I look at this part so literally and think of all the children in foster or orphan homes, and how God loves them so much that He died for them. And he seeks for man to do something for them because they are precious to Him, but man is often selfish and does not want to change their "perfect" lives by fostering or adopting. And I just know how much this angers and disappoints God because He cares for them so. I pray that more hearts will be open to loving these children, because God gave His life to love them, and so should we.

I went to hillsong in LA for the first time and when this song played and seeing everyone with there hands up singing together made me cry in joy knowing god reaching out to me. So I committed to joining the hillsong family

I’m intimidated by the older people in the worship team. I’m the leader and it’s hard. But everytime I sing and play my guitar, I don’t feel alone, I feel God using my hands and voice to shout his name and songs. I’m so thankful for everything. Please everyone who reads this. I find myself playing this song over and over...letting in really sink in. We are the worship and the main event is God. He will not suffer any idols. He is our God! Thankful Lord for blessing this team with such creativity - it's one of the few songs where I feel that I am somehow touching the garment of my Lord and tears flow freely. All glory to our God.

Hannah there are actually quite a few theological mistakes and ambiguities with this song.
Eg. "Every precious one / A child You died to save" - Jesus died to save his people, not a potential people or an unknown group.
"A hundred billion creatures catch Your breath / Evolving in pursuit of what You said" - What does that mean? Are the whole of creation pursuing what God has said and obeying him? Or is this something to do with creation evolving in the past or now? Who knows?
"You’re the One who never leaves the one behind" - is this universalism? I assume no because hillsong church don't teach that. But what does it mean?
I think there can be value in making poetic songs like this. I would just say that this shouldn't be played in churches because some of the theological meaning is either ambiguous (and therefore means whatever one wants it to mean) or just inaccurate. I personally think it's fine for private listening though.

helen vlachos the thing is, worship music is powerful. Worship leaders can influence the theological beliefs of the people they play music for. I only gave a few of the mistakes. There are more.
At the end of the day, I think it's important for songs played in church to have clear meaning. Songs not meant for corporate worship in church can be like this.
Worship leaders can only be real or false. Just like the true or false prophets Jesus spoke about. They cannot influence if they dont inspire. This is the work of a genuine leader. After all, this team of believers stands and grows (develops) only on their committed belief in Jesus and God. They are not singers. They dont sing songs.
Their life and words and works- all- speak for their authenticity. BTW I believe that inspiration is more like imagination...a piece of literary work speaks thru connotations.. Jesus spoke thru parables.Hillsong is the most genuine in this simply because they are all IN HIS SPIRIT. Jesus says, SOME PEOPLE WILL UNDERSTAND; SOME WILL NOT. Its all there SamOwenl. Its all there. No need to judge or single out mstakes in Hillsong after all. Theres only 1 judge who will do thaat. So we can rest easy, and simply forge our personal path into a challenging future.

The church I recently joined had a worship night last Friday and the band did this song, and did it so well. I'm a single guy suffering from the feeling of being alone and this song had me broken down, my tears ended up burning my eyes (probably sweat or oil from a 10 hour work shift) but it didn't stop me from showing my love to this God who is the single most amazing artist any person can know. I first heard this song sometime in January this year at a point in my life where I didn't know where I stood with my relationship with God but I heard this song and fell all over in love with HIM. I listen to this song everyday and still get goosebumps and tear up. I fall in love with God every day. There's one line that gets me every time and it's " You're the one who never leaves the one behind" that just wraps it all up, everything that CHRIST suffered for, everything from creation till now, everything God has done it's all for us, everything is for the one individual. What MAGNITUDE OF LOVE, makes you wonder how anyone can doubt God's existence. But we are called to show Him to the world, and you guys are doing an amazing job at that. In May of 2018 I heard this song on the radio on our way home from the hospital. My wife and a I had just been told we had a miscarriage. Listening to this song took away all of the questions and sorrow that a I had for this horrible experience. Singing of all of creation worshipping in any situation, So Will I, brought such relief to my wife and I in such a time of hurting. Thank you for this proclamation of grace and wonder.

What an amazing song. Tears me up every time. I like to think of how Jesus was on the cross. People condemned him, mocked him, cursed him, hated him, and all he could say was, father forgive them they know not what they do. He was and is loving all who hate. How could a person be on a cross wrongfully judged, and look down on those people and have their heart fully filled with love for those people. So I try everyday to love just a little of how Jesus does. No human can possibly do it. Well maybe.
