This particular work, played from a LP record, brings back memories like no other that played that night. Beautifully played here. Thank you from an 81 year old softie. BTW, the name of the play was Prelude. That's was the reason for Chopin's music.

    2. It's by Chopin.
    3. It's my favorite in terms of emotion and expression of it. The final chords just give a feeling of inevitable end, but of the beautiful kind.
    4. It's played by the best pianist on CZcams, Rosseau. Have your opinion, but it's crystal clear that this man/woman has skill and well-deserved 1.000.000 subs, and I'm one of those, and I AM PROUD.

As someone who's learning this piece, any of you who want to learn it I can tell you this: it takes time and patience. I'd consider myself a decent piano player, I started playing when I was 6 years old and I'm now 28. However, I wasn't as consistent with practice growing up as I should have been and there was a period of years where I hardly played since I only had access to an electric keyboard. Now I have an Accoustic piano and it's great to try to learn this piece. If you are a serious player, the left hand part is arguably the hardest to learn in the beginning. If you practice frequently and consistently, you will get it down and unknowing memorize the music which is a HUGE help so you can focus on your hands instead of the music. At least for me, that was always a big advantage to memorizing music. Don't give up! If you need to walk away from it for a week or so, sometimes that actually helps. But just keep practicing.

I know this is very old but thanks for the encouragement!
It just happens I'm in the same boat as you. I studied the piano since I was 6 years old but...a lot of things happened and the last years I leaved it in the side, I´m 23 right now. This year I have more time in my hands so I wanted to come back and I was practicing for a while. Then I stumbled into this masterpiece, I always liked this song but for some reason I never learned it.
So...it's really hard, and my long hiatus don't really help, but I will keep going until I get this right. Funny thing, I came to watch this video because I wanted to hear how it sounds, so yeah, memorizing helps a lot...

I remember when I was in daycare and when they would have us take naps they would play this song. I always never slept during that time because I could only fall asleep to like loud ass songs or thunder at the time, but just laying there and listening to this song was just really calming and peaceful.

this song holds such a special place in my heart. i went through a lot in my early years of life, causing me to become suicidal in middle school along with many other disorders. i also had just started learning piano. one night i was about to end everything, but this song started to play on spotify over my laptop and i just broke down. for the rest of the days i struggled, this song got me through everything i went through. i promised myself that one day, i will learn this on the piano. fast forward to now, i’m a sophomore in high school and i had joined band a little over a year ago. life is going great and it’s the first time ive ever been proud of myself and just genuinely happy. i’m told that for our marching band show, im going to have a solo of this piece to end the show.
it’s just so cool to think the things that i’ve been through with this song and how much i’ve grown with it. and now, to cope with things, i get to play it rather than listen. :)

@@suriiana1190 ok i am not here to convince people what is better and what isnt i just enlighten them on what i know if you would ask me why nocturne in d flat major is better then i could tell you why because passively listening to things is not a good habit if you are a musician because pieces like this and lets say fur elise i dont know but just understanding what is being presented by active listening understanding the rich harmonies, intricate melodic lines, and trying to convey the way chopin would play on the piano. i do think his nocturne op 9 no 2 is very good but many other chopin composed are sublime and some even more which i hold dearest to me.

This fits the vibe of someone sitting at a dimly lit bar, a man sits casually sipping at his beverage. Death physically emerges from a nearby door and steps out. He lays his skeletal, yet animate hand on the man's shoulder. He quietly utters in a deep yet smooth voice, "it's time to go now." the man then takes a picture of his family out of his pocket and glances one more time at it, a single tear falls onto the photograph and the man puts the photo back in his pocket. The duo exits the bar in a flare of smoke, never to be seen again.

    This song torments me.
It brings back memories that i want forget it.
My father drank every night in the living room of our big home.
I remember how he made this music play in they background, while he drank glass after glass.
I was in my room, the music reached there, then when the song seemed to end, i heard my father's steps going up the stairs until he reached in my room. He came in and closed the door to hit me.
Everything from when i was 14 years old, until i was 17 years old. Three whole years living that hell.
