Love how u try to save everybody😻sadly they aren't immortal lol.Love ur profile pic hehehe awwww....Meow
"The Cursed Tribe" quest. If you kill the giant yourself, the orc chieftain attacks you. If you calm him at that point, he still follows you. I once brought him all the way back to the stronghold, talked to the other orcs about his alleged death, and listened as Malacath named the new chieftain. Then I finally allowed the calm spell to end, and watched as the orcs all attacked their former chieftain. My horse got the final blow.
This is the single best thing I’ve read all day. 🤣
I did the same thing on my third run of that quest, because I was curious on how "flexible" the decisions were. Only in my case, I had no horse and he ended up besting almost all the remaining orcs except the wise woman, so I had to finish him myself.
A friend of mine had a different idea and made sure to keep healing the orc chieftain until the orc defeated the giant himself. After that the orc turned on him with his usual speech of how the player must die because no one is allowed to find out you killed the giant. It was pretty funny.
Honestly that kinda sucks, illusion magic seems to really be an after-thought
@@samsibbens8164 I think all magic was an afterthought. Seeing as being a mage is near impossible mid to late game do to it not scaling.
*removes headman*
Roggvir: _Fine, I'll do it myself._
"Oh for the love of Talos, shut up and let's get this over with." *Rips his own head off*
As you wish@@jessiehogue.
He knows his death is destined to happen, and he doesn't want anyone to deprive him of his chance to go to Sovngarde.
What if you get the stormcloaks to victory before entering solitude, does roggvir still die?
@@TheCrunchbite I have no idea if that's possible. If it is... someone ought to try that.
5:45 so... dragonborn can't talk, because his hands are tied? He is italian!!! 😳😳😳
Good. He's following _omerta_ .
I just now thought of how funny having a human speak common in DnD, using his gesticulation.
FUS RO DAH 🤌🤌
In the 2nd one they actually counted for it... After the emperor dies, the guy doesn't say the emperor's name, only says emperor.
Yeah, and still says its male.
@@Diablo_Himself As far as I know it's male supremacy there and that's why it's emperor, but might be different idk
@@Diablo_Himself oh no! The writers at Bethesda must hate women. Maybe more crying will help? 😢😢😢😢
@@Shdhdbehjbit defensive there sport. Kinda telling. They didn’t say anything remotely like that. Are you so sexist you think anyone acknowledging a gender must also be sexist or just trying to be edgy as if anyone thinks that’s cool? Either way, regardless of your intent you’re broadcasting some pretty shitty vibes.
@@Skullhawk13 Hey sport, my intent doesn’t matter. I thought we weren’t supposed to acknowledge gender, isn’t it sexist to point out that a man should be doing something instead a woman and vice versa?
Arval was like "I normally don't get this far.."
Funny thing with Roggvir is in my modded playthrough, it glitched out the execution so he never got executed. Everytime I visit solitude, he is just there, sharpening a sword on the executioners grindstone
I think you got the alternate timeline version
@@kazzikubena1860 he got community service, he's the headsman now
Roggvir:I’ve killed many headsman with this baby.
You: okay…..?
@@kazzikubena1860 There is actually a mod that literally lets you save roggvir. It prevents his execution from happening upon entering Solitude, so you can break him out of jail.
@@adoramay9410 that honestly should've been the original way it went
"On this day, I go to Sovngarde."
_head falls off_
If the real manly man says he'll do something, he'll do it. Or die trying.
He must know/knew the clintons.
How do u get italics on CZcams _does this work?_
Oh so it does
Sht was so anticlimactic, I couldn't help laughing 😂
I wouldn't say that the devs didn't think about the possibility of you killing the emperor. That's why they included the 2 separate voicelines.
They 100% thought about it. If they didn’t they wouldn’t have made that VL or allow you to do the DB questline before the civil war one.
Seemed more like they just cut the line short, but yeah it was realized.
Now I just want a long play where you force Arvel through the dungeon, then all the way to Whiterun, have him deliver the Dragonstone, and become the Dragonborn, all using console commands. Just a full mod where Arvel is the Dragonborn, complaining the whole time, and you're his companion.
And any time you try to talk to him, he still just says "You'll never get the claw!"
@@kendankspresley5480 until you get to alduin and he just says here you go and tries to run out of sovngarde🤣
You can save Arvel without using the console and without casting calm on him and he will still run towards the end. You need to use turn or repel undead on all the draugr, then get ahead of him, disable the trap by dropping something on the trigger, pull the chain to stop the swinging blades, get the draugr down that hallway and generally stay ahead of him after that, he will survive and keep running as long as you don’t interact with him directly and keep the draugr off of him. Did it on the PS4, No console or cheating required.
Where does he stop running?
Alternatively, you can cast paralysis on him and deal with the draugrs and traps before he can move again (or, you know, recast the spell)
how will you get the claw from him?
On my modded playthrough he will stop in the first burial room and wait. But one of the random mods I use turned him into a boss and he has superspeed, and random maneuvers, that make him a challenge to kill.
@@robr135 Give me that mod collection. I really want it and need it. ANIME BATTLE MOMENT
Haven't had the bandit solve the puzzle before, but it occasionally happened that he survived the arrows and tries again
"Can't talk because hands are tied" stretches my suspension of disbelief...
“I mean, I’d really love to talk to you about the current state of affairs, or what we at Skythesda expect you to do with your new lease on life, but my hands are tied, here.” Ba-dum-tsss.
He's Italian
Maybe the dragonborn is mute and uses sign language to communicate
@@MageoftheTowerexcept he cant be because shouts exist
ulfric had a moth gag for his shouts. plausible but most likely an oversight.
So Lokir didn't die to arrows but to a heart attack he had right before...
he's not very good at living lol
The Imperial Oath change is pretty much common knowledge, and there were a couple of other things I already knew, but some very interesting new things as well. Not bad.
the first time i saw this i tried to save rogvir. but failed everytime. that's when i realized i wasn't suppose to.
I did the same thing and was, and still am, frustrated there isn't even an option to save him
@@jungtothehuimang It's Bethesda. Best you can get is the illusion of choice.
@@DrZaius3141 I hate how all the pieces are there for a good choice based game, they just simply didn't do it. A few dialogue options that give you the choice to argue or bargain or persuade people is all it would take really, but nope. We get a cool ass open world with really hollow choices that aren't actually choices. it's a bummer.
@@jungtothehuimang Because they don't understand that role-playing games are about the people. If you care about the people, you choices matter. I cried when my Commander Shepard (in a renegade playthrough) "had to" kill Mordin Solus. Meanwhile virtually no Bethesda NPC ever is truly remarkable.
"Rpg"
Roggvir is like a pirate king Roger - he knew he was doomed, so he let himself down to say "Sovngard is real!" 😂
Surprised you didn't make Arvel romanceable and live the rest of your days with him running around your house in Rorikstead
"Too slow!"
4:25
I like how he waited a second as if he knew that wasn't supposed to happen
The last thing reminds me the mission about the gray prince, in Oblivion. I helped the orc, and met the guy who got mad because of being isolated and in the dark. Instead of killing him, I led him to the exterior and freedom.
Did Lord Lovidicus continue attacking you?
@@safsren Yes, but I ran and spared him.
It's actually impressive this game even runs half the time
legendary barely works but se runs smoother than unopened butter
That timing when you resurrect Lokir and you hear someone shout "What does it take to kill this monster?"
"Tell them he didn't do it!"
"Well then I'd by lying."
In my modded playthrough the Bleak falls bandit never even gets there lol. He either gets taken out by a invisible Hunger(demon) placed there, random spawned draugr from Genesis appearing beside him, or a random ambush of undead from the mod Hand Placed Enemies. Poor guy never has a chance.
I mean, the devs didnt think we would play this game for 10 years
And counting.
Nah, they did. I still play Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion to this day. Daggerfall is a really good one to have on the side doing crypt runs for loot while watching CZcams.
don't have much choice when they release a million new versions but not TES VI
This entire thing could have been a minute video of Roggvir having a heartattack after being saved as it is the only part where something unexpected happens, and the rest of this video are just clips of the devs clearly having thought of it with the emperor oath thing, I'm not sure on what exactly you expected to happen with the bandit or Arvel, as them venturing deeper and then dying to something else is perfectly expected? And with Lokir you are not supposed to be able to do anything as you are bound and anything involving console usage jank is not really the devs fault.
I mean, the title of the video is Things the Developers DIDNT THINK ANYONE WOULD TRY
So undeveloped stuff is literally the point of the video. I don't think they were expecting anything special to happen.
@@Helxas Undeveloped stuff? Like there being specific voice lines for if the Emperor is dead? Yeh, undeveloped.
@@candlestorms No, that part is clearly developed and the studio obviously expected it to happen, and its inclusion in this video is just erroneous, lol.
Anyway, all these recent videos with the same "THE DEVELOPERS DIDNT THINK THIS WOULD HAPPEN" title is just a rash to increase brainless engagement. And 90% of it is incorrect, poorly thought out, or ill considered, just like 90% of all similar content that comes out.
Arvel reminds me of the pterodactyl man from Scooby Doo 2 Monsters Unleashed
"So long, suckers!
Aah! Help me, suckers!"
This video was like 6 mins longer than it needed to be and you know it
For me, Roggvir ran out the front gate. I escorted him and fought the guards. I then lost track of him
bullshit. he is scripted to die, no matter what happens. within a certain time, he dies, regardless of what happens. if you somehow kill every guard and NPC in Solitude, and he is allowed to live and avoids the headsmans block animation, he will just walk a bit, then die. it is scripted so that his Amulet of Talos can be retrieved, as the side quest to retrieve it for his sister is tied to him actually dying.
@@zerrierslizer1 which part is bullshit? I never said he didn’t die, I said I lost him. Relax, dude. Hug your dog. Go hangout with people at a party. Get the courage to talk to that girl you like. Touch grass
@@El_Santo_De_Cerote everything you said was bullshit. if you stop Roggvir from getting executed, everyone turns hostile to him and either kills him, or he dies a few seconds later due to the Execution script running it's course. so yeah, everything you said was bullshit. and then trying to go on and tell me to touch grass on top of that is petty af.
My brother spent so long trying to save Roggvir. When he finally pulled it off, he got so disappointed when nothing happened as seen.
The lore-accurate Dragonborn guided Arvel out of the barrow and scared him to Farengar.
Whatever you use for mods (lighting and texture) is so good! It just embellishes the vanilla style without taking away from it
Damn never thought anyone would try to save that swift guy
When the edits and mouse movements/ character’s view does all the talking. Love this.
With Lokir I actually had a few new games where the archers missed Lokir and he got away. I also had a glitch once where I spawned outside of the opening wagon. Hands still tied so I couldn't do anything.
If you’re talking about the bandit in the bleak falls barrow, he can’t solve it, because he cannot physically go up and turn the things
7:00 I like the implication that the only reason no one else left was because they just didn't feel like it
Yea I can’t possibly understand how they thought we would never try to save rogvir, pissed me off when I saw him die anyways the first time 😂
Stormcloak fans want to save Roggvir. I used soul trap on him before the axe came down, just so he wouldn't get to go to Sovngarde.
It’s cool that the Imperial oath changes if you’ve already murdered the Emperor.
*Kills archers for Lokirs escape* Lokir: Takes off running while tripping over a rock and smacking his head off the ground. 💀
Funnily enough I tried to save Rogvir and Arvel in my first run through, I had ALOT of saves when it came to saving Rogvir until I eventually realized I wasn't suppose to. Arvel just died to the trap.
Those below being daedra?Wait, how many Daedric Princes do I work for again?😆Something I have done nobody seems to do is tell Brynjolf no or just ignore him.He hung around in the Bee and barb.
that one is pretty common, tbf
I've _always_ ignored Brynjolf. It gets kind of funny, too; once you get within a certain distance of the market from any direction, he approaches you. I always laughed at stopping short of that distance, seeing him in his stall, then moving forward one foot and watching him start walking towards me only to step back one foot and watch him go back to his stall. He's always headtracking you, too.
@@Eliezar18 LOL.My friends who play all adore Brynjolf and TG.
@1:58 our dude just straight up had a heart attack. Or a stroke. Or his liver imploded. Really, it could have been a lot of things.
Well... They thought about Titus Mede and that's because they changed dialogue. What's more... Every time when I'm starting the game, I'm joining the brotherhood and killing Caesar first. So in my case that was always the first option
What if you bring the claw to Riverwood BEFORE using on the door
The quest won't finish
The option for giving it back won't appear. (Had to do that because I became over encumbered and had to return to town to store/sell loot)
Yeah I tried it and nothing special happens T~T. You just can't give it back to the guy
They should have made it so you had to steal it to finish lol.
I tried that. I hadn't been to Whiterun yet so I didn't know what I was supposed to do, I just got the quest from the storeowner to find the claw and bring it back. So I left the dungeon as soon as I found the claw and went back to Riverwood. It didn't let me give it back.
I mean, the fact that the dialogue of the oath changes indicates the developers DID think you would do it.
Some other fun things I have found: If you get into whiterun by being arrested, when you enter the Jarl's castle Irileth will say "Who let this criminal in here?" There is also unique dialogue if you have not yet entered Whiterun before the "Message to Whiterun" Civil War quest. Dragons don't spawn until after you have completed the Dragon at the Watchtower quest, which makes the dragon sites different, and there is some interesting dialogue if you complete the Soul Cairn quest in the Dawnguard DLC before completing the Watchtower quest as well.
I use the Cheat Room mod, and if you use the cheat spell to set Roggvir to essential, the guards turn hostile.
I tried all of these
Edit: Nevermind, forgot about Lokir
1:05
true nords can remove their own heads through sheer force of willpower
If Hadvar didn't present during listing all the prisoners, Ulfric and Ralof will move casually following the script but when it's your turn, the game will crash
possibly the player creation script is tied to Hadvar in some way
Interesting that Arvel actually does open the door with the claw, and that we see the claw animation more notably. I don't think there's many (any) other times when we get to see that. At most, there's Mercer Fray, but he doesn't exactly use a claw.
If Todd Howard wants you dead, you're done.
So I had a bug happen once where the guy that gets shot at the beginning didn't die. He ended up getting caught on something with pathing. The thing is that because he didn't reach that place where he dies the game just didn't move on with character creation. I think his death triggers the next part.
40 gold bounty for killing the EMPEROR! And 10 gold bounty for killing a chicken! According to Skyrim law, the emperor's life is worth roughly 4 chickens
This mod takes me back. Used to take a lot of mood enhancers as a teenager.
Most Skyrim thing I've ever seen: Can't talk, hands are tied. He could reveal the secrets as to why that is, but his hands are tied on the matter. Maybe it's the opposite of Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth?
I've tried doing this several times. The entire town turns hostile and you don't live long.
Funny how Alvor keeps calming when you fire the calm spell at him despite how you keep missing most of the time.
because it's an AoE spell.
Man first time i played skyrim i went to war with solitude to try and save that guy then he just falls over dead i was so disappointed
I remember once trying to save the bandit solving the puzzle, and he died from a heart attack XD
Coming from a player who's had Skyrim since 2011 "Day 1" and know it back-to-back, I can see the ammont of work that was put into producing this video. Great methods to circunvent programmed situations. Awesome job, Timeng. Thumbs up.
Curiously enough, spells were never my forteé in Skyrim. Always preferred the stealth/knight approach, so, do you mind if I ask you? What is the name of that spell you use to "calm" NPCs so they can talk to you as if nothing had happened before? I play to purchase that tome at the College of Winterhold, because it might be useful with nowaday moddings.
Literally called calm. Or pacify.
@@thoroswyrmsbane6677 Cool! And, does that spell work on all NPC/Enemy levels? Say I meet a Draugr level 100? What would the strongest "Calm" spell be called?
Real honest questions here. I am not a mage.
@@MauMenzori the strongest illusion spell for calm would be harmony i believe. It's a master level spell (which requires a quest to be completed before acquiring the tome) and has a bit of a cast time. Good thing is, it has a decent sized AoE. As for Draugr, you will need a perk in order for the spells to be effective against them as they are classed as undead and most undead are immune to illusion spells unless you have a specific perk. Well, there are 2 perks you need. I can't remember one of them, but Necromage is a perk you need as well. It's in the Restoration tree and makes all spells more effective against undead.
I see the Make A Wish Foundation is extending its service to Bandits.
I saved Roggvir once and he didn't die and I talked to him after. I think he said something along the lines of "I have to leave this place." I did it by getting to close and got wanted and they attacked me if I'm remembering correctly.
it’s so funny how awkward it is when the player doesn’t do what theyre supposed to do
For all the comments that are confused/upset about not being able to talk with your hands bound. "Your hands are bound" is just flavour text to explain why interactions aren't available, I don't think they expected anyone to try and talk to the NPCs during the tutorial
With Rogvir's execution, I feel like part of the reason it's scripted as that he dies anyway is because he ingested poison prior to the headman's block, which could have been done to prevent any rescue attempts for political reasons.
The other reasons probably have to do with stopping the game from breaking/laziness/lack of time.
6:58 got me in tears lmfao 😭 the comedic pause
Do you have a mod collection that you use?
In my head cannon i would always mix the stormcloak war quests and the dark brotherhood quests together.
In fairness, I don't think it's fair to expect them to have accounted for using the console to save or ressurect Lokir. Not talking because your hands are tied is crazy though.
The music on Lokir's part lol
I used to always try so hard to save Roggvir in the hopes that something would happen
I swear on one of my first play throughs, back in 2012, on ps3, Lokir dodged all the arrows and just ran away, never to be seen again. Guess they patched that out with a scripted death. Same for Roggvir, but I saved him from execution by stealth archer-ing the guards and save scumming (this was 12 years ago), and he just stayed on the platform and used the grindstone whenever I went back. I remember this because I always tried to save him in every playthrough afterwards, but I couldn't for some reason.
Yeah I had it so lokir ran into a building so didn't die but also never ran into the trigger so the game soft locked
They didnt execute Roggvir, his head just did that
Roggvir really just had a heart attack 😂
Aside from trying to save Lokir or joining the empire I've tried all of these, though not to hard to save Arvel.

if Lokir survives because the game misses the auto-kill trigger, the sequence just waits forever.
I don't know where he goes, but presumably he stops just out of sight of the player.
I remember one of my first playthroughs, back in 2012, Lokir survived and the game kept going like nothing happened. I think one of the archers forgot to spawn and the scripted death wasn't put in yet. It's possible he died just out of view, though, because I never saw him again.
I did make the bandit finish the golden claw door before watching this and I was massively disappointed
Hmmm....what happens if you set Lokir as essential?
is lokir set to have 1 health or something? I know some games (I think bethesda games included maybe?) have certain npcs have one health if they're supposed to die in cutscenes.
Tullius sounded really bored.
I had never allowed the bandit to solve the trap before. so I let it happen on my most recent run.
There is no issue with your killing the Emperor, a new Emperor was already chosen and waiting in the wings.
Lokir dies. And his death isn't triggered by being shot by the archers, but is scripted.
You can’t save Rogvir he dies no matter what, the only way he didn’t die in this video is if they messed with his coding. I watched another video where someone tried this and Rogvir magically dies no matter what.
I can answer the first one cause I did that on my first playthrough. The elf guards join the town guards and are immortal, and you cant free him from the stocks. $#!7 game.

They probably did but how would you program something to make sense when things are being removed or changed in the game With console commands? Obviously some things they scripted to happen no matter what so they definitely did think of those ones
