mtbultmann prom is in the last year of high school(12th grade) at the end of the year so most would be 18 with some being 17. However there is sometimes also a junior prom for the juniors (11th grade) and besides that seniors are allowed to invite a date to prom regardless of what grade they are in (obviously not a child or someone much older who's not in school) so there can also be people a couple years younger than 17/18
Tho with all that being said, all my schools had a "prom" in the last year of attending before moving on up. So we had 5th grade prom for elementary and 8th grade prom for middle school. They were called prom too but that doesn't really count as "real" prom lol just like a copycat version or something, I'd say
