It's extra funny because this sketch came from before the moment the show used the full instrumental song in the penultimate episode when things got realer than real.

This reminded me of how every music video (back when they had those on MTV) in the early/mid 90's going for an 'edgy' presentation had those quick shots with a camera flash effect.
Watching "UNABOMBER: In His Own Words" on Netflix right now and this sketch is all I can think of during the opening music. Look it up, its almost a parody of this sketch.
It’s funny too that in one episode of True Blood, the song that plays at the credits of episode 11 season 3 is that song fresh blood which is the Jinx theme song
I love how you guys point the little subtleties of the general SCHMUCKERY of Hollywood, trendies, and the "general" uninformed sheeple . You guys are the best comedy going right now. You guys are awake and aware. I am too that's why it's so hilarious when you truly get where you guys are coming from. Every since I seen "good art bad wall" or "punslingers" I started noticing these things and it CRACKED ME UP!! Just like this one. Hollywood just keeps packaging the same hot garbage and the SCHMUCK SHEEPLE just consume it. OOOYYY VEEEEY!!!! You guys are truly great together at what you do. Thanks for all the laughs and all the laughs I gave others by sharing the skits with others. I can't get these damn theme songs out of my head , it's been 3 days now.
I have actually had several songs on four of the shows mentioned (though not title sequences) and I do confess that I have come across a formula. They don't mention it in the skit...and I ain't telling what it is because I don't need the competition.
I love that they were able to find a way to define and make fun of this stuff haha. These songs always feel so corny too. Whatever this genre of music is sucks, its like pop folk or some shit
I hate tv series, so this was extra funny to me. I love how they get the stupid stuff in the world and then make fun of it. Everyone is always like " oh you gotta watch this show" blah blah blah. It's all the same anitodal crap. And the idiots eat it up.
"I might be a cop but I'm baaaaadd." lmao
"I can't wait to watch the rest of that show to see what falls apart" - Oh man, too good.
Philbert, season 1
One of their best sketches ever.
You've never heard of us, but you've definitely heard us
Actually made me realize all shows has the same theme and video filter, lol
Half of Nat Geo / Discovery docudramas as well
@@mipmipmipmipmip I wish there was a filter. that's some hard ass color grading.
missing you already Portlandia :,(
Probably my favorite show of all time.
Rewatching Breaking Bad with my boyfriend and we laugh every time the title song comes on 😂
It's extra funny because this sketch came from before the moment the show used the full instrumental song in the penultimate episode when things got realer than real.
We invented this music.
I really like that "do bad things with you song," but gotta admit they have a point.
“She took her dress off twice.”
The guitar part you hear at 1:12 is one of the preloaded samples in GarageBand
they should actually compile this album lol
“Bad Things” by Jace Everett
“Long Hard Times to Come (From "Justified") [feat. T.O.N.E-Z]” by Gangstagrass

“Rank and File” by Kingdom 2
“The Water Lets You In (From "Bloodline") [Extended]” by Book of Fears
“Better Call Saul Main Title Theme (Extended)” by Little Barrie
Cant wait for the new season of Snakeskin Dentures. That was a cliff hanger i tell you what!

This is all incorrect.
These theme songs were all written and performed by BWOW.
@@DigitalPistol55 ...and "Philbert" deserves an honorable mention ;)
This reminded me of how every music video (back when they had those on MTV) in the early/mid 90's going for an 'edgy' presentation had those quick shots with a camera flash effect.
And a parkour jumper doing a semi-summersault over the camera and fisheye lenses. Samples from EMF - You're unbelievable and Moby - Bodyrock.
Watching "UNABOMBER: In His Own Words" on Netflix right now and this sketch is all I can think of during the opening music. Look it up, its almost a parody of this sketch.
The narcos theme song, although in Spanish, totally falls into this category. Lol
2:52 the crooked cop who loved to drink 🤣🤣🤣🤣 That being said I love season 1 of True Detective
Fred. Carrie. We need a return. PLEASE!!
Badly
One if the best bits of the show
One of my all-time favorite sketches.
I just sent this to Nick Cave. Give him some ideas to work with.
Greenmanblue Yeah he practically invented this genre.
@@thebarbaryghostsf And Tom Waits
This is SO good.
they are the best
I'm a fool for actually trying to buy it and listen to the album
This is one of the best skits in comedy tv
I would like this CD to really exist! I mean I can probably make a playlist, but its just not the same.
Who else is excited for the new season of Alabama Dirty Grit? I know I am!
I hear these guys did the new red dead redemption soundtrack

She looks pretty hot like that.
Katya, your steel guitar playing gets me in the gut.....
It’s funny too that in one episode of True Blood, the song that plays at the credits of episode 11 season 3 is that song fresh blood which is the Jinx theme song
This made me laugh SO... DAMN much, as well as taught me something. Oh and Left 4 Dead sounds like this too.
cough cough The Punisher
I kind of want to buy the album!
All I could think of when I heard the punisher's theme lol
Ry Cooder should get a piece of this.
Genius.
Gothic Americana

The Crooked Cop Who Loved to Drink
"Bwwwwoooooowwww bwooowwwww bwwwoowwwww" - Slide Guitar
Homework done.
Alabama Dirty Grit
Beard bros homework.
I always laugh when it dumps to the opening sequence with the same music with the altered scenes.
I came back to this video after watching The Last of Us' intro.
We said "Absolutely"
Basically every episode of peaky blinders.
"she took her dress off twice"
The Punisher!
"I want to watch that show to see what falls apart"
This is too funny
Netflix's Punisher...
Dirty Mountain. Lol!
Hilarious and too true! All of these shows openers, themes and openings are cut and paste.

But where can I buy this CD?
Better than Put a Bird on It! 😎👍🏼
If they put a bird on the song, whoa
Lmao
Despite being cliche, that Portlandia title sequence should be the intro for the show. Dooope.
mwmast3r what was the song during that title sequence
LuchaKing Rank and File - Kingdom 2
Is that Petey Green's Washington chair?
Did they do the Firefly theme?
🤯
2:17 song?
Snakeskin dentures!!😂😂😂😂
I wonder if that chair is a reference to Huey Newton from the Black Panthers?
Beard Bros homework complete.
2:14-2:37. Whats the song?
LuchaKing Rank and File by Gooding
The Wire got there first, we can blame Tom Waits. And maybe firefly.
I love that they were able to find a way to define and make fun of this stuff haha. These songs always feel so corny too. Whatever this genre of music is sucks, its like pop folk or some shit
Where’s Firefly?
She took her dress off... twice.
Westworld didn't follow this.
