I am disabled and live alone in a six year old building and I get both disabled discount and CARE. I’ve never used the heater or stove and in summer I use a room fan. My bills have been averaging around 80$ and I called SDGE and asked why my bill was so high when I did everything I can to keep it down and this month my bill was 35$. I have a smart meter and I asked them to check if it had been hacked? The SDGE rep was very rude, but my bill came down to where I thought it should be even with all of the service and taxes increases, please local and state government DO something about this!
And yet I bet majority of of us struggling with the bill don’t humor solar PPA’s, they just say “not interested” and stick with ever-increasing rates under a monopoly
I'm sure KPBS loves SDG&E's new proposed socialist billing model (being socialist supporters themselves) where you pay based on income. Can anyone in california see past their face, will just contribute to more population decline. ECON 101 lesson, less people, less income, less taxes, less people, rinse repeat until bankruptcy.

Why don’t you stop being uneducated on the issue and go get educated on it? Have you seen what happened to the price of Natural gas over the last year? Did you know that your electric company uses mostly Natural Gas to produce electricity? Let me tell you that NG prices in 2022 more then doubled in price
@@BigRed2 it's my experience that the only people that use the term 'uneducated' are themselves uneducated - i'm an accountant with a masters's degree that audits government agencies - i comment under my real name because i'm not a brainwashed subservient - state your full name and your education - then let's see some proof that you monitor and control your government, which is your J.O.B. in the usa - there's no place for subservients - san diego already had the highest utility rates in the nation - because of bond debt, price gouging, and a campaign against solar - i have solar on my house, so i have no utility bills - if we didn't have corrupt politicians everyone would have solar - do you have solar ?
@@libiure I’m 38 and retired and have invested in oil and gas equities and read weekly the EIA and API reports on Fuel, Oil and Natural gas usage. Every county in CA has rates going up because of the high NG prices and because of the wild fires, utility companies to fireproof their equipment must raise money and issue bonds to fund the upgrades, all rate increases are and must be approved by a state agency, i would think you knew all this since you claim to be so educated. You can have many diplomas and certificates but that does not make you a subject matter expert on everything. Rates will only continue to go up with the state banning the sell of all gasoline vehicles in 2035 as we don’t have the capacity to charge even 10% of vehicles on the road now and our eclectic production has not increased much in the last 10 years. We hate over 20 million vehicles on the road and 11 million homes, the average EV holds enough electric charge to power a home for a day, now imagine if at any moment we had 5 million vehicles plugged into the grid charging what is going to happen ….yup blackouts will become a regular thing

I’ve noticed lately the flame on the range has turned from blue to orange, indicating it isn’t combusting efficiently. Takes longer to bring something up to boil.

They are trying to ban gas stove tops. Charging outrageous prices for natural gas is a way to get people to want to switch to electric stove tops
