters concerning Bono and stop disturbing our peace of mind . Also there also no true Bono people now in Bono Regions , Techimans are the true Bono people. The fact that people speak Bono language does not make them Bonos. Ghanaians speak English so we are from England?
