To take it away from Harris after Biden endorsed would've caused a fractured party. You will NOT win the presidency without a huge turnout of black voters in big cities.
At the end of the day...by extension, Harris "was" chosen and there simply wasn't time for a new candidate to try to start from scratch...with no money, no field offices, no ground game, no platform and no incumbency advantage.
Harris was the most pragmatic and FAR less damaging choice when considering time, support and infrastructure.
