Jeremy would have roasted anyone else for that 350z (because that’s his norm). He genuinely loves Kaleb and was just happy to talk him up and let him enjoy his dream car.
I'm going to make a compilation of him saying it's a PoS then contradicting himself talking to the young and dumb kid known as Kaleb (only uneducated children who don't understand automotive engineering would buy a nissan 350)

I think he actually likes it, it's just that he didn't like the US version of the 350z on TG and it was probably part of the script in the roadster challenge to hate on each others cars. When he drove the 350z convertible that Hammond had he liked how sporty and aggressive it was.
When he said "So this was your styling then.." l thought Oh here we go
One of my favorite moments from the show. Jeremy has driven everything, he can pick out flaws in any car. He was nothing but complentary and encouraging here. It really was a genuine nice moment where one chap is happy for another chap for obtaining to them their dream car.

@@test-tl8dt He didn't, but deep down he's a good guy. He's all about riffing on cars and finding analogies for internet likes, but someone he knows buys a car and he's nothing but complementary.
I mean it makes sense - there's a difference between reviewing a car, and talking to somebody who's probably saved up for quite a bit to get their dream car.
Sure, that car might not be incredible compared to some of the others Jeremy has driven, but I think he's at LEAST self aware enough to recognize that it's a VERY nice car for working-middle class folks.
It's great to see. So many men of his generation love to rip into young guys buying their dream cars. He was very kind here.

I remember JC's review of that car. He didn't like it at all.
Said it looked a bit of a mess. The engine was it's weakest point, noise is just a noise - a drone that makes you go mad. It doesn't feel fast. The ride was exhaustingly hard, interior was plasticky.

Yes and all subsequent mentions that followed in shows and writing, he disliked it quite a lot.
I feel like there's a difference between reviewing a car for a car show, and giving an opinion on it in conversation with a person who's never had anything remotely similar. Context matters I think
Top gear/ grand tour is an entertainment show. No one should take their word on cars seriously.

Imagine getting to show your first car to Jeremy Clarkson. And him not hating it. Pretty cool.
I remember when the 350Z came out Jeremy absolutely roasted the thing, said the noise was exhaustingly bad (pun intended), the handling was like a muscle car, the engine didn't pull hard enough, the interior was badly put together and he gave it a C-.
I'm sure Kaleb hadn't seen his review and bought his dream car off of Tiff's review on 5th Gear instead, as stated clearly on the number plate of his🤣
The 370z came out and I think he changed his mind haha. If I remember correctly he despised that thing.
TBH if I had to buy a car, even i'd pick Tiff's opinion over Clarkson's any day

Honestly it's so weird how good this show was. When I saw it advertised I thought "oh Jeremy Clarkson trying to run a farm, that might be alright". I've watched it 4 times. I almost never watch a show twice let alone 4 times!
It was genuine and that was good
We’ve all had the moment when you’ve shown the first car that meant the world to you to someone and whilst you think no one else’s opinion matters... at some point you show the person who’s response ...well you hold your breath to hear what they think. These two are close and being able to show it off to CLARKSON and receive such a proud father like response is awesome..
Love these two it’s like a father son relationship.. bringing your dream motor home to the old man who happens to have driven every super car the world has developed lol 😂

Kaleb, and Jeremy should have there own permanent show together. They're chemistry on camara is second to none.
Disagree. Jeremy's chemistry on camera with May and Hammond is second to none. His relationship with Kaleb does make for _excellent_ TV, but it is and will always be second to that with his Top Gear/Grand Tour co-hosts, nothing can top that.

I’ve been watching Jeremy since the early 90s on top gear. When GT as we knew it ended, I was genuinely sad. So when I heard he was going to do a show about his farm, I was disappointed. I wanted more of Top Gear/GT content. But I’m quite open to admitting I was wrong. This show is brilliant.

I live 5 miles away and saw Caleb every week before the series aired, as a modified 350z owner you get 2 thumbs up 👍

This is one of my favourites moments from the series. I was half expecting Jeremy to absolutely rag on Kaleb's choice of car like he does with Hammond and May but it was so wholesome to see him genuinely happy for the guy. People forget that TV personalities like Clarkson can display a certain persona such as that on TG. You can tell he has a loving father/son type relationship with Kaleb so he was happy to see him enjoying his dream car, as any car guy would.
This is the most wholesome segment of the show
I will be happy to know how long Jeremy has know Kaleb. The connection between them is just amazing

This series was bloody great.
Kaleb and Jeremy are horribly alike just generations apart, The London Wasabi episode was really quite funny and yes, I was horrified at the blatant extortion that hit motorists from every angle just to drive into London.
On the bright side? Kaleb amazingly did not get stabbed....... Small consolation considering his Bum was probably quite sore from the Eco Tax reaming :-)
I genuinely thought my hatred of London was irrational (I do live in the UK) and brought on by previous experiences of nearly getting crashed into... then I found this clip today and yeah I'm completely justified

Kaleb has very good taste, you see so many z cars overdone.
Looks sharp, and I love the very first iteration of that model Z car. So simple.
I know how Kaleb feels about Mordor (London) I'm from the same area and haven't been to London in nearly a Decade, and then it was only to get a New Passport. Got off the coach at Victoria, Walked round the corner to the passport office. Did all thee requirements, collected, walked outside and got straight back on the next coach. God it's too much stress!
Guess that's why they all move out to the Cotswolds in the end

Vq forever. Them engines and transmissions are damn near bulletproof and easy to fix and work on. Only thing I hate is change valve cover gasket’s 😂😂

Yes the S2000 is better, but rarer.
Where i live in Canada, 350Z is far more rare than an S2000. Probably 5:1 ratio for how many I see (5x more 350Z)
